'Tis a llama.

I want a realistic ending. Not one for sap and I can just picture Shep, or the whole Normandy crew sacrificing themselves to stop the Reapers. As in piloting the ship right into their systems or something or returning to unmapped regions on what will be a definite suicide mission. I can even see Shep getting left behind somewhere to finish the Reapers off, while telling Joker to fly away.

What I expect if Thane should be cured isn't any happier, to be honest. Except that if he and Shep do survive, there will be scars to contemplate but they'll go somewhere together and be "last seen on the desert planet of (insertnamehere)." Or they continue flying around in the Normandy, righting wrongs. But there will doubtlessly be scars, tear-jerking emotion, and some kind of tragedy prior to what end comes for Shep and Thane, even if their ending isn't directly tragic.

If they do cure him, I just want it to be believable. Nothing magic. And of course, it should come with a price.

I suspect the Paragon ending will not be the happiest ending. In DA, the most selfless ending possible was killing yourself.

We have llama farms here. They're so cute!

I can see the ultimate sacrifice ending here myself. But I have to say, if they are together, I will be sad but at least it's a happier ending then his death between 2 & 3. I hope if Shep stays behind that he stays with her. Go out with a big freakin flame!

I agree, the paragon ending isn't always what you expect. In DA, I was absolutely astounded and then furious. It was not what I had expected. Which is probably exactly what BW will do in the end.

And, as a side note, on the ME announcements, there's a contest/giveaway thing going on.

D'aww...

Thane and Shep, trapped in the unmapped regions, voluntarily left behind by their crew to stop the Reaper menace once and for all, bravely clasping hands and facing hell... head on.

Yeah, that's an ending I wouldn't mind.

Yeah, seriously right? I'll still bawl like a big freakin' baby, but it's happier than some of the alternatives.

edit: Oh and an ending cutscense with the sea...

If they don't let Thane or Shepard die. I just want them to be happy together doing whatever they choose to do. If they are still on the Normandy or on some planet that is fine with me. They have both been through so much. Even before they met they had been through a lot. They both deserve some kind of peace. I don't expect it to be easy. Nothing has been so far for either of them. I don't want anyone sacrificing themselves, or something that just makes no sense at all. If they do let us cure him hopefully it will be something believable and very well written.

I so don't want anyone to die either, but if BW is going to do it, at least make it something along those lines. I so want Thane to live and if he's the LI, I want them to be together however it ends. It just seems right that way. I agree with you, they have been through so much in their lives and they deserve the peace and contentment that most of us get with simple retirement. You know, holidays with the kids and grandkids kind of thing.

I'm not into the sacrifice thing--BW seems to be though.

That would not be the kind of ending I would want, but at least they would be together. One being left behind while the other sacrifices themself would just make me upset.

I'm not into the whole sacrifice yourself thing either.

Honestly, if the ending is absolute ****e, I'm going back to console games. Seriously, I even have a nintendo sitting in my room, right along side the super nintendo, ps1 and ps2. *cough* oldschool geek here.

My husband had a ps1 and 2. I just had ps2 myself, and now we have ps3. I guess we really like playstation. We also had the first xbox before we bought the 360.

I like playstation too. The first game I ever played was Final Fantasy vii. Still have it. One of the best games ever.

I wasn't much into games before I met my husband. He did love most of the Final Fantasy games. The first game I played was Tekken 3 or 4. I can't remember.

I tend to get my butt kicked in Tekken. Usually by small children. :)

Mnomaha, I have reached the conclusion that you never sleep. I wish I could spend more time on here :(

The ME3 announcement is great! I kinda knew it would be an assembling of all the races sort of thing. I just want to see what happens to the rachni I saved. Maybe the council will listen to Shepard for once. There is the datapad with the reapers on at the end, so maybe they will present hardcore evidence immediately. As for Thane, I suspect he will get a different romanced ending than his non-romanced ending. There are so many variable for him. I'm afraid ladies, that I will be playing with my Garrus romance playthrough on my first playthrough of ME3. And then Thane, straight after I promise!!

Some bad news though, Mass effect 2 lost to Starcraft 2 45% to 55% in G4TV's Game of the Year award :( Damn all those World of Warcraft players who woulda voted for the Blizzard game.

Glad you liked my dialogues!! I do love both Zev and Thane.

I would probably loose to small kids too. I know my husband always beats me at Tekken so I don't play with him anymore.

Did Bioware ever say if we would get to see that apartment we got on Pinnacle Station again? I know we didn't see it in ME2, but I was hoping to see it maybe in ME3. If we don't get to see it then what was the purpose of giving it to us if not to use or something.

Hey, I love both games.  ME2 a LITTLE bit more, but after BioWare, Blizz is a very close second for favorite studio.  So good on SC2!  But that's a conversation for a different time.

I hope Thane gets a decent ending regardless of whether he's romanced.  Either way, I hope he doesn't die of Kepral's, that's the worst way to go.  If he's going to go, let it be with a bang.  And I'd like to think that even unromanced, the prospect of getting to spend some time at last with his son will keep him going.  Either that or my Shep will have to browbeat him about the responsibilities of being a parent.

I'm not too excited.  Yet.

If the tagline for the game is you know (not trying to spoil here, if you've read the hubbub then you know what tagline I mean), where is our team?  Because the last thing I want is to roll into ME3 and meet up with RandomSniperGuy in the Big Ben clock tower and have him tell us, 'Yeah, that drell assassin on your team was like, the best sniper ever, but he's dead now. So, hows about I join you instead!"

Do.  Not.  Want.

Alright ladies, alright. Let's just take a minute and remember why we're here, Thane, of course. So, the VGA's start at 8 PM EST. The countdown at Spike's website says 12 hrs 50 min.

So, we need something to do while we wait. What shall it be my fellow cure seekers? More stories about Thane? Word games? Sing alongs?

They pull that, I'm getting a refund. If they do that to any of my crew members. I spent all of ME2 getting to know these people and now they're gone? **** that. <_< Takin' my ball and going home. This scenario is unlikely however, as I know BW writers are as attached to the characters they make as we are. I'm sure Thane's writer wants to give him a glorious end if not a cure; let's just hope it makes it through production.

But I digress...

It's 6:30 am and I have had very little sleep. I suggest someone make me coffee, or hit me with a mallet, and we proceed to have a sing-along.

The last thing I want to do is get an entire new team.  The one we have is just fine, and I certainly don't want a replacement for Thane. Why give us all new people with only one game to get to know them.  I agree I don't want this.

Alright Raven needs a hazelnut double tall skinny latte, Stat!

I agree with JEC and Kai.We cannot have this. I would be very put out. Very. I may even have to curse but let's not go there just yet.

Sing along you say?

Delurking ( again, like a faux ninja that I am )

I'm concerned, really concerned. First here's the writer thing. Mr. L'Etoile got a faux pony at Bioware and now he's riding a unicorn somewhere else, so who the new writier is or will be, I simply don't know.

Anyways, I join your casue: We cannot have this. Thane must be there, in ME3.

Otherwise, I'll pout and smear someone with Nutella.

Shepard have a place where she can live with Thane after their victory over Reapers. If the Alliance was not confiscated. It's on the planet Intai'sei, System of Phoenix, Nebula Argus Ro (DLS ME1). And while waiting for news from the VGA, I pray to Arashu.

Aello! Come back outta there!! Mmm... now I've got a hankering for some Nutella on toast.

I agree with everyone else... I will *flip out* if we don't get to keep our squad. A new team?? WTF. I don't even want to think about it. That would be freaking lamesauce! Don't make me and gnas start cursing, Bioware.

Also, I agree with the gals above - I am tired of the ultimate sacrifice. It's okay if that is an option, I'll definitely try it once to cry my little eyeballs out. But for my main playthrough, I want a happier ending as one of my choices. I think the whole 'an they were last seen on a desert planet...' vagueness is fine with me.

*goes back to bouncing around the room* :o
