However, i do think it would be super legit and just as awesome if Kolyat came and joined up ME3, if you were able to keep thane alive after the suicide run. Maybe he went on and right before he died, taught Kolyat the "ways of an assassin" or something to that nature. So in a way, we do have thane, but it stuck to the storyline. I feel like that would be a great idea. agree/ disagree?

There are some story issues - but there always are. Like, how right is it to recruit the son when the father clearly stated that he didn't want his son to have to kill? And, plus, if Thane dies wouldn't Shepard feel obligated to keep Kolyat safe rather than putting him in danger? Buuuut if Thane can be as bad ass as he is with only half a lung, I say these are moot points. xP
I want Kolyat if Thane dies. (As a squad member, I should clarify.)

Kolyat joining your team wouldn't work. Thane started training at the age of six. He made his first kill at twelve. He's the best. That's why you recruit him. Kolyat could never be as good as his father. Kolyat can't even handle being shot if you shoot him during Thans loyalty mission. Have you seen his reation if Shepard kills Talid? This is not someone who could handle being on Shepard team. He just doesn't have the skills or the training, and this is not what Thane would want. That is the whole point of Thanes loyalty mission. He is trying to save his son from that kind of life. I like Kolyat and would like to see him in ME3, but not on Shepards team.

No one really know if it is in Biowares plan to let Thane die. For all we know they never had any real intetion on killing him. I'd like to think they added the illness just for drama. No one on this thread wants a miracle cure. If we have to work for it or it comes at a price thats fine by me. Even something to prolong his life until a cure can be found is fine.

This. 100%. <3 Thane. Wouldn't take his son out of respect. SO, I hope they don't do that. I'd love to see Thane back. My fave character hands down.

Shepard needs the best of the best, not a teenager with daddy issues.
Especially since its Thans greates wish his son doesnt follow in his footsteps, my Shepard would never dishonour him in that way.
I dont dislike Kolyat or anything but I thought him working for Csec doing good was a "happy" ending for him. Let him live a life in peace he has suffered enough
