I shouldn't read any other thread about returning squadmates in ME 3. So many people callously write Thane off as dead. It makes me sad.

I dunno, I feel like his story loses something compelling if he's all of a sudden cured. I can see him hanging around, playing a sort of "consigliere" role for Shepard, but unable to fight himself.

Kolyat SEEMS like a ready-made replacement...but isn't a life of violence as Shepard's squadmate exactly the kind of life Thane didn't want for him?

By that logic, doesn't the suicide mission in ME 2 "lose something compelling" if everyone from the Normandy survives? If Shepard can defy those odds, why not these? At least let us have the choice so players can have what they want, either way.

For myself, I think Thane's story is more compelling if he can be cured. I've already become emotionally invested in the character. I've already been angry and sad that he says he's going to die and how in ME 2 there is nothing we can do about it. I've been sufficiently compelled by that story. Now I want it to end happily in the Mass Effect conclusion. Defying the odds, achieving the "impossible", love overcoming all, lives forever changed. All that heartwarming stuff that leaves me feeling good at the end, being rewarded for helping my Shepard be a hero, and not regretting the whole game.

I want to see Thane again.

Only a few characters have really impressed me to the degree that I really like them.

And Thane is one of those.



I don't feel his story loses anything by him being cured.



Also, essentially, the story of Mass Effect is personalized to the player.

If we want to choose to cure Thane, we should have that option.



Basically, although I like the new characters (except for Jack and Zaeed), I'm still a little disappointed that the new rising stars have pushed aside most of the old ones.



I'm going to be sad if in ME3 it's a bunch of new guys, except for 2 cameos from the ME2 crew, with Garrus and Tali gone away.



And it just doesn't make sense anyway.



The Normandy crew were/are "lifers".

They live on the same ship, to them, it's like their home town or something.

I don't mind a "big epic choice" when it comes to the cure, I just want the choice period, or at least some way to prolong his life without suffering. I still don't think either would lessen the character or his story or his ties to Shep (male or female) in any way, he's a fantastic character (and sexy as all get out, rawr!).

Completely agree.  I'm also going to start acitvely reporting trolls on this thread.  Stirring up dust for the sake of being disrespectful while this fanclub has showed nothing but support and politeness is unacceptable.

This is a support thread.  Voicing one's opinion is completely understandable, trolling and consistantly trolling will no longer be tolerated.

I agree with a lot of this. Why would they go through all the time they did to create the characters just to toss them aside in the next time? And I'm not speaking just about Thane, I'm talking about everyone. I kinda see them using all the party members from ME 1 and 2. Maybe one or two new ones.

I don't know, the more I think about it the more confident that I become that Thane will survive. I think they made him "sick" to make us all worried and such, and then they'll come in in ME3 and be like "BAM POW CHICKA NOW! THANE IS CUREZORRZZS!?!11"

Well, maybe not exactly like that. XD

In short, I just think it's not productive for them to throw away a character that they went to great lengths to create just for us crazy fan girls.

That and they risk being mauled by us if they step outside their doorsteps.

Great job! I know what you mean. Posting your own art is always kinda frightening because you don't know what people will say or how they react. I felt like that the other day when I put up some of my stuff. Just make sure you take credit for it! We don't want your arts getting stolen...

The love scene is very revealing towards the Thane character.  Possibly the biggest nudge towards the devs curing thane is in this scene!  Thane Krios reveals to your femshep that -wants- to live.  This is a -huge- development in his illness since he now has something to live for!  FemShep and Kolyat!  <3<3<3:wub:

For the devs to put that in, write that, send it out and not have some sort of plan for a cure would be beyond me lol.

I think we'll definitely see him in ME3 but for how long, who knows... that's what the devs are probably deciding right now.

Like I said before, I'd be totally flabbergasted if they didn't cure him.  There are SO many key points in this game that hint at it.  So we'll see!! Mmm.. totally want to cuddle with my beau in the desert<3<3<3^_^

I can understand why you don't like it Arrtis. I remember when I first
witnessed it, it actually scared me. Now I've just grown accustomed to

Oh my goodness! We'd all love it but we know that'd never happen. Maybe if they were just really suggestive or something. I wouldn't mind even that. I want Thane to crack at least one slightly pervy/suggestive line. Just a teeny little one! I know it doesn't really fit his character though. He's such a gentleman.
