The voice certainly helps, though. Mr. Farley could read me the phonebook and I'd probably still swoon.

She's a killer. She knows it. There's nothing romantic to her about it. In calling her Siha, it feels like, to her, Thane is reminding her that being an "angel" isn't all glitter and fluffy wings - she's a strong woman doing what needs to be done, and he loves her for it.

What my Shepard gets out of Siha is not like the "sweetheart" or "angeltits" type of nickname. I don't even know that she finds it romantic in the traditional sugary-sweet sort of way. I know a lot of people see the "angel" and "tenacious protector" but she sees the "warrior" part and "fierce in wrath."

I have a question for the women on the board:
What would you do if a guy called you "Siha" in real life, how would you react?
(Of course this would mean the guy had to have played ME2 but that's besides the point. Work with me here.)
Just wondering....
I'm a little late to the party but-I asked my boyfriend to call me "Siha" once as a joke, he said it in a mock-Thane deep and raspy voice, major fail. I told him I had to go back to my Mass Effect boyfriend.
As for a random guy calling me Siha-I'd assume that he had assumed I've never played Mass Effect (or picked up a controller in my life, since most people are shocked when I tell them I love video games and avidly play them) and would think he's being smooth or something with a unique name <_< I'm cynical

Well, mostly because it's not being called "Shepard" by your love interest. It's sweet without feeling corny or demeaning, and isprobablythe most affectionate thing Shepard gets called (out of "Battlemaster", "Shep", "skipper", "boss-lady", and "Shepard-Commander"). It's also very appropriate for Shepard.
Those are all the ones I can remember.

Hey, guys. I'm a bit late joining the fun but better late than never. I think those are the only nicknames given to Shepard. I couldn't think of a nickname for my Shepard to be honest. I think he'd like his first name to be used instead of his last but Bioware obviously can't do that. I don't actually think any developers can actually. It's a shame really. I'd just love to hear an in game character say my name for once.
Name him Commander.

Heh, but where's the fun in that? I wonder if there'll ever be a game to do that? I hope so and hope I live to see the day it happens.

My boyfriend would NEVER call me Siha. I think he'd punch me at the mere mention of it. I wouldn't want him to, anyway. That would be...weird. It's a Shepard-Thane thing. Not a human-strange person thing.
Well. That's an excitable boyfriend you have, then.

I had forgotten about all those other nicknames that the crew gives Shepard. I can't really think of anymore either.

Anyone else miss that little slice of silliness in ME2? I would have loved getting Thane to dance crazy with Shep at the Dark Star or Afterlife.

I like that he calls Shepard "siha" because it's so personal and specific. It's like a code for "this is what you mean to me" that can only be used between Thane and Shepard.
