I saw you gnas *waves*
I like to pop to other threads too. New ones are more welcoming to new posters. But in some threads the regular posters like to stick with just them, so a new poster is usually ignored. But we are always enthusiastically welcoming fellow Thane lovers! I love how Raven handled one person attempting to troll our thread a while back.
Troll: Bury Thane in ME3!!
Raven: You mean bury him in fangirl hugs? Got it!

This was pure win, and we didn't even have to sink to their level. Loved it!!

I remember reading that post, and was glad that for the most part he or she was ignored. I did like what raven said though. I'm glad we don't get to many of them coming in here to often.

Yes it makes me sad he gets hated so much by some, but then again Garrus has been in two games, And maybe they went just a bit overboard with the angst, I still love him though and hope for a happy ending:crying:

It is sad that some people hate him for what ever reason. At least he doesn't get it as bad as Ashley, Kaidan and Jacob. It can get pretty bad for them. I do think that there are a lot of people who love Thane too. Just look at this thread and his support group.Posted Image

Kudos to Raven!

I was welcomed enthusiastically back in the day, partially due to my slightly mad posts and terrible sense of humour. Loving the adopting of the drellicking banner guys!

Just saw you on the Garrus thread too gnas, you sure are migrating!

So, I am having this really deep discussion about Kaidan on his new thread, so I thought I would start something here.

What would Thane's reaction be to Garrus' loyalty mission? Does he have the same attitude towards revenge (bearing in mind that he took his time with the Batarians that killed Irikah.)

Don't you see, they're in denial. They hear that soothing call of the zipper, of that luscious leather...luring them into Thane thread embrace, hoping for those chains of denial to be broken.
They feel it their chest, a strange, warm, fuzzy feeling, but they don't understand it. Pitty, lost souls, as they deny themselves the pleasure to explore the Thane-ness in all its glory.

Do you think Thane would name his jacket? His every speckle?? Posted Image

I think he would understand Garrus need for revenge, but he would not approve.

I say that because I dont think he approved of his own actions in killing the batarians. They might have deserved it but I think it made Thane uneasy to kill in anger and hate. Since he is usually in controlled and calculated. (if this makes any sense)

Loving the banner:)

Mornin'.

Aww, thanks guys. Thankfully we only get the lesser trolls. Some trolls are highly intelligent and can carry a convincing facade for quite a while. *wears her "special Internet Wildlife naturalist outfit"*

Yeah.

I agree with monimakitten, Thane feels guilt for his 'prolonged' assasination of the Batarians. And that is the only guilt he has ever felt for a target, because it is the only target where his emotions has clouded his control.

So I think Thane would be speaking from experience when he tells Garrus not to let his anger and revenge turn him into something he isn't. Although my Shepard would disagree.

Tash did you let Garrus kill Sidonis. I could never bring myself to let him do it. I always felt he would regret it later.

That was a dilemma for me, too. That whole Sidonis thing. In the end, I think I decided it wasn't Garrus at all to murder someone in cold blood, no matter what they'd done to him. But that's my paragon Shep's thinking.

Isn't this an adorable picture?

Did u let him kill Sidonis then? I stopped him, because Garrus is so just, that I always felt killing him would hurt Garrus in the end.

Hell yeah I did! Someone who killed their own squad and then hid like a coward deserves to die.

For Saleon, I shot him myself. Not an option with Sidonis, but if given the opportunity, I would have. One death is better if it prevents more deaths. That is my philosophy anyway.

How do I keep missing these things? xD MainShep approves. Very much. (She's has the Colonist background.) She wouldn't understand why Thane would feel guilt though. Their beliefs are very different about that. She supports revenge and was more than happy to help her squadmates get it.

Would Thane disapprove of Garrus' plan to kill Sidonis though? Does his guilt come from killing out of revenge, or the way he did it? The way Garrus killed Sidonis was more like an assassin.

Well he didnt actually physically kill them, he ratted them out. I always felt living with that guilt would be worse than dying, And if Sidonis was to die, I would rather have Shepard kill him and save Garrus from that pain and potential guilt. But I am a softy:blink:

I'm the complete opposite, actually. I don't think I'll ever manage to let the guy live. xD

I think I would have probably been fine if Shepard had killed him, but I couldn't let Garrus live with that. The one time I let him kill Sidonis it bothered me so much that I had to reload it so I could stop him.

He seemed to be sorry for what he did. I wonder if it will matter at all in ME3 if you let him kill Sidonis or stoped him.

Garrus can handle it. No one messes with him after all...

And if the situation was reversed to Thane, then I would let Thane kill him. Because he would feel it was something he needed to do in order to get over the betrayal. My Shepard would change her stance according to who it is. Thane is an assassin, he can handle killing people in cold blood. But that isn't want Garrus is. And Shepard would have shot Sidonis herself to protect Garrus from the guilt. Even though he seems to handle it fine. After all, he is just badass Posted Image

I know. It just... doesn't make a difference in my Shepards' opinions. Well, except for Earthborn Ruthless being happy that Sidonis was having nightmares. That made him feel better about Garrus choosing a death that he personally thought was too quick.

And now, I found another reason why my Shepards don't agree with Thane the way they do with Garrus. Most of them get along well with both, but as far as opinions and beliefs go, they tend to be more like Garrus.

The thing is whether its Thane or Garrus I dont think they are killing in cold blood. They are killing in anger and hatred. And I think that might cost them. Hower thats just my opinion

Yeah, my Shepards would let Thane do it too, if the situation was reversed.

My Shepards normally don't steal kills. If it's a situation where the person who wants revenge would get in trouble for it and Shepard wouldn't because of the Spectre status, some of them might change their minds - like with Toombs in ME1. (If only it was an option to let him kill the guy and have Shepard take the blame. That would have been perfect.)

I think Garrus is very much like them when it comes to feeling guilt over a revenge kill - he probably wouldn't. His guilt comes from the deaths of the rest of his squad, not Sidonis. If it bothered him too much, he wouldn't be "focused" for the suicide mission. Same with not killing Sidonis. Either way, he got some closure. Revenge was just the one he would have chosen for himself.
