I don't know much about reptile physiology, but I'd imagine that Thane wouldn't need to bathe much. His skin probably wouldn't sweat, as it would be maladaptive to lose much in the way of body fluids on a very dry planet, or produce much in the way of oils.

I won't dispute that. There, I completely agree. However, since the medical report suggests moisture can get trapped between the skin and whatever the drell is wearing, and since lizards don't wear clothes, I'd imagine trapped moisture + trapped grime/skin cells/whatever would make for a fairly gross environment that a sentient species might see to as a means of maintaining some sort of hygiene. I assume he cleans himself in some way.

Also, he drinks liquids.

I'm just not of the opinion that coming in contact with water briefly will be detrimental to him. Whereas, prolonged exposure to humidity (read as: amount of moisture saturating the air) would be bad. I'm not saying my opinion is better or more justifiable. I'm just sayin'.

Even from a metagaming perspective, bringing him to Pragia isn't really justifiable. Not unless he actually had something unique to him that happens or is said during the mission, similar to bringing Legion to the Migrant Fleet.

Are you sure you don't mean from a roleplaying perspective. From a metagaming perspective it definitely is justifiable. You know that the game doesn't register in a permanent way that you took Thane to Pragia, so you know that it technically has no bearing on his health. You are free to pick whom you want. From a roleplaying perspective, you might risk him anyway, or you might decide the cost is too great.

Alrighty.  So, how does Thane bathe?

Duh, dirtbaths. He is a lizard. He totally rolls around naked in piles of sand and dust.

(I have no clue how actual lizards clean themselves.)

@Saibh, I actually did mean roleplaying rather than metagaming. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm sorry, but as soon as I started reading this thread, I mentally heard this; "I know what you're thinking; "Here comes Ol Thane! He's a scaly man-fish!""

Thanks guys. Image IPB I've just been catching up on the last few pages and drooling over all of the gorgeous artwork. I'm particularly fond of the sunbathing piece. Image IPB

Is it just me or does your Warden look overly similar to Morrigan? O__o

Hah, that she does! :D Her morph uses a bit of Morrigan's facial structure as well as Anora's, and from there I just tinkered with it until I was satisfied. In game I don't realize it as much, though... thankfully. Image IPB

Okay, I've been a member of the forums for a little, but got all focused on school. Just recently, I found time to read all 237 pages of this thread and I gotta say, congratulations on some wonderful and funny conversations
I plan to read all the fan threads, but Thane was first, considering he is my favorite ;)

Hope to read more from you guys soon

You should join in on the conversations! I've read this thread in its entirety as well, I love reading conversations about my favorite video game character in existence. After reading this thread, you start to notice that a lot of previous forumites seem to disappear. Real life must have gotten in the way.

What can I say -- I like to read. Especially about Mass Effect lately. It's an escape from the boring drab that is college life and work. Peh.

And, as conversations arise, I probably will join in. As I was going through the pages, I'd see things and be like "Oh, I want to talk about that!" and I then I remember that those conversations were from months ago, and to suddenly chime in would look silly. I'll be a regular here though, or will at least try, until school pulls me away again. Real life really does get in the way of everything.

I agree-the Mass Effect universe is so full of depth and excitement. I think its an escape of daily life to most people. I don't have many people to talk to about Mass Effect in depth irl, that's why the forums are so interesting to explore, personally speaking.

If you ever want to bring something up that isn't currently being discussed, just do it anyway. It could start a nice group discussion.

Well, lately I've been thinking alot about how Kolyat's role might play out, if he is to be in Mass Effect 3. A part of me has this weird train of thought that he's probably gonna join C-Sec and 'turn his life around', which is all good.

It made me think though; if Kolyat were to somehow get killed in ME3, how would Thane react? Kolyat's his only son, and as important as Shepard is to him, do you really think she'd be enough to possibly comfort Thane, or even keep him focused on the mission after his son dies? Just listening to him if you fail his loyalty mission, it seems quite clear to me that Kolyat was one of his last driving forces in his life. I couldn't imagine what would happen if he died.

I actually read all the pages of this thread myself. It wasn't 237 pages at the time though. I don't think I could read all the pages of the other  fan threads some of them are pretty large.

Well, as long as they're about characters I'm interested in, it should be enjoyable. I'll save my least favorites for last. Like Miranda.
