Then we should expose EVERYTHING, so he won't need loose-fitting clothing.

The medical report also said something about exercise, didn't it?

Yes, must keep his chest exposed and must keep him mentally, emotionally, and physically stimulated.  Lots of cardio.

Subtle report is subtle.

Ah, that reminds me. I don't know if it's been brought up before, but besides the DLC hinting there might be a way to treat Thane, I also assumed that the medical report was telling us he'd live longer than expected--it said that, for best results, he should be very active and stop reminiscing. Shepard's presence--when he's loyal, at least--I think helps on both accounts, even not romanced.

Of course, there's also the suspicious "any injury" thing to take into account. And I love their snarky little way of explaining what's up with his chest window (although I don't know in what world his clothing is considered "loose").

"This suggests that what is best for Mr. Krios currently is to continue to remain active and engage with other team members in order to stay mentally and emotionally stimulated."

Without any suger-coating optimism to make me see what's not there, this seems like a pretty heavy hint that his health will improve (but not be cured, of course), and he will live longer than he expected. If I had to guess, it is to excuse how he might survive until the end of ME3.

^ What? He can't survive through ME3 only to die at the end. Depression would put a serious damper on my Reaper smack-down. A cure must be found.

Unfortunately though, prolonged skin contact with a sweaty human might counteract that, don't you think? It'd add a lot of unecessary moisture.

I have no idea what you mean, madame!  Surely, you're not suggesting... THAT.

But it's moisture that wouldn't be trapped there.   It's like, conceivably, he could be exposed to moisture, so long as it's not constant or trapped against him (which is the point of having his chest exposed).  Other than that, I wouldn't recommend a hot tub or a sauna, but I think he can get rained on and not melt like so many wicked witches.

Tell me you don't feel guilty bringing him to Pragia.

Surely they have de-humidifiers in the mass effect universe.  Sweaty human problem solved.

I don't feel guilty (anymore) about bringing him to Pragia.

And his reactions were worth it.

He reacts? I've never gotten him to react to it! What does he say? I mean, he comments about the conditions Jack lived in, but not about Pragia itself.

I believe that's the extent of his contributions but if he does react about Pragia itself then please let me know, I will have to try and find out what he says in my next runthrough. I generally only runthrough over and over to watch his recruitment and loyalty mission over and over again.

I can confirm that Thane says nothing about Pragia itself. It's like bringing any other squadmate; he only comments on the little things inside the base.

It's better if you don't bring him to Pragia anyway. I only brought him once to see if it changes anything, but alas. I also don't bring him on the Abandoned Mine mission (the one with the husks), because it has rain.

What is "better" if you don't bring him to Pragia?

And I apologize, I didn't mean he has a reaction to being rained on.  I only meant his comments at certain points while going through it.

Same, I don't want to risk his health for the sake of a mission and a bit of extra dialogue. He's too valuable to lose and he needs to be in ME3. Thanks, Fiery for confirming that for me. That's something I think we need to see in ME3, squad members commenting on planets and missions and the choices you made.

"Better" as in narratively speaking. You know his condition prefers dry areas, so bringing him on such missions doesn't really make sense.

I think a good squad member to substitue him with is Mordin or possibly even Samara. They too have interesting dialogue but it isn't as deep as Thane's. But t doesn't make sense to take him somewhere where he is going to get worse instead of having a longer life span. That's just callous.

Eh, I'm a bit of a metagaming roleplayer. I can't recall hearing about a particular flag being raised of "Thane is brought to Pragia" in the game files, so I doubt it will affect the mission later. I feel guilty, just a bit, but my Vanguard isn't going to get rid of her favorite sniper when she knows how to metagame.

Alrighty.  So, how does Thane bathe?

My money is on steaming. Less moisture in steam, a little but not a lot. Perhaps he creates an acid like sweat to remove filth and what not but I'm sticking with steaming.

Steam humidifies a room. It would be better to just have a tub or spongebath, don't you think? I ask because I don't think he'll melt if water touches him, or he's in an environment with water.

So long as he just doesn't stay there.

I was also thinking spongebath. I would think inhaling steam would negatively affect his condition.

Hmm. Might help it though. Heat would dry up the lungs again, however, moisture also gets in. That is a highly debateable topic, one I think I would lose on, which is rare but does happen from time to time. Therefore, I'll say steam or possibly spongebath but I'm now baffled. I can't think of any way he can wash without using moisture so it may not affect his condition if he doesn't stay in places of moisture for just over short periods of time.

Even from a metagaming perspective, bringing him to Pragia isn't really justifiable. Not unless he actually had something unique to him that happens or is said during the mission, similar to bringing Legion to the Migrant Fleet.
