Intai'sei sounds perfect. But you're right, by the time they actually build cities there for the drell, the hanar might have cured Kepral's already. They do seem very loyal to the hanar... more so than humans would be, I imagine. That's probably why I think it's strange that they've never tried to find a more suitable planet for colonization, because it's the "human" thing to do.

Sorry mainshep! I get confused between gaming and reality sometimes! Only joking ;)
I hope?
Ah Vegas. The perfect place to engage in drunken cross-species marriages. In under 200 years anyway.
And Ava, I can't imagine Thane getting drunk either. But if he did, I imagine the graphic solipsism will be on the forefront of his mind. He may even be telling my Shep and Kim's Shep about him and YOUR Shep!
Ah! The possibilities!!

It probably doesn't help that my username is the same as my MainShep's name. xD Also, Thane and a FemShep telling Saren about their night together? That would be so hilarious and disturbing.

Saren: No, I do not want to hear about your hallucinations, human.
FemShep: I saw the Collectors! :D
Saren: ...Why do you sound so happy about that? *backs away slowly*

Does anyone have that comic of Shepard kissing Thane and seeing a Harbinger-possessed Collector?

Shepard is more likely to get drunk than Thane, but if he did it could be funny. Maybe Sable can write one of her short stories about it, or hanar can make a comic strip about it. The possibilities are endless.Posted Image

I support both of these ideas! It would be awesome. :)

The drell consider serving the Hanar a great honor. That is why they stay. Only a few thousand drell live outside of Kahje, spread about the galaxy (which is a really small number). The Compact is more about gratitude to the Hanar for saving their race than anything else.

Even if a suitable world was found for the drell to colonize, I don't believe they'd leave. They've pretty much ingrained themselves into Hanar society and I doubt they would ever break The Compact.

Haha, Thane getting drunk. It's certainly entertaining to think of what he might be like intoxicated XD

Not sure if there will be a comic involving that in the future, though >_> We will see...

That's ok hanar. It was just something I said.

Your comics are great, and I do think your Shepard would be funny if she got drunk.

It seems that currently the Drell are not thinking about leaving their new homeworld because of the close relationship with the hanar. But someday in the future they may have to search for a new planet because of the increased population. Or maybe the number of their population is controled by the hanar or themself. But even then I suppose there will be a time where they are still thankful for the help of the hanar but the wish to develop further could let to the wish to colonization of foreign planets.

I wonder how common Keprals syndrom is under the drell - as long as they live in the climate controlled cities, that should not be a problem. But many of them seem to work for the hanar (like Thane) and the question is how often they have to leave the cities for this service.

Keprel's seems to be pretty common. I guess it has probably lowered the life expectancy of drell. They probably have a similar life span to humans. But if Thane has Keprel's at the age of 36 (or is he 38?) Then it isn't a good sign. It seems logical to at least have a homeworld where they can stay, but still go periodically to Kahje to maintain the Compact.

But I expect the Compact entails more than that :(

Damn Kahje's moist atmosphere!

Thane is 39, Tasha. By ME2's timeframe, that is. Also, he's had Kepral's for quite some time apparently.

I am a terrible Thane fan... Hehe!

But in that case, if it effects drell when they are still quite young, then surely it is a big enough stigma against staying on Kahje. They know that that world is the cause of Keprel's, and I am sure the hanar will understand if they settle on a more arid world where they don't get fatal diseases from the climate.

And if they don't understand, I'll MAKE them understand :D

Wow, I just realized that Thane is only five years younger than Saren (technically seven, if he survived). I didn't remember Thane's age either.

The hanar exist because Shepard allows it, and they will understand because Shepard demands it? That was the first thing that came to mind, followed by my ThaneShep threatening a hanar scientist to find the cure faster.

Rescued from page 2 ;)

Everyone exists because Shepard allows it. I'm sure Shepard could be turned into Chuck Norris. However, that appears to be a role for Garrus...

No leader Pam, I am not pimping Garrus in the Thane thread again! ;)

Hanar appear to have a lot of intelligence, but they are taking a while for this cure? Perhaps it is a manipulation method to maintain drell's reliance on them? How sneaky...

I think the same way. In this case, they will hinder the colonization of a new world. Hmm ... Savior of the Galaxy may request the Council to give him a few planets in private property?:innocent:

I do not trust the jellyfish. They worship Protheans, which is now subject to the Reapers (those that survived). Whose side will the jellyfish in a future war? And this will be taken Drell?

Hello... I'm a little new to this little spot and am not exactly sure how to 'jump' in except to... well, jump in. (I feel like the new kid at school, introducing themselves infront of everyone... ^-^ hi?) I hope i'm not being intrusive. I'm a big supporter of Thane and the cure to keep him alive.^-^ I very much would like to have him around (its just wrong to take him away when you grow to adore the guy) and love the indepth thinking here!

Well I'm not sure the exact time frame, but I think it said the drell have lived on Kahje for 2 centuries. I imagine it would take a while to settle a new species on a new planet. They don't say how long it takes for symptoms to show, but they would have to find the cause of it, which is time consuming and costly. I remember him saying that they recently started working on a cure, so I'm assuming they only recently found out what they needed to know about it. I don't think anything sinister is going on, they just maybe honest to god haven't figured out a cure yet.

I imagine they would have to have the drell conduct the experiments or another species. I can't picture the tentacles handling tissue samples. But then there's robots i guess that can do that for them.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense. Wasn't quite sure how to word what I'm thinking.

Fabulous! I feel better already! I have no doubts that I will definately enjoy it here! Thank you for welcoming me!

Is it not possible for Mordin to attempt a cure? He seems like someone with the know how. His efforts would definately contribute to the process if we could only pull him away from his side projects, if only for a moment.

I understand you, and I agree. Thane does say "The hanar have funded a genetic engineering program. They should be able to adapt us.
"The project has only been running for a few years."

Is this Silvershards? It is TashaVakarian here. As I tell people, it was the result of a drunken night with Garrus in Vegas. Posted Image
Welcome here! You will love it. Feel free to join Drellickers Anonymous, a group for those who love Thane.
I think Mordin is possibly the only known contact who could make a cure for Keprel's syndrome within Thane's remaining lifetime. There was a fanfic about that I believe...
Pumpkinpirate, I don't trust the hanar either (except for hanar05 and blasto of course) Posted Image. Although the drell revere the hanar for saving them, I don't think it was an altruistic reason that motivated them. They have been a Citadel race for some time (as someone says on the citadel) so they probably take the drell as almost a 'client' race to help them do the physical things they can't. And they have the Compact to ensure this and ensure that the drell don't become independant (as they have the capabilities of becoming.)
All seems suspicious to me anyway, they want to become a council race maybe?

^Go Tasha! Yep, I very much agree. I've always been suspicious, but that's just my nature. :)

I think Mordin has the brain power and the initiative. I just don't think the Hanar have it in them. They're too busy being polite and well..squidy. LOL Having said that, I think if my FemShep made a "professional" visit to Kahje (sp), they might be more inclined to hurry the hell up and find a cure. Nothing says lovin' like a grenade launcher. Or is that just me?

Grenade launchers get you around...

Posted Image

Yeah, the hanar are excessively polite. But so are some politicians. They are still capable of deception, manipulations and lies. Muhahahaha! For a race that worships what was the most technologically advanced race in the galaxy, they don't even know how to cure a bacterial disease.

Looks like we need to storm the hanar facility with grenade launchers to cure Thane!

I want Thane cured. I've seen so many things go wrong. I want something to go right, just once.

Wut?

Thane didn't look very interesting on the cover of the game. But then I met him in game. He has since become my favorite character. If he dies, I'm not getting ME3. Or at least I won't preorder it. As soon as it can be preordered. Okay, I won't do it so eagerly.

Also, I believe we have a brilliant Salarian scientist on-board, if he can't cure him, then he is just pretending to be smart.

I find the hanar very fishy. No one should trust anyone who is excessively polite (and with tentacles). And there is a rumour in me1 that they might be considered as the next candidate for council seat. And then I guess humans took that away? Maybe drell are basically hostages for them to get the seat. They might deliberately withhold the cure for the seat?
