The chocolate bit is in the game (i.e. not cut) and you can trigger it if you pick the Renegade option with Mouse (NOT the Intimidate option). I got it on my first last playthrough, and it was sad indeed, yet also funny in a way.

This is Thane when he remembers the fact that he never gave Kolyat chocolate:

Ok that's good to know. I really hate being mean to mouse. His life is sad enough, but I may do it just to hear them them say the lines. Then I'll probably reload it and do the paragon option. I can't ever seem to stick with renegade.

And by the way, I'm not too sure if it's the lower left or lower right Renegade option that triggers this. All I know is it was the result of some Renegade stuff. I don't recall exactly what I clicked, but it might have been the lower right option.

I believe it is... right. Yes, pretty sure it's right.

I'm thinking it's the lower right option as well. If you choose to Intimidate Mouse, he will immediately admit and tell you about Elias, terminating the chances of deeper discourse. It's probably the lower right option, which is the normal Renegade one.

My favorite part of the whole conversation with mouse is when Shepard turns to Thane and gets huffy about him using children. I love how he basically shrugs it's off and goes on to explain who else he used. It's a, "well... yeah..." response. Fun!

Yes, however, I can see why he did it. At the end of the day, who is easier to slip into a place, a fully grown man or a young child. Why, after saying that, do I feel like Reaver from Fable? Anyway, there's that and they work for less (or nothing in some cases, wahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha).

From the conversation, I assumed Thane used both adults and children as contacts.

Shepard: You put children in danger to spy for you?
Thane: Children. The poor. My people's word for their kind is "drala'fa" the ignored. They're everywhere, see everything. Yet they are never seen.

Ash, you can only be comparable to Reaver if you have a shiny top hat. :P

I really enjoy that part also. It doesn't bother him one bit that Shepard seems a little upset that he used children.

Thane definitely needs a hug. I really hope that he can mend his relationship with his son.

He will, you could see Kolyat soften up ever so slightly at the end of the loyalty mission. It's hard for a child to remain angry at a parent for long unless said parent did something truly unforgivable. And with Thane's disease, both will be wanting to get as many good memories of the other as they can.

(Stephen Fry) Oh, yes. Of course, I completly forgot he said the poor as well. My, my, aren't I mad. I think... I am, aren't I?

Actually, I do posses a shiny top hat that I wore to a wedding a few years ago and I even have a cane. I am Reaver! Oh... what fun I'm going to have.

Thane doesn't seem to be ashamed or embarrassed by much. He's so... serene.
I'll gladly give him a hug.

Yes, Ash, you are a mad hatter! Mwahahaha... Mine is an evil laugh.
You actually have the hat? Dang! Outfitted WIN! With a cane, that's a plus.

Reaver is an interesting lad. Cheeky but malicious... sort of a fun kind of fellow. :D Reminds me of someone... yes... but whom? Hmm...

(Stephen Fry) This chap wouldn't happen to be a complete lunatic with an enthusiasm for Star Wars and Thane, now... would he? Indeed, Reaver is most delightful. Yes, I do actually have the top hat and cane. I would like to say that I have a tight, white leather suit but I'm afraid I don't. I do have a white suit though so it's balanced out. Yes, and a cane. The cane was an extra I bought for a drama piece I was doing at the time and I decided to use it at the wedding. It got some very positive reviews.

LOL White leather suit? No, really? You're killing me and now you're trying to hide the body! I feel like I've been transported to the 70's.

Star Wars and Thane.. now that is a fan fic I would pay money to read!

(Ben Kingsly- Sabine) No, it isn't leather. As far as I know. That would just be kinky! Out of the way Boulder! I can't see the screen. That's better. Now then... where was I? Oh, yes! I would love a Star Wars and Thane fan fic too. I could just see Thane vs Boba. Not sure who'd win. My money is on draw.

Thane would so kick Boba's arse! I mean, sure Boba has rockets but Thane has neck snappage. Thane would win and still manage to look good while doing so.

Yet, Boba has a jet pack which he utilises in combat and has even fought Vader and walked away. Draw is more likely to happen.

No. Returning to Thane. I wonder whether we'll see the result of Thane and Kolyat's talks in ME3? I should jolly well hope so. It would give us closure.

Thane and Kolyat need to have another meeting to discuss all that has happened. I think it would be interesting to see Thane bring up his relationship and feelings for Shepard.

I wonder how Kolyat would feel about his father being in a relationship with Shepard.  He might not be to happy about it. At least not at first.
