I thought Feron was cute. I have never thought Kolyat was attractive. I can't get past that face, chin and head. They are just too big.

Am I the only one who doesn't think that Kolyat is unattractive? I really liked that he didn't look so... how shall I say without being offensive lol... generic may be the word. He isn't so perfect prettyboy. I liked that. But I was annoyed that he looked NOTHING like Thane, particularly in the scene when they are facing each other and you can't see any resemblance at all. They did a much better job with Jacob and his father.

Edited to add, Feron is just a recolor of Thane. >.>

Drell may not inherit the looks of their parents. It's also possible Irikah may have had the same skintone Kolyat does. I'm thinking maybe he resembles one of his grandparents. I don't find him to be ugly, but a bit more hardened and unique. I think they did a decent job with his design.



Anyway, when there's only been 3 drell in the entire game it's kind of hard to judge the attractiveness of their race. Thane is probably exceptionally good-looking for a drell, I'm guessing.

I think the drell are like any other race. Some people my be considered more attractive than others. It's all a matter of taste really. To me Kolyats head is a little big, but I don't think he is ugly.

Very true.  In fact, Thane could be fugly by their standards.  Fortunately for him, it appears plenty of FemSheps in the galaxy find him to be quiiiiite attractive.

What I find amusing about Kolyat is that he is voiced by Quinton Flynn. I don't know if anyone here is a fan of MGS, but when Kolyat showed up the only thing I could hear was "Colonel, we managed to avoid drowning."



And hi everyone. I'm glad I can finally go to all these wonderful character threads now that I completed Mass Effect 2 (PS3 owner). So far I completed it twice, once with the Garrus romance and once with the Thane romance. I adored Thane's story and I really hope he shows up again for 3 so I thought I would delurk and show my support.

I've heard that one before, but is Thane actually seeing Shepard when he says that. He also says he sees or hears the sea in a longer version of that audio that I've heard. I'm not sure if he is seeing her or some illusion. 

I agree it is very sad to hear that audio.

I didn't think Kolyat was ugly, I just thought he was DUMB. He was such an incredible idiot that even my Paragade Shepard was tempted to just shoot the hostage. As it was, she got to shoot at him and then punch him out, so it's all good XD

I think he's an awesome looking character. No, he's not as pretty as Thane but I still find him adorable.

He made a silly mistake, thinking he could be as good of an assassin as his father but I don't think he is stupid either.

He is a troubled teen XD

Thanks! I can see the difference now, but it's still slight to me. The main thing I notice is how Thane and Kolyat both appear to be the same age. I never would have guessed he was so young.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that they share the same body mesh and that they are aliens. In humans, we look for signs like sagging skin and greying hair. Of course, aging would be different for a drell.

Over all, Kolyat head is bigger thas his father's, so it makes sense... poor Irikah, I wonder if Thane was with her during labor... 


I don't really find Kolyat ugly but compared to his father...he was kind of a let down ( yet I was reaaaally glad Kolyat wasn't Thane's recolored clone ).  And now that I see those images Hanar posted for comparison, and can see Kolyat without making weird faces, I admit he his attractive in his own way....
