I actually agree about Thane. I want him to live, but if BioWare comes up with something else that's really well done, I wouldn't complain. Again, Saren is a good example - his suicide scene was one of the things that made me like him (or at least realize that I liked him, which probably started around Virmire). It's a brilliant scene, but a sad one. It's possible that Thane could get something similar.

ThaneShep would be angry though. I mean, I created her for Thane, unlike the other Shepards, who weren't made for their romantic interests. MainShep will have to bug TIM for another resurrection. Eventually, he's going to get annoyed that everyone's boyfriends keep dying and he has to fix it.

And Sable, I wasn't necessarily getting my hopes up or being overly optimistic. Just observant. I don't think things will be as simple as a cure for Thane. And I'm sorry guys, but if he has an epic standoff flaming end, then I can live with that. (As long as it is at the end of ME3. Thane's warp kicks ass!)

If I'm too optimistic over anything, it's for Garrus making a triumphant return as a squaddie!

That's hilarious. xD I like thinking of TIM as the magic boyfriend resurrection fairy. And he does get one of my Shepards. Just not MainShep or ThaneShep. Their reactions are adorable though, Thane trying not to cry and Saren planning how to shoot someone through a hologram.

Just like the Garrus thread will probably be full of Garrus screenshots and fanart, with some Saren for MainShep. How do you guys think Thane would celebrate Shepard's birthday (before the fade-to-black)?

Shepard's birthday is April 11th? I know that the beginning of ME2 after the Lazarus project takes place two months after Shepard's latest birthday, but how do you know it's April 11th?

Spend some time on a desert world, or the deserts of Earth. Thane could wear his 80s shades. They will have some romantic times, and the the fade to black shall begin!!!

Although, I am genuinely stumped as to what Thane may get Shepard as a birthday present... Hmm...

I'm still thinking about what Thane would do for my ThaneShep's birthday. She hasn't been around as long as my other Shepards, so she's not as clearly defined as they are. She's a little crazy for action though, and I imagine they would do something romantic.

TIM should have that title on his business cards. xD He must be glad Garrus avoided death on Omega, and that Kai Leng avoided death in Retribution, or my other FemSheps would bug him about those too. They sure like to pick the guys with dangerous lives, huh?

You know, ThaneShep would have the most trouble there. She'll stay with Cerberus, but she's the only one of those FemSheps I mentioned who blows up the base. Unlike MainShep, their relationship is not built on favors. So what reason would he have to resurrect Thane? It's a good thing that all the major decisions are MainShep's when I imagine them in the same universe together - Collector base is TIM's either way, so he's on good terms with the whole team. If anything goes wrong, time for the first drell Lazarus! At least he probably won't need rebuilding like MainShep and Saren.

So glad to be caught-up in ME's universe and able to post in these threads. I finally feel like a fan in the know.



Anyway, I support Thane in ME3 in a heartbeat but like others have said, seeing him die a 'good death' would also satisfy me. He's a terrific character and in my top five squadmates -- which doesn't sound like much but then, you don't realize how much I enjoyed just about everyone -- and it would be a crying shame not to see more of him.



I do wonder how the 'anyone can die' schtick is going to affect things.

Thane is in my top five squadmates too. And for me, that's saying a lot because there are many squadmates I never want to use at all. xD My favorites are very far above my least favorites (and there's a big list of them too). He's also my third-favorite romance overall, and second-favorite for FemShep.

Welcome JeffZero and glad to see you agree with us. Personally, I would be content with an epic death at the end of ME3, but I know others don't agree with me. But Thane is brilliant, I am already partial to assassins, but Thane just has such a great character...

As for the 'anyone can die' thing, it will certainly mean a lot of work on Bioware's part. My main playthrough has everyone surviving, even the characters I don't particulrly like, because they could change, and I want to see all their story arcs.

Mind you, VS and Liara are invincible. Unfortunately, they aren't in my long list of favourites, but ah well...

I can't get into specifics on romances just yet because compared to most of the forum-goers I'm still quite the little Mass Effect newblet. I've never owned an Xbox 360 nor do I have a computer capable of running the first game so it wasn't until December 2010 that I finally got to borrow a neighbor's console and experience the first game. It's a shame too because I've always been a big sci-fi fan and ever since the earliest trailers for ME1 I was intrigued.



Anyway, long story short I bought ME2 for PS3 after completing ME1 for 360. So I only have one playthrough of each game so far and sadly they aren't even interconnected. Not truly, that is. I intend to purchase a 360 and rectify all this.



I didn't romance anyone in ME1 simply because my Shepard was rather task-oriented for that file, heh. In ME2 I romanced Tali mainly because I kept picking up on all the hints she was interested and all that. When I get a 360 the first character I'm going to romance in a FemShep run (I'm male in case the user name didn't betray that) will be Thane, though.



How did I get so off-topic? Must just be my mind still spinning from having beaten ME2 for the first time. By the way, random question: why is it all my posts seem to contain double-spacing and no one else's do? Am I doing something wrong? The Quick Reply box shows I'm only single-spacing but when I hit 'submit' that changes... hm.
