Hehe! Unfortunately, I don't have LotSB yet cuz I still can't get xbox live, but I have read all the dossiers and watched the trailer. And I must say, before talking to other people, I thought that it was Thane who was getting electrecuted and tortured in the trailer! My heart stopped guys, I'm telling you, it stopped!

LotSB was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. Feron does look like he could be Thanes son more than Kolyat. I could see how you thought that was Thane. Feron is wearing the same outfit only in a different color. I still really love reading Thanes letter in his dossier. It is both beautiful and sad.

Yeah, I read Thane's letter in his dossier. It was really nice that he was the only character who had a romance specific extra in his dossier. Is it a sign of things to come??? That is the question. Bioware have said that the DLC for ME2 will contain clues as to what will happen in ME3...

Tasha - here's hoping your reminder about what BW said is true, and that the implication is Thane will be back in ME3!!

raven - follow-up as previously mentioned-look for BiancoAngelo7 in projects for TexMods outfits (Thane's black & red loyalty uni in leather, totally AWESOME, he looks even better in the alternate white & black one!! chest open in both, of course). kikai made the purple & black dress tunic uni & changed lbd in Kasumi's mission to white & purple striped or white & green striped. The alternate Cerberus Thane outfit is a .tpf file, I can't find the project creator's name, but I know they are all listed in the Forum section regarding customizing FemShep..........If it weren't for customization, I wouldn't have played ME2 so many times, or LOVE it like I do (OK, second to Thane, that is:)

You know, I might buy ME for the PC just to get all these outfits, hairstyles and texmods... As well as the DLC and screenshots. Haha, the outfits sound really cool. Thane has a story that is perched on a cliffhanger, Bioware must fulfill our needs and give us an AMAZING conclusion to the story.

However, yet another of my questions. A hypothetical one this time:

What if Thane can't be cured in ME3? How would you like to see his story end?

@Tasha -- I concur. BioWare needs to pump out those DLCs faster. I have a Thane itch no mad salarian scientist can cure, short of dressing up like Thane.

@Hedgepath -- Thanks. I downloaded TexMod and have been sifting through some mods for Thane and FemShep. Unfortunately I'm cut off from the internet at my house atm and can't download everything I need. Using my droid right now, lol.

Yeah, LotSB has been out a while now. And we have received no word of what DLC they will be up to next......

Thane itch is a lot better than scale itch! Another cliffhanger, how did scale itch get onto the Normandy???

Grunt. And teenage curiosity.

As for Thane's story coming to an end, as long as it's emotional enough to be good. I don't want it to be some ten-second scene like "okay, Thane's dead - next."

raven - looking forward to your feedback on the outfits, esp Thane's. Warning - be prepared, he looks extremely sexy, and concentrating on mission parameters instead of fantasies, may be "challenging" :)

I can't think about Thane not being cured...but if I HAD to, I'd like to still see him at Shep's side throughout ME3, and then, they both "go out in a blaze of glory" together at the end, as BW has said this is the last ME, so last Shep appearance anyway. So, let them go together...I'd rather die with him in the end as "heroes", then live without him as a retired "used to be somebody".... Anything else would make my Shep feel guilt and/or regret, along with her emptiness.

My best ending of ME3 - after the Reapers are destroyed, Thane & Shep are getting the "vacation" they've been planning since they met, and while they are sitting together watching the suns (pleural on purpose) set over the Great Rift Valley on desert planet Klendagon (making better memories than combat & missions), Liara calls and tells them that she has finally translated the Prothean data, and there is a cure for Kepral's Syndrome!!!!

I guess they are waiting for the realease of ME2 for the Playstation. I really don't know why there is no new DLC.
Kelly brought that on to the Normandy.

Do most of you here have the PC version of ME and ME2?

I was thinking of buying it for the PC also. You seem to be able to do a lot more with it then you can with the XBox  version, but does that mean I would have to start all over again.

I didn't know that they said the DLC would contain clues of what was to come. As for your question. I just want him alive and hopefuly well. Thane said he wanted to see the desert. My shepard wants to take him. Hopefully he will be closer to reconciliation with his son too. I just want Thane and Shepard together living their lives.

Hmm. Seeing Thane cured reminds me of that episode of House where a cancer patient of Wilson's has a bit of a "Wait, WHAT?" moment when he's told his cancer is in remission. It'll be interesting to see Thane adjust to actually having a future rather than being resigned to his fate. I wonder if it'll change anything about his personality or his relationships.

However, if he doesn't get cured or the resolution in ME3 is less than ideal, I might honestly just kill him in my ME2 playthrough--go back and redo the suicide mission so he gets to go out in a blaze of glory. At any rate, I'd rather him have a "blaze of glory" sort of death in either ME2 or ME3 than die of Kepral's Syndrome. Just about anything's preferable to suffering a slow death.

@JECWSU: I've got it for PC. You can do a lot with just the save game editor, more if you hotkey your own cheats, use TexMod, all that good stuff. However, ME is not a particularly moddable franchise unlike Dragon Age. So what you're missing out on is mostly stuff used for cosmetic changes, recording the game, convenience changes, cheats, etc.

I'm addicted to modding, or "modding" in ME's case. I always tell my friends to buy the PC version of BioWare games.

In ME2 I gave my Shep a fully customized face. She has Ashley's lips and prosthetic eyes like TIM. She may soon have a modified version of Aria's outfit.

I think the romantic in me would want this, too.

I hadn't thought of this situation, but it makes some sense.  From what I remember, death by Keprals sounds terrible.  I wouldn't want that for him.

... but, but, BUT... dang - I simply will not allow myself to fall into such depressing thoughts for more than a few seconds.  Bioware, please... don't do this to us.  I want him to be cured/given a treatment!  They deserve that desert vacation.  :crying:  Pretty please??

Me too - I also played both ME's on xbox.  I might just have to purchase them both again for PC before ME3 comes out, just to experience all the modding fun.

Nah. Modding ME2 can be frustrating to figure out, so don't be totally jealous.

As for going back in ME2 to kill off Thane, I don't think I could. Cheating death when you're dying is a morale boost, and I don't want Shep to miss out on Thane in ME3.

Dld it take you long to figure it out? Frustrating, but still looks fun.

I don't think I could kill off Thane either. For any reason.

I'm still figuring some of it out, but it's not too bad if you're willing to play around with the right programs. Look up Gibbed's Save Editor and TexMod.

I'd rather not have to kill off anyone, believe me :innocent:  Mass Effect was the first video game franchise where I actually liked all of my party members.  Even Kaidan, whom I mock mercilessly.  Even crazy Zaeed in his crazy cargo hold.  And thus, from a narrative perspective, if these people are going to die, I like them enough to try and ensure awesome deaths for them.  Kaidan died on Virmire holding out against the waves of geth.  If I can't cure Thane, I'll give him an epic death instead of a slow, suffocating one.  Hell, I'd almost rather kill off these characters in my "canon" than have them relegated to lame roles in ME3--if any of them end up with a handwave and little else, I might seriously consider going back to ME2 and letting them go out in a blaze of glory instead.

I would rather not kill of anyone either. Even though Ashley is my least favorite character if given the option to save her and Kaidan I would have. Let me just say that my first choice would be to keep him alive. I don't want Thane to die at all in ME3. I would hope that if they don't let us cure Thane that they would at least write something good for his death. I don't want to see him die at the begining of ME3.  I don't want to see him dying slowly in some hospital bed with some really bad writing.  I don't want to see Shepard act like it's no big deal if he does die. What I really want is for Thane to be alive and well in ME3, and a great well written story for him and everyone else.
