Thane just has a nice, calm look, which contrasts with his son. Please don't tell me you want to hear stories of exotic parties I've been to now.

Thane is full of awesomeness! Its the green, its calming. ^_^
You have bluffed twice now... I am not sure I can believe you.
Anything additional and well, I am going to have to call Shenanigans. You have forced my hand. B)

Very vivid. I think you described the looks on their faces perfectly.

Green does seem to be a calming colour. It suits him.

How dare you! :P Sir, I am happy with my imperfections. Thane has imperfections, none are coming to mind, but I am sure they're there!

His imperfections are what make him perfect for my Shepards.

I concur. I was trying to think of an imperfection. Got nothing.

I think the only imperfection is his belief that he has nothing to do with the person's death. OK, if it weren't for the employer, they'd be alive, that I understand and is quite right. The thing though is that he actually kills them. The employer doesn't do it otherwise there'd be no need for him. That, and I think his thoughts of himself as being only a weapon. He is so much more than a weapon. He's a great individual who had a hard life.

You know the inevitable is going to happen, someone is going to say, the imperfection is HE'S DYING! So, I thought I would say it so the obvious is pointed out. Yep.

It's a little sad that he thinks of himself as just a weapon, but I guess being taught that from the time he was six is one thing that made him a good assasin. I think that being with Shepard he might start to see himself as much more than that.

I'm happy to join you in holding the galaxy hostage to save Thane! Totally worth it! Image IPB Shepard could just go to the council and say to them (with a datapad of the reapers coming) "Ah, reapers, we have dismissed that claim. Well here they are, and if you don't spend all their resources on curing Thane, then they will wipe us all out! Dismiss that turian councillor!!
And General Ashous, please tell us there tales of exotic parties you have been to? You have me curious now...

Yes!

Ash needs to tell us more stories. I may have to begin a campaign. You know, start a voting system, with candidates... yeah, it would be easier if Ash just told a story. But I suppose, begging and pleading is in order? :P

You have to remember, he was trained by the hanar to be a weapon. That belief is probably something they taught him so he wouldn't have to bear the weight of killing all those people, as they regretted their need for him. Also, a drell doesn't think the same way as a human.

I do agree about him being more than a weapon, however, and it's great you have an opportunity to show him that he's worthy of so much more when you befriend / romance him.

@ Ravenimage, distancing yourself from a situation like Thane's is necessary so they don't live in constant guilt. Especially with an eidetic memory. It was a merciful philosophy that the hanar taught him. You got it spot on! Romancing him may have made him realise that he is more than that, and I guess it's why he joins the suicide mission in the hopes for forgiveness, because, with his upcoming death, he starts to feel guilt.

@Hainke - Let the begging commence! *Begs* And, if general Ashous doesn't comply, then the alternative is a bomb... Image IPB

As much as I would love to indulge your curiosity, this is a Thane thread. The unqiue experiences of my somewhat dull life would bore you to death and likely get the thread locked. Let us say this, I have seen five exotic parties in my time, three of which involved lots of people and acts that are saved for a more... intimate setting. Thankfully, on all three occasions I have managed to escape before I was roped in.

Back to Thane. It's probably true that the only reason he sees himself as nothing more than a weapon s probably down to his training. I think that he still could have got it out of his system though. Still, I think that his denial of his involvement suits him. It gives him this strange sense of threat, like he wouldn't mind snapping the necks of fellow squaddies if asked to. Why am I getting a few ideas? Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

If an assassin came for me, I'd probably blame the employer over the assassin anyway. I think the hanar were very protective of Thane, and he wasn't so much as a "cold-blooded killer" as a... special forces for the hanar; a protective figure to track down and eliminate those who threaten their colonies, but I believe someone in this thread already pointed that out. From my perspective, even if he was given license to feel guilt, there was no reason to -- most of the people he killed "pre-family man" were slavers and terrorists. It's the same as N7 marines killing batarians for preying on human colonies.

And the people he killed when he free-lanced were probably none too good, either.

The hanar in some way were maybe trying to potect him from any guilt by teaching him these things. He wouldn't have been much of an assasin if he felt guilt all the time. Eventually the guilt would have gotten to him. I think he still believes he is a weapon because there was no one to show him that he is so much more. Irikah may have tried. Thane being gone all time probably made that hard to do. Shepard  is different. They don't have to be seperated. She can show him that he is so much more. Like I said befor I think being with Shepard he is starting to see that he is more than that. Maybe he's starting to see himself the way Shepard does.

LOL Roped in? I think that can be, yeah, I'll give you credit for that one. I will hold off on the shenanigans, for now. <_<

Oh believe me, when Thane first said, "my arm is Shepard's" I had a really good idea of who to unlease Thane upon. A couple of people. But since there was no option for that. Oh well.

Besides... Mine is an evil laugh! Mwahahaha!

After everything Shepard has done. She saved the galaxy once and is about to do it again. If you saved the council then they owe you. I know it sounds bad, but that's one of the reasons I saved them.  I do have a hard time being renegade, but I also wanted them to owe her. It's time to collect. They must have something that can help Thane. I never pay attention to that turian on the council. He gets on my nerves everytime he speaks.

Especially when he talks about how "fragile your mental state is." I wish there was an "eat me" dialogue option.
