That picture of Seren is scaring me.

I agree with what raven, JECWSU, Mnomaha & Tash have said about realistic cure, (no miracle cure),resolution (closure), an ending or death that is worthy of the universe/game (inspirational) versus "death by disease".
What I will add is - I don't want to see anything similar to the "resurrection from atmosperically dead" either, but that doesn't apply to Thane. Kepral's disease isn't like cancer. It is a massive bacterial infection that is resistant to the known antibiotics of the ME universe inhabitants. (The US has a bacterial resistant strain now called Vancomycin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, we've had 11 cases of VRSA in 8 years) The fact that we have discovered a combination of older, known antibx that can treat VRSA in this day and age, makes the death of Thane and other Drell from KS in the ME future, more "implausible and cheap" to me. I mean, they are light years ahead of us in medical science and technology (they brought Shep back from "space mush" after all), and they have soooo many more medical resources available, from so many different species, that a combination of antibx is available, the issue is finding it! (AND, a lung transplant will NOT cure Thane, the KS bacteria has already spread to other organs/areas in his body, so the transplanted lungs would become infected with KS fairly quickly, the risks far outweigh the benefits - so, that option is total ME fiction)
Throw in nano-tech (yep, Shep has 'em, so you know they're available), and a KS cure is NOT farfetched, but credible. His death from KS would be unbelievable and a cheap way to go. However if BW cured him, then killed him off with Shep (and other members of the Normandy) in a heroic "saved the universe" way, talk about your creative writing, and *applause*, I hear the award nominations already................ok, end of *rave* (not a rant)

I personaly do not want a tragic ending. I just want what every other LI is going to get. I don't think anyone here wants a miracle cure. I would like the chance to cure him though. I don't think the cure shoud come easy, and maybe it shoud come at a price. If not a cure than some kind of treatment to prolong his life until maybe a cure can be found. Maybe a choice for the player. Those who want to cure him can and those who don't won't. A dying man in a video game could be interesting if done right. I don't really know if they woud do his death justice. They would just kill him off and Shepard would just act like nothing happened. That would make me angry. If he has to die than I want it at the end of the game so we can have some closure. For me I just want him alive, and I do want some kind of happy ending. Not hollywoods version of a happy ending, because I don't think that would fit either character. At least something I can live with.
The more I think about it, the more stupid it seems - a bacterial infection? I am no medical doctor, but I am a scientist... and that does strike me as, well, kind of dumb. If they really wanted him to DIE in the ME storyarc, why not give him cancer, or even some drell-specific, made-up disease that sounded equally daunting? It's like they *want* us to cure it. *optimism time* Plus we wouldn't just be finding a cure for Thane... its for a whole race!Hedgepath wrote...

THIS. So much. If he dies and my Shep doesn't shed some tears and/or punch a dent into the wall of her cabin, I will be pissed.Juliaxo wrote...
What I would absolutely hate is if Thane dies no matter what and his death barely fazes my Shep. If she just moves on like nothing happened I would be furious. If he has to die it should mean something, not just be brushed aside.

MainShep would totally throw a dance party inside Sovereign if she had joined Saren (and she wanted to). Meanwhile, Saren would try not to laugh about the thought of what this must feel like to Sovereign, having someone dance in its... stomach? xD After I thought about it for a while, I now find it amusing that Saren can have furniture and basically use this living thing as his house if he wanted to.abnocte wrote...
I don't know why but in that pic Saren gives me the impression of being dancing or skating... makes me wonder what the hell Saren and the others where doing while inside Soverein, you know, the thing had no need for a crew, and you can just put that much of forniture to be thrown in a fit of anger...
I agree that Shepard should have a reaction if his/her romantic interest dies. Maybe a dialogue choice? I don't think tears would work for every Shepard - for some, definitely, but I don't see my ThaneShep as the type who would react like that. She's the type to punch a wall, for sure. Anyway, I'd rather there be no forced deaths for squadmates, but I really don't want a forced death for Shepard. No going out in a blaze of glory for my Shepards. They want to defeat the Reapers in a blaze of glory and live to brag about it with their friends/comrades/romantic interest.Tentura wrote...
