Hey ladies, I've only been here like once before...even though Thane is one of my favorite ME characters, and pretty much my favorite Romance right after Kai-bear :P

@Tasha, can I use one of your Thane Sigbars? they're just awesome!

Of course you can! They are for everyone to use after all! Nod made the ass one, and Gnas made the Drellickers one a while back.
Unless you're on about pimping my fanfiction on your sig bar Posted Image.
And yeah, that sig is incredible. And possibly the longest one on BSN! Posted Image

I've written a piece of fanfiction about Thane at the request of another member here. It's a letter of sorts, written by Thane to Shepard not long after the romance scene.

Currently it's in a wordpad document but it's way too long to post here, and in my experience copy pasting from word documents means the formatting goes up the wall when it gets onto the forum.

Any suggestions on the best way to share it with any of you who may be interested?

in a race against time, how many necks could thane snap if train A leaves the station at 5:30pm and 5km away, two objects, one a baseball, another a watermelon were both dropped at the same time at the same height?

Hahahaha!! This is exactly how they phrase questions in the dreaded Maths papers that I remember from school as well!

I think he could snap 45 necks, including snapping the watermelon and baseball's necks as well! Posted Image

And Rivercurse, I have an ffnet account, it is a brilliant place to post your fanfiction once the account has been created, because you can see reviews, traffic, alerts, favourites and all that sort of thing. It is also easy to use. I will read you fanfic now.

Did you say someone from here recommended for you to write this fanfic? If so, who was it? Posted Image
Edit: Just read the letter River, and you really have captured Thane's character brilliantly, and raised some very interesting points about drell culture and biology.

And it did make me wonder, how do drell dream, exactly?

That's an interesting thought. Drell probably remember their dreams in detail, unlike humans most of the time. I wonder if that's a good or bad thing, that their dreams could be just as clear as actual memories.

If you read the letter that rivercurse wrote in the link above, she has quite an interesting take on it.

It's never something I have really thought of before (and I thought we had discussed pretty much EVERYTHING on the Thane thread!) But due to their solipsism, it makes sense that they would dream differently, perhaps they relive memories while asleep. If so, that would certainly be a difficult thing for Thane.

I haven't read it (don't normally read fanfiction), but that's an interesting theory. I have a few Shepards who have to deal with flashbacks in their dreams... and most of them don't sleep much. If it's the same for Thane, at least he'd have someone to stay awake with.

Hehe, true. I never thought before about the kind of dreams drell would have before, so thanks for that river!
I hope that guilt doesn't come to haunt his dreams. It isn't what Thane deserves. I guess that depsite the codex entries and conversations, there are still so many aspects that we are unaware of about the aliens of Mass Effect. Drell in particular, have a more 'alien' culture than many of the other races.

The bolded line reminded me of a short conversation between Shepard and Jack on the Collector ship when Shepard found the human bodies and has the option to say, "They didn't deserve this." Jack says, "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." The poor Mass Effect characters with their horrible pasts that make me like them more. xD

There is less information about the drell than any other species. I think it's because we've only seen a few of them.

Maybe I'm writing nonsense, but it's a long time gives me no peace ...
Does anyone know what means "Sere Krios"? (When listening to the advertisement "booth" between the game store and the rapid transit terminal on level 28 of the Zakera Ward at the Citadel while having Thane in your party, the advertisement refers to him as "Sere Krios.") Why is not Mr. or sir? Maybe you have thoughts on this. I could not find anything similar in the literature available to me. If this address is specific for ME, then it means the position in society or points to an occupation?

I think it's just the drell way of saying "sir." Different culture, different ways to call them. It's like the characters of DAO using "ser" for both men and women.

I also assumed it was a drell version of "sir" or "Mr.".

At first I also thought that this is equivalent to sir or Mr., but could not remember that other aliens used something like that (using the equivalent). And why the device interpreter did not translate this word into a more human-readable form? But it is... possible.

Or not having now the values of a title of nobility, which belonged to his family on Rakhana.
