I initially thought Thane would be like dark chocolate (addicting, bittersweet, and puts me on a sugar high) but Morrigan has dibs on that so I'm not sure if there's another kind of food that's like it.  Any ideas?

What's this rumoured DLC that peeps are talking about? Are they still planning for other DLCs for ME2? I thought Lair of the Shadowbroker was the last one.

Btw have you guys been to the BioWare blog? I love this ME2 Christmas card they posted.  I wish there was a Thane Christmas card.

I'm actually really worried about the consequences for "cheating". It was the very first thing confirmed to have an impact on ME3. As many of you probably already know, I generally play a male Shepard, but my one and only female Shepard romanced Kaidan in ME1 and now she's in love with Thane and is not about to move on any time soon. In the storyline section yesterday, someone suggested that the consequences for cheating (I know it isn't technically cheating, but so to speak) should not be the two love interests fighting over Shepard since that sounds immature and rather unoriginal, but it should be that both of these love interests simply agree to leave Shepard, since s/he wasn't true to him or herself and just messed up the whole thing intentionally.

While this does in fact sound like a consequence, I think it's a bit too harsh, but I can also see it happening, at which point I would have to create another female Shepard and play through the games again just to have a clean romance with Thane.

Life is tough.

It is a bit harsh and I don't think they would go that far. Look at what happened in LotSB. Liara got mad at first and then got over it.  You can even go back to her. I don't really know what they will do. I haven't cheated myself, but  I have been thinking about it just to see what happens. I wouldn't be to worried. The most they will do is make you make a choice. I just don't think you are going to have serious consequences. I know that is what they said, but they say a lot of things. I also don't think anyone is going to get into any kind of fight. That would just be silly. Why should you be punished for moving on to someone else. Liara is the only one that could be considered cheating. Especially if you went back to her in LotSB.

It adds flavor to the story. Past love interests colliding with present love interests. It isn't "cheating" so much as just moving on. And I don't really understand why the possible confrontation in ME3 is dreaded. Kaidan practically dumps you on the spot and Liara only gets mad if you perform the three paragon interrupts during LotSB, otherwise she just says she knows about your LI, talks about them on the Normandy and even comforts/advises you about the issues your relationship might present. For instance, if you mention that you're worried about Thane, she'll tell you that you're experiencing the same thing as an asari with a shorter-lived spouse.

The only confrontation I'd worry about is Ashley. She's less forgiving than Liara and she sends a rather touching, reassuring email.

I definitely don't consider it "cheating" after the way Kaiden treated me! Shouldn't he have been HAPPY I'm alive? Shouldn't he have listened? But no, he acted like every one of my highschool boyfriends (lol) And that email. OMG! Seriously? I read that thing to my current RL sweetie and he was just as shocked as I was. Way to be vague and unsupportive, jerkface-Kaiden!



I think, as many have already said, it's simply a matter of moving on. This time, moving on to MUCH better things. I didn't really like Kaiden to begin with, but I enjoy my occasional smut, so I did it. On all my other playthroughs though, I went for the blue alien love. She's a LOT more understanding than Kaiden ever was. And honestly, she seemed to be very much at peace with the fact we'd BOTH grown and changed over the two years. She didn't really seem upset at all about it, and she did comfort me about my worry over Thane. So I think it's all good.



Can't stand Kaiden. ~bristles~



My boyfriend and I have discussed how GOOD this game is if it can make you feel real attachment, and real grief when the relationship is over. That's really saying something!

And yeah I'm on the same boat as you Opty and Tentura. I was all "meh" with the Kaidan romance and only did it because of the smexy love scene :XD: Why can't we have that kind of scene with Thane?!?!

I KNOW it!  That makes me sad.

I hope they give us a little more in ME3.  Now I just have to survive on your smexy fanart!!

Once again, LMAO!  Damn, why didn't I find this thread sooner? I've been so long in my lonely little Than and Garrus love nest. It's nice to have some company. . . and of course, now I get as much Thane & Garrus smut as I can handle!

And yes, I FULLY agree. . . why can't we have some cheek-blushingly hot in-game sex scenes with Thane? I have FRAPS finally, and I'd love nothing more than to play that one over and over. (Would it then be called FAPS? lol, sorry, sorry. . . I'll go back to my corner now ~snicker~)

I'm terribly sorry to disappoint you ladies (and gents), but my scalepr0ns evening pulled hard to port yesterday as a set of family friends declared they were coming over today to stay for a night or two. This cataclysm set into motion a furious set of tidying up the house, grooming our doggies, finishing Christmas preparations... and so on. I promise you though, within the next week I'll bring you some Thane-y goodness! Probably in form of both fic and art.



About cheating - it kinda nags me everytime people call it cheating. MyShep romanced Kaidan in ME1 and would have surely romanced him in ME2, had he not blown it with a behaviour that damn well cleared that he wasn't up to the task of being Shepard's man.



And if I remember correctly, wasn't he getting it on with some doc on the Citadel and calling it moving on? So how's that different from what Shep's doing in ME2?



I'm really excited to see how it affects ME3 though. It seems reasonable that you can't resume your ME1 LI and rebuild the relationship even if you wanted (in my case though, sure as hell not looking back from the green marvel).

That video's the reason why I got that Katy Perry Song.  That song plus other Mass Effect songs I got from iTunes gave me an idea to put my own "Mass Effect" playlist which also includes other songs from my collection that reminded me of Thane and his romance.

Someone please tell me I'm not going too far with my obsession.

I have an RPG playlist.  The songs in it remind me of everything from BG to KOTOR to Mass Effect.  And Garrus and Shep get about three or four songs just for them.  So if you ARE going too far, you're not alone

Thane can snap 26 and a quarter necks in half an hour. He can also engage in the more intimate uses for biotics and his skills as an assassin in an hour, definately...

As for what food the characters remind in ME2 remind me of...

Thane=mango and passionfruit smoothie. He is smooth and passionate.

Jacob=Jacob's crackers, plain and dull until you smother cream cheese all over (yeah, I went there, I think his only redeeming feauture is his old spice guy's torso!)

Tali I agree with Sable again, she is a sweetie!

Wrex=steak and ale pie. Tough and chewy, but with a soft (bro) side.

Jack=White Russian. Nuff said.

Samara=an iceberg (cold, but there is so much more underneath than what you see above the water's surface.) - Hey, I really like that one! Hehe.



As for Garrus...

Spaghetti bolognasne. A bit messy, a bit awkward, but so very delicious that it is totally worth it!!!
