FRSH - Some of the tunes I have in the Thane folder is challenging and inspirational. Helps me write my fanfic and gives me ideas. AND, some is hopelessly romantic, but hey, I am what I am, and I do enjoy some romance. Keeps my marriage of over t----y years going strong..........

Who wants to play a Thane game!!

(I'm not as creative as our house 'lurker' Aello, but here is an attempt at a game!)

It's similar to a game we played recently, we are writing our own fanfic guys, but with a twist...

For every post we write a line about Thane and his siha, but you have to start each sentence with a letter of the letter of the alphabet, starting with a until we get to z.

Who's up for it! I'll start!

Completely random, but thinking of Thane's recruitment mission reminded me of his loyalty mission. I've probably had to reload that one more than any other. I always get lost in videogames. Always. And that mission was designed for getting lost. The beginning and end are pure awesome, but I really don't like the middle "follow the guy around while trying to figure out a maze" part (but I forgive it because there's a dancing turian). xD

@Hedgepath: I like those two songs. I never realized how well "Bring Me To Life" works for Thane's romance (just never thought about it because I already associate it with other characters), but wow, that one's perfect. "Leave Out All The Rest" makes me think of Thane and Kolyat, for some reason... I guess because it wouldn't have worked for the FemShep who was going to romance Thane before I realized they weren't right for each other.

"Give Me A Sign" has been taken by a turian kid I made up. xD Maybe that's part of the problem finding new songs for characters like Thane, and even Garrus. I think, "well, this one could work, but it's already this character's song."

Inspirational is definitely a good way to describe Thane songs, and his romance too.

hanar - what are your thoughts on Linkin Park's "What I've Done"?? In relation to Thane's feelings of atoning for the past.

Hedgepath: I totally agree that "Bring Me To Life" is really about Thane and his Siha.  I have that song as well on my playlist <3

I was inspired to make this Thane+femshep image by listening to "Stay" by Shakespeare's Sister. I love that song.

One other song I'd like to mention is 16-Bit's version of "Toxic"  - I love how it starts all chimey like you're really starting to hallucinate and then the heavy bass and low synth kicks in and it turns into a sexy, sexy song perfect for FemShep's sexytime with Thane. I'm just saying.

Not as sure about that one.
'Leave out all the rest' does have a few lines that don't fit as well as the others but 'What I've done' doesn't have much that fits at all.

'What I've done' seems to be a song about starting over and totally erasing the past.
Thane doesn't want to erase the past, his life isn't a life of regrets.
It does fit in the sense that Thane wants to atone, though.

Within Temptation's song "Stand My Ground", reminds me of Shep "taking on the Reapers" with her team (esp Garrus) as back-up...imo

Did any of you think about not romancing Thane when you found out he was dying?

My husband asked me that question the other day when he found out Thane was dying. I know that is one of the reasons people sometimes give for not trying his romance. I know it would be so much easier if he weren't dying and a lot less to worry about, but it wasn't going to stop me from trying the romance.

I can't believe how fast this thread is growing. It so nice to see all these new people.
