Sorry, am on call w/limited time (and access) to PCs. Ok - Saibh, a *facepalm* can be done two ways #1=vertical, where you cover your nose (fingers to forehead) and Kolyat does it as Joram and his Krogan bguard walk by him. I think at least 2 other NPCs do it in the game, and there was a thread where folks posted various pics of this facepalm, and discussed use in ME2 & ME3 (wasn't as funny as the "Horatio and sunglasses" thread, which is AWESOME, but the facepalm has it's role!!)
#2= the horizontal facepalm where you cover your mouth and chin (fingers on cheek and jaw) like covering your mouth when you cough or for, like, OMG...... The challenge is determining the meaning behind the *facepalm* in the context of it's use. So, hope that clarifies what I meant on page 235.
AND - here's my MedSpeak regarding Kepral's and fluid (shower) posts - it's a bacteria that apparently lives in, and attacks, Drell lung tissue. And Codex say Drell get it from Hanar home world where humidity is high ( >90%) most of the time. As the Drell living there are constantly breathing this wet, moisture soaked air, they "contract" this bacterial infection. (It's either dormant in Drell physiology, and activated by the moisture, or something in the moisture and air of Hanar world toxic to Drell). So, as long as Thane doesn't breath in mositurized (wet) air, it shouldn't acclerate his condition (no cure, so the bacteria are still eating away at his lung tissue no matter what air he breathes. With exposure to wet air, the bacteria "get busy" -I mean multiplying AND eating faster) If Thane breathes in dry air, the hope is that he can maintain current "bacteria counts" and not make things worse. This means, his skin exposed to water is NOT the issue, it's what he breathes. (except chest skin, which, if it holds moisture like perspiration, it will keep that area moist and some may get through - this of course is a theory, because if inner lung tissue was effected by what's on the skin, think about tattoos and what all that ink that would do do the lungs using this theory, but that's a whole 'nother discussion). So, as long as Thane wears his mask, doesn't spend "days" in the rain, and drys off on Normandy, he should be fine on "wet misisons". I would NOT however, take him with me to 2175 Aeia (Jacob's loyalty mission) as that's a humid air planet, and no one wears masks. That would be serious badness for Thane and worsen his disease.......
I suspect they have a "dry" chemical or other type of shower in 2145, similar to the "decon" scans in ME1 (remember those?) everytime you reboarded the Normandy. traditional wet showers, with a rebreather mask, would be the only other option. Okay, gotta finish call, report off, and get back to ME2 gameplay #15. Will check back later, apologize for long post....hp
