Any Shep who pulls that s*** deserves to be summarily decked by both LIs.  That's just not cool.  It's the only romance conflict in ME2 that I would consider a clear-cut case of cheating, and it's pretty bad.

I agree with Sable, I have a hard time imagining any of the other LIs doing anything like that, well maybe Tali but she was too high on antibiotics to do so

BAHAHAHA!  You know the bad thing is that both Sheps of mine are so rawr Momma Bear/Papa Wolf toward Grunt that I can kind of see this sort of fail happening.

Oh, and another reason I think Thane might've been the only one with a letter is that he's the only who has a reason to write a letter like that. That combined with Sable's suggestion that it's just in his nature to be someone who'd do that. Dying of a terminal illness tends to make you want to leave a piece of yourself behind for the ones you love just to have closure. I'll go out on a limb and say Thane would probably write a letter for Kolyat, too.

Did I already say something like that earlier? I'm having one of those days where I repeat myself. If so, I apologize.

You're write Garrus probably woudn't write Shepard a love letter. I'm was just wondering why they didn't give the other LI's some kind of romantic content. Not a letter like Thane, but something that fits their character. It just worries me a little. I just hope it's not Biowares way of tell us to say goodbye to Thane.

@raven I think Thane probably did write a letter for Kolyat also.

I wouldn't call it romantic as it can be seen by FemShep, but Tali makes vaguely suggestive references in her dossier. She downloads something from the extranet called Human Courtship & Mating. And since she has a crush on ManShep, I suppose you could consider it romantic if you're playing as him.

Still, nowhere near Thane's letter.

See, in my playthrough with FemShep I rationalized it as Tali seeing Garrus and Shep getting their awkward flirt on and being subsequently curious then REALLY confused   And I'm probably going to rationalize it the same way with ManShep, since imagining her with romantic feelings toward him kinda breaks my brain.  I think the Tali romance is very sweet, but my ManShep is 100% her homicidally overprotective big brother.

Manshep? Why would you do that? Besides, I think all the LI for femshep are better anyway . I love Tali, but as a sister. Miranda's romance was there for the little boys who just stare at dat ass! Jack's romance was beautifully done, but I don't think it fit in with her character. Liara's was much better in ME2. However, Thane and Garrus are still the best ones. Finally got a pic of my femshep for you all.

However, I have recently used a hair mod to give her better hair, so she looks different now. Haven't recruited Thane yet, but prepare for screenies when I do. Maybe I can compete with Raven for 'dat bulge' competition!!

Miranda IMO gets flack for her final romance scene, but the romance itself is thoughtful, surprisingly touching, and has a hysterical slap-slap-kiss element to it if you do it Renegade.  She actually calls him an ass--granted, my ManShep deserved it 

And for those of you who only play FemShep, I'd give ManShep a chance, if only in ME2.  I usually play female protagonists (except in tabletop and PbP), but I'm thoroughly enjoying ManShep.  It's all about coming up with a personality you like for the character, same as FemShep.  Also, I'd recommend playing him Renegade or Renegon--Renegade ManShep is just the most hilarious thing ever.

It also happens to be my ManShep who gets along with Thane and teases him mercilessly, so, you know, he's good for that.  My poor FemShep--WHY WON'T YOU BE FRIENDS <_<

Playing a ManShep isn't bad at all. I do prefer to play a FemShep, but I do have two male shepards. One romanced Liara and the other Tali. I was thinking about doing Jacks romance because I heard it was really good.

I liked playing a MShepard, but I have much more fun playing a FShepard. I do notice that I spend a lot of time on her looks. Its hard for me to make a face that I am satisfied with. Does anyone else find that they spend a lot of time on there Shepards looks?

Um, the most heartbreaking thing is reading Thane's letter on a playthrough where he died during the suicide mission. Someone on NSAS did it and God is it something...

Yeah, Garrus just isn't eloquent enough, and Jacob doesn't like talking about feelings.

But, I don't usually do, at least to me, unrealistic combinations. it's the usual combinations that I use that I see in everyday life. Like blonde hair, blue eyes or dark hair, dark eyes. I just can't bring myself to make my fem Shep to be a peacock in the chicken house.

I don't really do unrealistic combinations either. I don't make any of my Shepards blonde. They always have dark hair. Sometimes they have dark eyes and sometimes lighter. She has to look good for Thane.
