Do you think Thane keeps pictures, even with his eidetic memory?  What would Thane keep of Shepard besides his memories, if anything?  What would your Shepard give Thane that showed a bond of friendship / love?

He mentions that he does, in fact, after talking to Mouse. He recalls that Mouse gave him a picture of himself so he wouldn't be forgotten, and Thane kept it for sentimental reasons, even though he knew it was silly. And then remarks that he didn't even keep a picture of his own son.

The General hath returned. So, do we have a name for ourselves yet? KaimanaMM, I like the pic, it really catches Thane's good side.

I kinda sorta don't want a name. It's...cultish. Being a fan of Thane is good enough for me. :D

In my world, Shepard would have a digital picture frame on her desk that cycled through pictures.

This would be one of them.

I think that's a great picture of him. Even though he doesn't have to I think he would keep some pictures, but only of something or someone really important. I really don't know what Shepard would give him. Maybe her dog tags, or something else important to her.

RE: commitment - yeah, I don't think having to be away because you don't know anything else makes you unable to commit to someone. One of my childhood friends, her father was a welder and was often away for weeks at a time while her mother was basically a single parent housewife. Her parents are still married. I'm pretty sure it's that way for military families, too, where one of the parents is a civilian.

Although, I do wonder how it affected Irikah and their marriage anyway. No final argument or slammed door -- makes me wonder if there were domestic disagreements. Or Thane watched galactic soaps when nothing else was on TV.

And now I'm picturing him sitting at the end of a hotel bed in pajama pants and fuzzy slippers with his sniper rifle and console open next to him, staring intensely at some daytime drama on the wallscreen.

RE: holos - foolish bits of sentimentality? Thane has them. Maybe not many of them, but I'm sure he has them.

RE: name/cult - I'll have to respectfully retreat to my little corner of the internet. I will cure-seek and occasionally fangirl and make ridiculous shirts and arts, but I'll forgo a label and special kool-aid. o.o

Heh, OK, just Thane fans it is. Foolish sentimentality, I think it's kind of nice to have a bit of needless sentimentality every now and again, it just makes life a bit more fun and shows you care for something or someone.

And sobbing, because you know he totally would.

Oh wait, scratch that, he would be shedding a series of single,  manly tears over the plight of the on screen protagonists. He's a very sensitive soul.

One of my favourite Star Wars moments, right behind all the Grievous scenes and Clone Wars duels (and how many were there? Let's see... 6! Only 6! I am appauled! That, and they always portray my idol as being a coward! I'm hurt, deeply. One of these days I'm writing in to say what I think.). I could never see Thane doing anything as dramatic as that in his life time, maybe when Irikah died and if Shepard died. Even then, though, I think he'd just silently mourn instead of ripping up a whol room. Which reminds me, TFU II is out shortly. Woohoo! More Vader!

@Saibh LOL!

@GeneralAshous I concur, I think Thane went ballistic when Irikah died. A quiet, deadly, ballistic. He was a man on a mission and just did what had to be done. I don't think he would have wrecked a room, unless there were men in there who needed dying, then the room would have been left intact, save for all the dead bodies. One hour massacre anyone?
Yeah, that's Thane.

I think I must have missed something, or maybe I don't remember. When was this one hour massacre?

I imagine the one-hour massacre on Omega and I can't help but laugh. You know, picturing all those batarians and turians anxiously looking for something that keeps decrementing their number each minute.

EDIT: @JEC, it's mentioned in Thane's dossier files from LOTSB. You can find it here in the first entry:

I don't know how I missed that. Thanks

I wish we knew more about it. Maybe they will tell us something about it in ME3.  I am wondering how they knew Thane was responsible for it.

The Shadow Broker was the one who revealed Thane's identity to the Batarians. They were too scared to go after Thane so they went after his wife. It could be unrelated, but for some reason I assumed the massacre on Omega was part of Thane's revenge against his wife's murderers. The Shadow Broker probably had agents on Omega who reported back to him. The Shadow Broker has agents everywhere it seems. Even on the Normandy. I was amazed he had info on super mundane stuff like Jacob's exercise regime.

Today I encountered a Thane related glitch while playing ME2. Anyone else ever have a problem with disappearing Thane? I played through his loyalty mission and when I got to the part where Thane is talking to Kolyat Thane was invisible and I could only hear his disembodied voice. Perhaps this glitch is the game's way of letting me know I've played through this mission one too many times. :P

It probably was revenge against the people that murdered his wife. I just can't see him massacring a bunch of people for no reason.

No I haven't experienced that glitch. The only thing I have experienced is when Thane is talking to his son Kolyats mouth won't close. It's really strange because it just stays open. I have also experience some glitches on Freedoms Progress, and sometimes with Kusumi's loyalty mission.

When you do Thane's loyalty mission at the end Bailey talks about a drell who killed a bunch of "real bad people" on the Citadel about ten years ago and was never caught. So from Omega to the Citadel and who knows where else Thane hunted the people responsible down. It makes me wonder how many people were involved in Irikah's death.

My favorite glitches are when the YMIR mechs get stuck and you can just shoot at them at your leisure. I think that happened once during Kasumi's loyalty mission, in fact. :D

This thread needs more Thane (with a dash of Feron)

Yep, I had that same glitch on my renegade playthrough.  I think Joram Talid's body gets in the way, and Thane's path to Kolyat is blocked.  I was tempted to replay the mission as a paragon just because that's one of my favorite moments in the game.  I also learned the hard way not to have Urz follow you before you talk to Wrex...

I remember Bailey saying that. It sounds like there were a lot of people involved, and it sound like Thane got rid of every single one of them.

OK-this is spontaneous, I haven't thought all the possibilities through yet. But, after reading some stuff from all the other fan threads, I'm getting anxious that BW cannot possibly keep all the current members (including Thane) in ME3 UNLESS- they keep everyone currently on the Normandy now, and the former ME1 squadmates too (including Liara and Alenko (or Ashley)!! My rationale - the mission isn't done yet, and all Shep's current squadmates still want to stay til the end of the mission, for whatever reason. AND, Shep needs Wrex and other alien leaders like him to join the war against the Reapers. So, ME3 should focus on Shep gathering alien allies (turian, asari, quarian, elcor, hanar, rachni, etc) by doing missions of some kind for that species, in order to gain their support. Having advantages for contact with some species (like Wrex, Rachni Queen and Legion, for example) could be written in dependant on the choices you made in ME1 & ME2. I mean, there are so many species, that trying to unite or persuade them, to "join the cause" is a MAJOR feat on it's own, w/o throwing in other missions (like, curing Thane, finding more Prothean data, or even translating the data already obtained to help us, etc). IMO - that plot has the potential for a great game, not to mention keeping Thane around.(ok, it would make all fans of every crew member happy too, but I'm focusing on keeping Thane with me in ME3!!!). Just thinking and writing............

So the glitch only happens if you shoot Talid? That would explain it. It was my first time shooting him and I felt a bit bad for it. Didn't help that Thane disapproved. I'm incapable of playing fully renegade characters and it seems my paragon/paragade Sheps tend to mesh better with Thane.

Wow, Thane and Feron. I really like that pic. Never shot Talid, I thought it'd scar Kolyat for life and Thane wouldn't like it. I think that's a funny thing about Thane. He doesn't mind killing but hates it if people kill in cold blood. Hmmm, very deep character indeed.
