Whoa! That image reminds me a lot of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, except Thane looks more awesome doing that than Sam Fisher!

Changed my profile pic! But I am still the Garrus/Thane crazy resident lunatic ;)

I hope everyone had a lovely christmas! I am getting ME1 and 2 for PC soon, so I will be doing a canon Shep on there, and Hedgepath will be guiding me with the mods for Thane and Shepard (if I come across any problems which I probably will!) So I am really excited! Been a while since I did a ME playthrough, it is better the longer you wait and that!

Although, ME1 first so a while until the Thane goodness ;)

heck no he doesnt.  If someone like Miranda can be brought into the world with genetic upgrades to make her live alot longer than other humans, than the Hanar can find a way to keep Thane from dying.  We need an assassin like him around.  Posted Image

Welcome!!!!!! The technology is around. Why can't the hanar cure Thane?
(Although, we have already discussed this, and we came to the conclusion that hanar are keeping the cure for Keprel's syndrome from us, so we will infiltrate a hanar hospital, even though, according to Garrus, hospitals aren't fun to fight through. However! Ravenimage will see the hanar as gummy bears, and eat her way through their hospital while we dodge lasers and stinging jellyfish tentacles. And then, when Raven is very full from gummy bear overload, we will obtain the cure!!)
Did I mention the Thane thread is full of insanity? Maybe one of the saner regulars should have welcomed you.... Posted Image

There is only one hanar who can cure Thane -- the only true hanar.

I have LOVED Sam since the very first SC game!  He is seriously badass when it comes to neck-snapping.  I wish Thane could do it in the campaign instead of just cutscenes, like Sam does.  I preferred the games (like Chaos Theory) where you use stealth heavily and try to clear a level *without* even having to kill anyone... over the newest ones (Conviction) where you mostly shoot everyone.  They used to make him very Thane-like.

Thane's quote describes him well: "I prefer to work quietly. If I have to fight through guards, I've made a mistake. I rarely make mistakes."

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Holidays!!

Hope everyone is having a nice christmas. We even got snow this year:)

I whish a lot of the characters did more cool moves in the game. Jack and Samara for example are introduced as super biotics though they dont really have any special moves like you see in their cutscenes. Like Jack killing several heavy mechs. Though maybe it would make the game to easy

I guess its just the limitations of the game. Some part of me almost whish they would have gone for less characters and put a little more time into the gameplay of each one. A necksnap move from Thane would have been wicked.

But there will be Saren screenshots for me in the Garrus thread, right? :D (Garrus too, of course. But if my Saren sculpture is going to be done right, I need screenshots of his fringe. And other screenshots just because he's my favorite. xD)

Well, as "one of the saner regulars" (and apparently the only one... xD), I kind of like that plan if the hanar really do have a cure and kept it secret. I will send a Shepard to free it. Not ThaneShep. Not former ThaneShep. Not even MainShep. My Earthborn Ruthless. >:D The hanar won't know what hit them.

Hey, I'm sane too!  Kind of

IMO keeping the cure "secret" doesn't really benefit the hanar any.  If they DID cure Kepral's, it would just make the drell even more grateful to them, wouldn't it?  I think it's more likely they're just dragging their tentacles--curing Kepral's is just not a priority for them.  But it is still fun to imagine an EvilShep storming Kahje

I dunno... I still think that the hanar would be absolutely stupid to cross the drell. Would they really risk the backlash - potentially losing their aid completely? Not that the hanar always give the impression of intelligence... but, still.

I will admit that fighting the jellies would be highly amusing, though... lol.

Awesome, I'm not the only sane one. xD (Now I wonder if any of my Shepards have ever said that. Nah, probably just the squad. Tali would say it when MainShep recruits Thane.)

If my EvilShep attacked a hanar research facility, it would be a massacre. But if my Earthborn Ruthless did, it would at least be funny. Just imagine him coming back with his armor covered in jelly and telling Thane, "I got your cure. Don't ask me how." Then Garrus would say that a hanar got scared when he charged it.

I'm in for storming the castle hannar reseach facility.

But I think we may be underestimating them. You know, we just don't really know how many Blasto are out there.... :P

Just a little thought: I have heard several people lately describe Thane's character as too overloaded with downers and drama. Namely, his dead wife, estranged son, *and* terminal illness. How do you feel about this? Do you think it's too much, or do you like it as it is? Do you think he'd be more believable/relatable without one of the three? (Don't just say disease because you want him better!!) Lots of people say his illness defines him as a character - do you feel that is true or do you think the other two have more impact on him?

Illness and dead wife/estranged son is an odd choice.

Well, may be Bioware went a little overboard with Thane, but its not like there aren't books or movies with characters with even more drama to them...

His dead wife and estranged son are both the result of his work, I can't see one without the other. For me it would be less believable if Thane had kept his son, or if his son didn't blame him for Irikah's death.

About his illness, depending on how Bioware handles it in ME3 I would feel one way or another.

I see Thane as a very complete character, illness aside. If I think about it I can understand why other people see he is overloaded, but since in ME2 you don't really see the effects of his illness I usually don't even remember about it, meaning that for me it isn't a defining trait of his personality.

His impending death plays a role in what he decides to do with his life after getting revenge, but I think he would have chosen the same path either way. After all he lost the love of his life ( before Shepard, of course ;) ), his son and the life he had with them in a brutal way, and his response was as brutal and showed a side of him I think he himself didn't even know it existed, that has to change you on way or another, so I don't think he needed his illness to reflect on things.

Conclusion: Anyone that says his illness defines him just didn't bother listening/understanding him.

Edit: Danm! pushed enter by mistake and posted halfway my post!!! :pinched:
