In my first playthrough when I went back to the Normandy... it was awful, so silent...it's funny how all those characters standing there added so much to the atmosphere even though you couldn't even talk to half of them!

I also missed Ken and Gabby a real deal, I just recently read that you can actually save Ken but not Gabby ( if you lose half of the crew )!!! how awful!   I want them back in ME3! Dr. Chakwas too! she owes me some Ice brandy!! Also recently noticed that theres no Dr. Chakwas support thread...thought she was more pupular

Mind you, after playing ME2 at my fella's and doing Garrus' RM. He thought he looked really cool. Then he took his helmet off, and he said,
'Na, he looked better with the helmet.'
Needless to say, I will have my revenge...

Don't worry Tasha I reloaded right after.
It was my first playthrough and hadn't romanced Thane yet, so I was still head over heels about him, actually my reaction was pretty similar to yours right now:

It's funny, I always though Turian helmet looked weird, so after some camera repositioning I realized why, theres no way they can put that thing on!!

Thane is my favourite LI and Garrus is my favourite best buddie/brother. I just love the whole Thane romance, it's well written and had better be continued in ME3. Don't make us break out the animations again!

I understand how you feel. I have never lost Garrus or Thane. I did loose Mordin on one playthrough and Tali on another. I did go back and fix it so everyone survived.

Raven, you so silly.  "Dude crawls in tunnels!"  It's kind of true.  I guess he's not techy, but still.  He was Mr. Air-Vent man in his recruit mission.  Not sooo far-fetched.  I didn't make that mistake, but I can kind of see how someone might.  The only mistake I ever made was to listen to Miri 'Any Biotic Can Do That' Lawson.  I don't even know why I did that... just trying to make her feel included, I guess, since I always made Garroo squad leader.  Thanks, chica... <_<

@Juliaxo: Late answer: I cannot let anyone die in the SM.  I am such a softy.  I love my whole crew, despite certain member's faults.  I wouldn't kill anyone on purpose.  But I can see what you mean about maybe making a save with only a few crewmmates... just to challenge yourself in ME3.  I believe I read on Christina Norman's twitter that it will be very difficult in that situation.  Might be fun!

I always make Garroo squad leader too, then again, I always do the complete opposite of what Miri suggests. Not "any" biotic can do that, as some terrible videos show our Thane being taken away. Can't be havin' that!

They didn't cut it out of the game. Someone heard it in the game, just not during the "hold the line" segment.

Eek, so much I'd like to respond to but I'm running on eastern time. It's about 2:13 AM here. I finally finished a report for my job after much procrastination and thought I'd look in on the thread before going to sleep (can you say obsession? lol Thane has that effect on me.)

First of all, welcome Raynbow!

In response to that motivational: Puh-lease. The Lagoon creature wishes he looked as good as Thane. ;D

I didn't make the mistake of sending Thane in the vents during the SM but I was tempted before I knew he wasn't 'qualified'. I think he should have been a valid option. He has to have some Tech skill. He's an assassin, afterall. He's probably had to break into places and bypass security sytems in order to reach his target. It'd make sense. :/

I'm pretty much the same way. I love them all so it's going to be tough. I still need to plan out how it would work to get the desired result. We'll see if I actually go through with it.

Actually, it is cut, Raven. This was supposed to happen if you romance Thane and assign him as Second Fire Team Leader on the suicide mission, at which point he will get shot in the gut and say that. But that's not the in the final game; it's been tested by multiple people. In-game, Thane will just say the generic "lost shields" line.

LOL, join the club, girlfriend.  East coast here, too.  I seem to be doing this a lot lately.  I am just gonna "check the forum real quick"... then I end up here for hours.  *sigh*

Might be fun.  If I did it, I think I would set one up with Thane and Garroo, too.  I might also do one with a couple more favorites, to see how that goes.  I don't know if I will make the ME2 save before release, or just do it after I've played through ME3 as an additional challenge.  If the last two games are any indication, we'll also have the challenge of running a playthrough on Insanity.  That's always a blast!  (Remind me I said that when I'm cursing at the game during my insanity run, lol.)

As for the DAO character creator, I don't use it. I just use lots and lots of mods.

Hmm, so less squaddies who survive the SM means the harder ME3 will be. I wonder if less squaddies means you will have some sort of "ultimate sacrifice" ending.
