I'm not sure how many ManShep players post in this thread, but I figured I'd give my input. Thane is one of my favorite characters in ME2. He's up there with Samara and Mordin as my favorite squadmates. Unlike Garrus and Jacob, who felt more like buddies you'd goof around with during downtimes, Thane really has that aura of professionalism that makes me see him more as an equal

@Sable - It's okay - we luv you and your skillz.  Though it is hard to refrain from getting excited about things such as this, sometimes is does protect us.  Remember when 'something to make Femsheps happy' turned out to be a lame dress, and not a cure?  :(  Haha, when we have such high hopes, sometimes we get horribly disappointed.

Still, I refuse to give up hope for Thane alive in ME3, and a possible cure/treatment!

Hey, I happen to like the dress.  And the loyalty mission that went with it

High hopes aren't always unfounded--Garrus and Thane turned out to be a) romanceable and more importantly, B) made of awesome.  But dev warnings to the Fenris fangirls on the DA2 forums come to mind--it's not a good idea to build our wild speculations into expectations for the next game when we've so little information.

@PrinceLionheart:  Thanks for sharing your thoughts on our favorite assassin!  There are quite a few male fans, so you're not alone.  I think lots of people feel the same as you (both men and women) - Thane's maturity, confidence, and professional approach to the mission are among his most appealing traits!  Feel free to stay and discuss any and all things Thane!

@Sable: Ha, oh I loved that loyalty mission, too.... but a cure would have made my FemShep a helluva lot happier than a dress.  That's all I meant! :P

I know what you mean about high hopes.  Usually I am not one to get caught up in speculation ... but it's hard not to with Thane, sometimes.

Virmire Survivor.  Either Ashley or Kaidan, based upon your decision in ME1.  B)

@Sqeeze: No prob! I wondered that at one point myself, too.

@Sable: Ha - good thing I took lessons from Thane and not Jacob:

And now, to counteract the above - Thane, the ninja assassin:

Oh god, the DERP Jacob gif. I have it saved on my other computer--the first time I saw it I laughed so hard I nearly cried. Ash has some moments of derp too on Horizon where she goes all cross-eyed--it kinda kills her whole righteous indignation thing.

"If you didn't want tragedy, you shouldn't have romanced the guy who said he was dying."

/facepalm

Because we all have complete control of our emotions, can shut them off and decide who we fall in love with. FemShep included.

*sigh*

Not DA:O's Sandal.  ENCHANTMENT is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.  And adorable to boot.

'Characters who have a disease are too busy being defined by their awesome illness to offer you a fulfilling romance... what were you thinking. Just because you thought he was the most mature, confident, and sexy of all the LIs available, well... he's too busy dying dramatically for the rest of us - he doesn't have time to live!'

Oh, I just don't even know what to say anymore.... *facedesk*

ETA: Sandal, LMAO!    I needed that laugh after my rant.

Aislinn --- so pretty! Yes, stay here. It is easier on your brain than banging your head against the brick wall of "Thane is defined by his illness." Arggh!

Sable... I shouldn't do this, but I can't help myself:

I think a Thane DLC is a little wishful thinking, TBH. Sure Lair of the Shadow Broker featured Liara, but it also contained bridging plot for ME3. And as much as I like Thane, like most of the other squaddies, he's not plot-critical. We're more likely to get a VS DLC.

Or we could get a broader LI DLC that develops all the relationships further. That'd be nice.

I didn't even realize that some people thought the next DLC was going to be about Thane. Where did that even come from? As much as I love Thane I just did think that would happen. I just assumed if they were going to give us a chance to cure him it would be in ME3. The next DLC would probably be VS DLC or something else.

Yeah those trolls can yakyakyak all they want but all their grumbles and criticisms pale in comparison to the action made by the group of Thane fans who came together and actually did something for their favourite character.
