I feel a teeny bit bad for killing Kaidan. It's better than most NPCs I kill/watch die get from me--Carth got evil cackling, Isolde got "good f-ing riddance," Aribeth got "DIE IN A FIRE YOU HORRIBLE CREATURE"....twice. But poor Kaidan was just so...meh.



Still, being relatively uninteresting doesn't mean you deserve to die in a nuclear explosion. Wish I could've killed Aribeth that way. For the third time.

Thane is really recognized as the best character in 2010 IGN?

P.S. I specially killed Aleko in ME1 that was not even a picture on my table.

I have done all of these things and everyone did live.  I think you can also send Kasumi through the vents and it works out fine. Most of the time I have Garrus as leader. Sometimes Miranda, and once Jacob. They all work, but most of the time I use Garrus. Alwayas use Jack or Samara. They are the only two strong enough to hold the barrier.  I only romanced Kaidan once. He is alive in 3 other playthroughs but no romance.

Yes Thane being recognized as the best character by IGN is good news.

Aw, this is so cute and beautiful!

About that line of Thane's, Collider is right. It is also the same exact line he says if you don't romance him, except in that case he will call you Shepard instead of Siha.

As for Thane's opinion on keeping the base (should you do that), he essentially says that he's uncomfortable with the decision because he doesn't trust the Illusive Man but does trust Shepard -- since Shepard, after all, gave the base to TIM. Other than that, not much is different.

Hey guys, just popping in a post on my break here at work. I got told that Tali and Legion are the ones to go in the vents (although Thane can be picked, this makes me wonder if he has tech abilities AS WELL!!) And I got really confused because even though they were loyal, whoever went crawling died... Then I realised that whoever you appoint as squad leader has an effect on whether or not your tech speiclaist lives or dies. I had been appointing Samara, because she seemed like the logical choice, Miranda approved, and I wanted to keep Garrus with Shepard.

Then I realised if Garrus was the squad leader, then no one dies. So I did that and it was fine and dandy...



The suicide mission was the only mission since recruiting Garrus that I didn't take him on

Yeah, I have witnessed the slide of death for Garrus and Thane. The first time I actually caught my breath ready to scream!!!

If you send Thane into the vents as your tech specialist, he gets shot in the face. As an assassin I'm sure he has a good grasp on tech, but he falls just short of Tali or Legion's abilities.

I try to send logical choices. I'm not going to send an assassin to override the systems when I have a geth, I'm not going to let a scientist who spends most of his time holed up in a lab on the ship lead a distraction team when I have my headstrong second-in-command, etc. I think I assign Garrus as the second fire team leader just so he can feel good about not getting everyone killed like the last time he was head of a team.

Funny Kaidan glitch

I remember in my first playthrough I was tempted to use Thane as second squad leader and then I went....

"That doesn't make much sense, he always works alone, so he cant know how to handle a team. Samara, same as Thane. There's no way I 'm trusting Miranda o Jacob, so Garrus!"

I was really pleased when I found out that such little decisions were actually taken into account in the game. Most games would have allowed you to put anyone in charge in any position.

WTF how have I never seen this??  I am laughing so hard right now.

I've had Thane and other characters glitch into the air, floating on some unseen surface, but no one has ever... pranced around like that.
