Love the pics, confirmation of hand placement, alway a ^5...........

My response to Mordin would've been - "I'm not an ordinary human anymore Mordin, Cerberus made sure of that. If that batarian's poison couldn't kill me on Omega, then contact with Thane will be nothing but good. Thanks for the educational materials though"

I believe Thane would still go on the mission for two reasons - he loves Shep AND that reason alone would be enough to put him in the "make the universe a better place", soul searching zone that dying put him in. AND, I agree Cerberus would pay him (TIM gets pissed off after the mission, not before)

I think it depends on the impression Shep makes when you attempt to recruit him.  We already know that before they even met, he was really impressed with Shepard.  "But someone else was pushing to reach the target. Forcing me to move faster.  Challenging me. I had to reach her first."  So I think you impress him whether he is dying or not.  And, because he says he took the Dantius mission because he didn't know what else to do, I think he's still searching for a purpose, whether he is dying or not. 

I agree, but I would add the caveat that impressing someone with your skill is not necessarily the same as earning their respect/loyalty for you as a person.  Thane and my FemShep respect each other's skills and experience immensely, but they don't see eye to eye on anything else.  They're so diametrically opposed in their worldviews that I think if he hadn't been looking for a last chance at redemption before death, he might have thought twice about working with her.

I also think Thane would be much less blase about death in the suicide mission if he didn't have Kepral's.  I got the impression that if it hadn't been for Kolyat finding out about his assassinations, he was happy to just let the disease take him and leave Kolyat to his relatives.  Maybe if he knew he had more time, he would've tried to make up for the absent years, giving him an incentive to survive the suicide mission.

Funny though, after seeing this I finally realized why Bioware gave Thane Kepral's syndrome....
so we could have the most emotial romance scene ever!  

I often wonder how romances are going to be handled in ME3. After the suicide mission you can call your LI up to your cabin, will this be kept in ME3? they will add something ala DA:O, where you could kiss/have sexy time whenever you wanted?
I want to be able to kiss Thane!! It's obvious the animators put real care in that kiss ( see above  ) it would be such a waste no to use it again and again and again....
And while I'm at it I want my Shepard to able to play with the zipper!!!

You see, I think that even if he didn't have Keprel's syndrome, he still would have wanted to reconcile with Kolyat. That is, if he still got the information that his son wanted to be an assassin, then he still would have stopped him. Although Thane accepts his proffession, that is because he was trained for it, both physically and emotionally, whereas Kolyat doesn't have the emotional capabilities to kill for a living. So I think Thane would still intervene.

But yeah. if he never found out about Kolyat becoming a hitman, then I think he would have left Kolyat with the relatives. He doesn't seem to consider himself as a good father, so leaving him with his relatives would probably be better for Kolyat in Thane's eyes.

I think the "Be alive with me tonight" is far worse...but yeah, I agree with you. 

The first time I saw that I was like ":o", the animators sure did a great job there. It was incrible that they managed to portray Thane's frustation so well: his expression when Shepard touches him, how he moves his head away a little and then grabs her wrist to move her hand away, you could even feel the strength he used to push her away... I was totally speechless. 

Edit: I think I just had a solipsism moment there...LOL

I'm no sure to wich degree ME uses motion capture, but If all that scene was animated the traditional way Bioware's animators are awesome!

It's been so fun catching up on the last few pages and looking at all the gorgeous screencaps you guys have posted. It's wonderful to me that one year after the game's release we can still discover new things about the love scene. We finally know what Thane was doing with his hands. He's as suave as ever! Get some, Thane!

I just had to quote the above image again because it looks like her hand is inching irresistibly closer to that enticing zipper. *happy sigh* I also adore his expression here when she's touching his face. He's brimming with emotion. I love this scene so much. Sure, some of Shepard's lines could be better but I still find it really tender and beautiful. I never get tired of watching it.

Edited to add: Seriously, my only complaint with this scene (and Garrus's, honestly) is that it wasn't sexy.  To me, anyway.  Just adding that little tiny bit in adds enough sexiness in my book to make it fly, instead of just being a bit weepy and dramatic.  Just because most people who play FemShep romances are women, doesn't mean our romance scenes can't have a little kick to them, for goodness sake!  Shirtless Thane plskthnx??  This redeems the scene a little in my book!

I enjoyed the emotional aspect of the love scene in ME2 but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to something more sexy in ME3. I completely support shirtless Thane! Sign me up! ME3 is supposed to be the end of Shep's story so let it go out with a bang, I say. I hope all the love interests get nice scenes in the last one.

Btw guys, in case you're like me and missed the chance to buy Thane's litho a few weeks back, you're in luck because they're selling mini versions of it!

I was going to buy the full sized version but it sold out by the time I tried to order it. I'm glad now I'll be able to have at least one version of it.
