While I'm at it, just thought I would slip Garrus in again ;)

Swapping places with Shepard can have some... interesting repercussions when they are a foot taller than Shepard...

I Posted Image you Raven! And everyone else on here! Sorry I wasn't on here last night, I was at a christmas party. It was a most interesting event, especially when I realised that I was barn dancing... The wonders of mulled wine...

Although this is really sweet, I hope there isn't a marriage in ME3. I just don't think it will suit Shepard, or fit in with the ME3 story. It suited DA with Alistair, but maybe that's just cuz I'm scared of marriage! Hehe. I don't think even Thane would suit getting married to Shepard, the closest I could see would be Liara with Shep.
But I suspect that Thane will get a spectacular story arc, they wouldn't build him up for nothing!

Also, I find it most amusing when our behaviour scares off all the guys who attempt to enter the thread, but I love it when they do! I love it when people join in our discussions. I'm like mnomoha, the groups are hard to navigate, so I prefer the threads.

No marriage for Garrus at all Tasha?

I can see your point about marriage. I'm not sure if marriage is for Garrus, but Thane was married before. It didn't really work out that well for him, buy he is in a different situation with Shepard. I don't know if he would want to try it again, and not everyones Shepard is interested in marriage. I hope they do have something good for him planned. As long as Thane is alive in ME3 than I will be happy.

I just want Thane. That's all. Be they married or just an epic battle where Shepard and Thane run too each other after the battle and embrace. Then I would be happy. A riding off into the sunset wouldn't be too bad either. Of course that's a HEA certified ending. I don't think we will get that. But its nice to wish.

None of this is going to happen if they decided to kill him. I don't know what kind of ending they have planned for him, but I hope it's good. I just don't want less than anyone else.  As long as he is in ME3 alive and well hopefully, with a well written story then that would make me happy. Whatever else they decided to give would be a nice bonus.

Thane isn't the marrying kind from what I've seen. I can see it happening for Shiara, not Shrios. Good morning, mnomaha!

He abandoned his wife and son. Not selfishly, but he did it. Combining that with a fatal mission and the fact his commander / lover has thoroughly provoked an entire race of sentient machines, and his terminal illness that may not be cured, I don't see marriage happening for Shrios. Not unless it was a testament, "last stand" thing against the Reapers. "We're gonna die tomorrow; let's get married."

But I also don't need them to get married. For me, marriage isn't a ceremony or certificate. So.

Half of my Sheps romanced Thane. :) I feel bad for the others, one stayed true to Kaidan, I don't know what's wrong with her. The other is a Garrus gal, tall and awkward is hot. XD

Raven, raven, raven. :) You have many good points.

Thane did abandon his wife and child. He Was suicidal. The odds are against Shep et al.

On the other hand, Thane wants to make the galaxy a brighter place. Marrying Shep could be a testament to that belief. Something good in the chaos of the times.

I, personally, want an epilogue where we are told what happens. If they do marry or what.

If Shep dies, via self sacrifice. Well, I hope she can take Thane with her.

WIN.

Y'all are so full of awesome.  Why do I bother trying to be sensible on the DA2 forums when I can just come have fun here?

On the marriage thing: This is why I prefer open-ended epilogues.  I think it would depend on the Shepard.  Shep in general doesn't strike me as a marrying type, but each person's character is different.  And sure, each LI might have their own opinions, but it's a two-way street in relationships.  My FemShep is skittish as hell.  If Garrus wants to tie the knot, it'll take a lot of patience and time on his part to convince her.

COOKIES!  :o

The TOR forums are worse.  Not even the prospect of delicious dark side pie could ever get me to dip a toe in there again.  Star Wars fans + MMO + internet = Fan Dumb singularity.  Never have I met a group of fans who despise their fandom, the creators, themselves, and each other more on average than Star Wars fans.

I used to hang out in the DA forums a lot more, but it's getting hard to tell the genuine concerns from the wankery.  Every time I see a "but I wanna be the WAAAARDEN and bang MOOOORRIGAN" thread, my first instinct is to apply forehead to keyboard with liberal force.

I don't think Thane is so scarred from his previous marriage, that he won't want to marry Shepard.

I don't see them marrying though, more like making some vows to each other or exchanging some kind of token that only them know about...

Personally, I feel the best thing that could happen would be Thane and Shep declare their love to one another and go on that desert vacation. Marriage... well, maybe they could discuss it lightly, but I don't see it in the game itself. I like it left to post-game imagination... epilogue material, if you like. I guess one reason I balk at the whole marriage thing in games is because so often it leads to the whole "they got a little cottage and started popping out little babies" deal... which is just so off-putting to me. No way would my Sheps do that. If they do get married, there would be no behbehs for my Shep. No matter who she romanced, no babies... no no no.

If you dump Thane by saying "I can't love a dying man," he'll respond, disappointed, with "We made no vows to each other, we are not bound" or something like that. Drell marriage is likely different from human marriage, and consists of different things. So, yes. On the one hand I can see them tying the knot. On the other, I don't know.

If death was absolute in the final mission, my Shep would be more open to marrying Thane -- to experience that last joy in life the enemy couldn't take away from her. If death wasn't absolute for her, she'd be willing to marry Thane to give him that last joy in life his illness couldn't take away from him.

If they both live and Thane is cured, it would depend on him. Now that he isn't going to die, how does that make him feel? What does he want?

EDIT: Agree with Tentura. While I love children, and so does my Shep, they aren't for her. Not with her lifestyle. :P Not unless she settled down / retired with Liara or something.

@Tentura. I also have a hard time seeing my Shepards as the motherly type.

The one I romanced Thane with is earthborn, so being the oldest in the orphanage she had to help out with the kids, and she pretty much is totally fed up. XD

So even if she had stayed with Kaidan, no kids!

I agree, abnocte. It's not that Shep hates kids. It's just that having children would impact her life in a huge way ... one that I don't think she would want. Plus - having a baby is a *decision* (or at least, ideally, it should be!). In a game where the player's decisions are supposed to be of such importance, they'd better not make that one for me. Same with marriage, really.

I don't see a marriage persay, but something like a binding. Maybe like a handfasting, um, maybe without the naked bonfire dancing. Unless my friend was joking about the naked part. What I am saying is that it would be different for them. Humans marry, but it sounds like Drell exchane vows with a bond. And, whilst I would love to see a baby shrios, I really don't see that happening. You are correct and it doesn't fit with either of their lifestyles.

Just a thought:

They don't avoid death: they walk beside death and sometimes, they are death.

God, I hope they don't pull a baby Shrios. I love how they handled the half-elf dilemma in DA where all offspring of humans and elves are humans, but I don't think it would work the same way with humans and aliens. Not unless a Shep-Thane baby was like, a human with solipsism or something.

Ladies, you are awesome! I agree, completely. Like I said, I just want Thane. That's it. I am the living in the moment kind of gal anyway.
