raven - yep, you're right, he'll still be the same "I'll help if you do this for me", untrustworthy, "I know, you know I don't trust you one bit", kinda guy. The relationship won't change, I see them both acting as if it didn't happen. However, in my mind, Shep has put in alot of "cone of silence" type tech, to prevent TIM from listening in and/or "assuming direct control"...............

I'm not sure what to think about TIM. I guess it depends on how big of a finger you gave him. I doubt he'll send the whole of Cerberus after Shep, but wouldn't put it past him to put out a small contract on him/her. But, having said that, she has a Thane bodyguard. No worries.

Not only the Thane "on my body" guard, but I think Legion also, hell, all her squadmates would "have her back", and they don't appear to love dat TIM..........

i definitely 100% do not trust the illusive man.

the eyes are the window to the soul and his eyes are steely and artificial

so i think his soul is probably nonexistent.

Call me optimistic but I sense a good person buried in the Illusive Man somewhere. From what I've heard he had a family -- key word had, and he turned into the "human first" fanatic sometime during or after the First Contact War. I don't think he's soulless, just hardened to the point he'd blindly sacrifice everything good about humanity to save it (to quote Shepard). He reminds me of Saren in a way. He fills the villain role, but few villains start out that way. Saren had a good side to him in the end -- even thanks you -- so maybe TIM will too. If he doesn't, well, only way to fix a bad light bulb... throw it in the trash and get a new one.

Hmm, I dunno. Good question to ask the writers. I never saw Thane as a guy who places any great deal of affection on his weapons. He sees himself as a weapon and I don't imagine he loves himself beyond basic care.

I have to agree with the others though, I don't see Thane naming his weapons, as they are only an extension of his body.

Not really, to be honest. Samara was the first to enter my mind, but she will not take another mate, which is a good thing. She is essential an ardat-yakshi, so potential deadly to a normal person. I did say essential, I'm not really sure, but that's how it seems to me. Kelly is too much of a nympho to be in a monogamous relationship. Tali, well, just no. Miranda would never kick it with an alien. Kasumi is a Jacob fangirl. Jack isn't interested in a relationship as much as she is just plain sex. I don't really know much about anyone else.

Note: it was hard to put Thane in a sentence with the words "plain sex". Just my opinion though.

I agree with all of this. We'll get to find out for sure in Evolution. (Can't wait for Evolution. xD I think the Garrus and TIM threads both know it too.) And you're right about TIM having a family once, it was mentioned in the beginning of Ascension.

There's a blog somewhere where the followers / authors are named after the Normandy crew. In it, Jane Shepard is paired with Garrus and Thane is paired with Kelly Chambers, who frequents the life support deck. I thought it was fitting. Kelly and FemShep briefly discuss how some women like bad boys, where you can hint that you're attracted to Thane. With ManShep, Kelly hints her attraction to Thane. I can see her trying to liberate Thane from his shell and comforting him about his past, the same way FemShep does if she pursues him.

I wasn't sure about Samara, but I think the Sheps who "embrace eternity" with her wind up dead. Never done it myself...
I do like Jack, and maybe she would do well with Thane, but I want him to have some peace in life and she is a wild child. LOL Gotta love her! I know the fic you're talking about and it was quite good. There was also another fic that was rather, whats the word I want, very unrestrained. Maybe it's what you say and I have a hard time seeing him with anyone else.

Coming from a mother who is a counselor...I just don't trust those people. LOL Kelly is attracted to lots of things, including shiny objects and bright lights. *gonna go hide now*

I'm not to sure about Kelly either. She seems to be attracted to almost everyone who comes on the ship.
