I don't think Thane thought he could. That too much time has passed and he didn't have a way to explain what happened. I also think that Thane didn't want to endanger Kolyat any further. So if someone connected to one of those Thane took out came after him again, then he wouldn't lead them to his son. So out of love, he stayed away. To ensure Kolyat's safety and to allow Kolyat to have a different kind of life, one where he would be free of Thane's "influence." Meaning, perhaps Kolyat would choose a different path in life and not one where he is a "tool" of others.
I think Thane thought of Kolyat a lot. He even says he went back but Kolyat was older. Thane is also a very good assassin, perhaps he didn't think there was anything he could offer his son. Its only when Kolyat was in danger, then Thane knew he could do something to protect him. Perhaps after even help Kolyat chose a different life than Thane.
"You heard her Thane! Now off with those clothes!"
Thanks, I understand it a bit more now. I can see Thane's side of it more as well. Not worried about Thane and Kolyat now, you have made it all clear!
Now, off with those clothes!

I think remorse and guilt (maybe shame?) were main reasons why Thane didn't contact Kolyat sooner. He tracked, tortured and killed Irikah's murderers. I believe this was Thane "acting out" because of guilt at not being there to protect his family.........Because this pattern was different than his usual "quick & without suffering" kills, he felt remorse. Then, looking back on the few memories (he has perfect recall) that he missed with his wife and son, because of his job, ("dance crazy", ".....I was always working"), I think he felt guilty, and perhaps shamed. (not really someone you want your kid to grow up and emulate, right?) So, he thought that Kolyat was better off without his influence (I don't think he wanted Kolyat to be like him, the past Thane. (present Thane is a good person, and Shep is helping them both to see that) He tried to atone by doing good things, "trying to make the universe a better place". I think once he came to terms with what he had done, and what he was going to do, he would have found Kolyat. Then, Kepral's came along (talk about kicking a guy when he's already down!), and he felt that it was what he deserved (fate my ass) for the life he led. So, he figured a note to Kolyat and a "good death" were all he deserved. Then, Shep came along, and helped him to see (and feel) differently. Okay, just my opinion, we are all "waxing philosophical" today.............
All very good points Hedge. I agree completely. Poor Thane and Kolyat!

Hello there!! Mordin is loved to bits! He gets all the best lines in the game. He was also a runner up on best videogame character of 2010 on IGN (Thane was first!)Ms. Lovey Dovey wrote...
Thane is my favorite character from ME2 (I also like Mordin). To me he has one of the best character depth and background within the game. I'm glad he's appreciated unlike poor Mordin Solus.
But Garrus... Ah well, everyone loves him anyway!
Ah, our Thane special Fornax magazine. That was a wonderful article gnas. Thane would be highly succssful and very much acclaimed if he made such an appearance.
Dat Bulge!!
And for Garrus (as was said on the Garrus thread recently.)
Dat voice!!!

Are we still on "S" for the game?? If so,
"Stop yanking my chain Joker and tell EDI to initiate protocol Shepherd One. Turning to Thane she said, "That's a privacy program that Tali & Legion are experimenting with, and I told them to use it in my quarter's first"............

Gnas - pardon the ignorance, but what are the steps to upload an image as you did? Could do it easily with old PC, this new PC with Windows 7 - I haven't mastered how to do it. Can direct me to a site if you'd rather, I just wanna upload some stuff that folks have asked me for.
If you have the images as jpeg/gif/png you can upload them to an image hosting site like photobucket. Just go to photobucket.com. Sign up. Then you can upload each image. Once you have them uploaded you can use the IMG code that is available with each image. Once you have the IMG code, you just paste it into the text box when you do a reply then it will show up as the image.
