Me:

What have I done???
Hmm... how to get this back on track, here... ummm. When you talk to Thane to start his loyalty mission, doesn't he mention that he had arranged for a package to be given to Kolyat upon his death? Kolyat got it early, and learned about his father's past. So, do we know what was in the package? What would Thane have left for his son?

Thane said the items in the package were from his "ill spent life" or something along that note. I can't help but think he left a pistol, perhaps a long overdue letter of explanation, and the holo of Mouse. Something that triggered Kolyat's anger. I'm curious about why he went to the Citadel in the first place. Did someone tip him off about his father's package? Was he just exploring worlds outside Kahje? Or was he out there looking for his father?

I think Kolyat would be angry because he is still trapped in the past. My Shep would definately go out of her way to make peace with Kolyat, hopefully having a close relationship with him. I'm sure he's a good kid, just incredibly angry. Justifyably so.

@ Collider: I don't think Kolyat would be too mad about his dad dating Shep. I mean, it's not like Thane left his mother for her. But, on the other hand, maybe it would annoy him that Thane is so loyal to Shepard, when he let his work come between him and Irikah. Maybe, in Kolyat's eyes, that would make it seem like he loves Shepard more. I think most of his anger would still be directed at Thane, though.
I think my Shepard would try to stay out of the way a bit, at least until Thane and his son mend things between them. After that, I can see her forming some kind of friendship with him. He's important to Thane, so she would definitely care about him.

That reminds me. So, how does Kolyat react to female Shepard dating his father? Will your Shepard go out of her way to get to know Kolyat?
He probably will be a little upset if he sees his father being there for Shepard and protecting her when he couldn't do those things for Irikah. Shepard also didn't make the greatest first impression. She either hit him, or shot him or killed the hostage depending on what dialog you choose. Eventually I think he will come around, but he needs to work out his issues with Thane first.

Where did you get that box cover?
Found it in the Share Your Shepard thread. Imagine Thane if he were voiced by Billy Crystal...

I never understood how renegade was fun. To me, Shep was just cranky and demoralizing. The only two ren. lines I can think of that got a giggle out of me were Shep's reaction to the Rayya captain if they brought Leeg on board Tali's LM and his / her renegade persuasion option in the Citadel Souvenirs shop.
*Shepard walks out into the street and starts shouting.*
"Hey, everyone! This store discriminates against the poor!"
*snerk*
Paragon was more fun to me. Subtly dangerous and alarmingly polite can be a great combination. Like shoving a gun in someone's face and then calmly thanking them for their cooperation. As for which one fits better with Thane, Shep is an influential person. Whether (s)he is paragon or renegade doesn't matter as long as Thane can trust them. And as for his personal alignment, I would consider him paragade. Neutral. He's polite, gentlemanly, but he has little regard for the law or social standards.

In answer to the Paragon/Renegade question, my only female Shepard is a Renegade (not purely Renegade), and I think the romance with Thane goes just fine. I can't really articulate the philosophy behind it, but I'm sure Renegade Shepard goes well with Thane.

Garrus+Thane = awesomeness implosions!!! Garrus is in the middle of the alignment scale, so he lurves paragon or renegade Shepard, even more when she is a paragade.
Gotta go to work. I'll be back!!

My Shep is very justicar-ish in terms of alignment. Cold, remorseless, but fighting on the side of good and not without manners or some form of diplomacy. She gets the job done, but she'll do it preserving as many lives she can.
Unless you're a complete dick to Thane, I think he doesn't care too much. Renegade Shep goes well with Thane as much as Paragon Shep, and everything in between. And isn't that good news? He loves her no matter how much of a raving **** she is.

I do agree with FieryPhoenix that Renegade is HILARIOUS. If played right. A lot of Renegade dialogue options in normal conversations are just Shep being a sarcastic ass, and it's pretty great. It fits wonderfully for my jerkass-with-a-heart-of-gold Renegon. I do agree that some major Renegade choices are pretty yuck in terms of just making me feel bad, though.

I've seen those. They're awesome and admittedly, I've chosen some of those dialogue options. Buuuut I have 1,000+ paragon points vs. about 100 renegade points anyway.

JEC, you should spend the next ten minutes watching this, then get back to me:
Some of those renegade lines are funny. At least now I know what happens if I make those choices. Everytime I try to be more renegade I just can't seem to do it.
