Edited to add: Seriously, my only complaint with this scene (and Garrus's, honestly) is that it wasn't sexy.  To me, anyway.  Just adding that little tiny bit in adds enough sexiness in my book to make it fly, instead of just being a bit weepy and dramatic.  Just because most people who play FemShep romances are women, doesn't mean our romance scenes can't have a little kick to them, for goodness sake!  Shirtless Thane plskthnx??  This redeems the scene a little in my book!

And about Kolyat, I am right behind J. Thane wouldn't want his son killing with Shepard, it is the life he tries to protect him from. And even though it's Shepard, Kolyat needs to be more experienced to be able to fight.

Do you think Thane would have joined Shepard on the suicide mission if he wasn't dying of Keprel's syndrome?

If you think he would, would he ask for payment?

Thanks guys! I really enjoy taking screenshots with FlyCam. I have little time to do it, though, since I spend most of my time making vids. Speaking of which, I'm working on a Thane/FemShep one as we speak. I'll be sure to post it in here when it's done.

I'm a giant Thane fan, just tend to lurk in here and hang out in the FemShep thread a lot more.

I think it depends on the impression Shep makes when you attempt to recruit him.  We already know that before they even met, he was really impressed with Shepard.  "But someone else was pushing to reach the target. Forcing me to move faster.  Challenging me. I had to reach her first."  So I think you impress him whether he is dying or not.  And, because he says he took the Dantius mission because he didn't know what else to do, I think he's still searching for a purpose, whether he is dying or not.  Because of that, I think he would still accept, and still gratis.  Shepard impresses him that much.

Maybe I just can't imagine a squad without him though.

Edit: I have my own very serious question. Ahem. ... Does oral contact with Thane's mouth cause hallucinations, or his skin? I always thought it was his skin! xP

Mordin was unclear on that, wasn't he? All he says is "oral contact." At first I assumed mouth-to-mouth oral contact, but now... who knows? Lol.

I thought it was any kind of oral contact. I thought it was his mouth, and any oral contact with his skin. I don't really know either.

@ Kim yeah, he is impressed by Shepard, but he would probably be freelancing as an assassin still after Irikah's death.

Personally, I think Thane would still join Shepard, but would pay for his services (not like THAT ladies!)

He is putting his life on the line and he still has his son, but he seems drawn to danger, however. And the suicide mission has that covered.

I think he would join as well. His wish to make the universe a brighter place *could* also be intertwined with his grief over Irikah's death. I mean, he says he feels nothing while in battle sleep, but I wonder if that's just towards his marks. He is still asleep before his LM, but he feels dread at the thought of Kolyat becoming an assassin, so who is to say he doesn't feel grief. He also shows remorse about the Salarians he could not save in the towers.

I believe he feels things deeply, whether he shows them or not. I think that, with his Keprals, he knows his time is limited, so trying for "atonement" on a timeline. But without the Keprals, he has more time to do the things he thinks he needs to. Saving countless lives fits into his plans either way. Just my opinion, and not very eloquent this morning apparently, so I'm off for more coffee.

I agree with this. I think thane would still join you because he was so impressed. I think he would also ask for payment though. Hes an assasin and if he had a life to look foward to, I think he would want something in return.


Also, who else thought it was amazing when, after Thane's loyalty mission you talk to Bailey he says something like "I did research on killings about 10 years ago, someone was taking out all the big guys. The primary suspect was a drell, and we never caught him."

I also believe TIM would have cleared the funds, so no issue for us Thane is one of the best assassins in the galaxy after all. So Thane could just neck snap the reapers, one by one...

Or not? But it's fun to dream.

Yeah, he had his battle sleep, but fighting for a cause would give him hope. When freelancing, there wasn't much of a cause for what he fought for, but now, it's for the galaxy. Thane is an emotional guy (in a good way!) so his pain at the loss of his wife, and perhaps blaming himself due to his profession as an assassin, which in turn, caused him to distance himself from his family, all meant that he wanted to redeem himself.

He also likes femshep's bottom.
