If you had an ME1 LI and you left them for someone in ME2 would you go back to the ME1 LI in DLC or ME3 if given the opportunity? Like in LotSB you can go back to Liara if you want to. It seems like a lot of people went back to Liara.

Nope. Wouldn't go back to Kaidan. Jane likes to keep her word.

I'm faithful to Ashley with my male Shepard, though.

That's a great render. I wish I had a Thane model. I really have no clue how to make one.

I wouldn't go back either. My Shepard found what she was looking for in Thane.

My FemShep romanced no one but Garrus, so it's ok for her. My ManShep is dumping Ash for Miranda, and I have a very hard time seeing him going back. It's not really Ash's fault per se, and I think her reaction on Horizon was understandable, but calling my ManShep a traitor to the Alliance is just not something you do with the expectation of staying on his good side. It's kind of his berzerk button.

That was one of the things that really bothered me about Horizon. That and the fact that Kaidan wouldn't even listen. The email didn't really help. I did hear that Ashleys email was a little better. Kaidan didn't really seem to be to sure if he wanted to continue a relationship.

I actually wanted to romance Garrus once, but I just couldn't continue for various reasons. I can see how some enjoy his romance, though.

I don't think Ash and Kaidan's respective freak-outs are unreasonable--I mean, how well would you take it if your lover resurfaces after being dead for two years and turns out to be working with known terrorists?

But I also think it's fair for Shep to call blank slate on the relationship after that, depending on the Shep.  My ManShep does not take accusations of his loyalty lightly, and Horizon REALLY pissed him off.  My FemShep took the whole thing much more in stride, mostly because she understood how it might look from Ash's position.

But at any rate, it seems like the maliens win.  Mmmm...sexy aliens

I understand why they reacted the way they did. My only issue is them not really listening to what you have to say, and calling you a traitor. I don't feel that my Shepard had done anything wrong. My Shepard doesn't need to be told who and what Cerberus is. She knows full well who she is working for. Hopefully this will all get resolved in ME3 or maybe some dlc, as long as they don't try to make Shepard apologize.

THIS.

I don't think Shep has anything to apologize for.  My FemShep loathes Cerberus.  She swallowed her pride and put herself under enormous emotional strain for the greater good of the galaxy.  No way is she apologizing for that, and if someone tries to wrangle an apology out of her, I'll punch their teeth out.

Catharsis is nice.  I'm all for catharsis resolving Horizon.  Guilt-mongering (on either side)...eh, not so much.

Exactly.

I have two Shepards that are sole survivors. She would rather not work for the people who had a hand in that. Then there is the fact that you can't even call them on it. My Shepard sees the bigger picture. She is trying to save these human colonies, and Cerberus is the only one willing to help. Shepard should have to apologize for that.

Also, Shepard wasn't so much working for Cerberus as she was working with them. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Agreed 100%.  That's always how I see it.  It was only the most efficient means to an end for my Shep.  She dropped TIM like a bad habit as soon as possible.  When Kai called her a traitor and wouldn't let her explain herself she definitely wanted to sock him across his pretty little face.

My MainShep is pretty much the opposite. She loves working for TIM. xD (Of course, that relationship will get complicated real fast if Evolution is going in the direction I think it's going.) She would definitely have responded a lot worse on Horizon if she could have, like bringing up the fact that the Alliance betrayed her first.

Anyway, that's off-topic... I plan for ThaneShep to destroy the base because of what Thane says if Shepard wants to keep it, but not exactly leave Cerberus. She wouldn't turn away a potential ally, but she will stand up to them if she thinks they've gone too far.

The thing is, you never were working for Cerberus. You were working with them. It's even implied in certain conversations with Timmy.

On my first playthrough as a female Shepard, I wanted to keep the base. Just as I was going to make the decision, Thane said it: "Siha, I've made a life of killing those who deserve to die. We must struggle to not become what we have." You can guess what happened next.

Yeah, that's what I meant, working with them. Poor choice of words. Even more so considering that's one of the things MainShep likes best, working with TIM rather than working for the Alliance and Council.

The fact that Thane and the FemShep I originally wanted to romance him completely disagreed about that line (she doesn't hate Cerberus or the idea of keeping the base), I had to make it an important line when I created this new FemShep. She can have a hard time doing the right thing instead of the practical thing, and Thane is perfect to help out with that - rather than the first FemShep who has no interest in doing the right thing.

I always found it interesting that Thane is weirdly Paragon for an assassin.  When I think of assassins, I think of dudes like Ezio and Zev, not Thane   You'd think a guy who kills people for a living would be more ok with making more pragmatic decisions.  But I guess Thane's spiritual side outweighs what callousness his profession would impart.

Not like my poor FemShep.  On my most recent playthrough, I noticed how ruthless and downright icy Shep can get.  A lot like Thane, now that I think of it, before his "awakening."

I know, right? xD Katherine Shepard/Cousland's love of assassins doesn't quite work on Thane. She can have Kai Leng. I was amazed by all of the little things those two have in common, but she's a Renegade, so it makes sense. The new FemShep is a Paragade. Someone with morals works better with Thane, I think. (Not that Katherine doesn't have morals... just less of them. A lot less. But she's a pretty good example of my favorite trope, Even Evil Has Standards.)

I'm usually all paragon. The Shepard that I have for Garrus is a little mix of both pragon an renegade. I think Thane can work with renegade, but I just like being mostly paragon with my ThanSep.

I agree that Shepard is working with Cerberus not working for. My poor choice of words.

I don't think it's even just MORALS.  Someone who romances Thane has to be at least a bit of a heart person to get through to him.  My Paragade holds herself to ridiculously high moral standards, similar to Samara though her own code is far more utilitarian.  I wouldn't say she's an intrinsically GOOD person the way Garrus is, but she's certainly a scrupulously moral one.  But she decidedly lacks the emotional warmth needed to engage someone like Thane.  It's not a big deal with most of the rest of the crew:  Grunt, Jack, even Garrus benefit from her more sober and reasoned approach to their problems.

But Thane needs someone to wake him up again, shake him out of his holding pattern.  There are certain kinds of people who can do that, and certain kinds of people who can't.

I remember when Kaidan was going off on my Shepard. I wanted to hit him too! I told my husband there should have been an option to sucker punch the #$@#$$%! I still think he needs to be smacked for saying Shepard is a traitor. Or left to hang in a very precarious predicatment for a few seconds longer. That's just me though.
