Okay Tasha, by now I'm convinced that you're hacking the site to get all these tops.
Still, nice pic.

Glad you like this thread, it is full of insanity! But we all love Thane here. I didn't romance anyone on my Thaneshep's ME1 playthrough either, or for my mainshep who went for Garrus.

I just thought the ME2 romances were lots better. Also, I think it makes it more special if Thane is the only one that Shepard has gone for. Just makes him the special one.

It also makes him very happy. (See above again :D)

I pretty much agree with this. I went back and played ME1 just to make two unromanced Shepards for Thane. That wasn't  fun for me because I really didn't want to play ME1 again. I've played it so much that I just don't really enjoy it any more, but I did do it twice for Thane. I felt the same way you did Tasha. I thought Thane deserved an unromanced Shepard.  I do have one playthrough were one of my shepards romanced Kaidan and then went for Thane. I imported that one because I am curious to see what happens if you don't stay loyal, but that is the only one.

Maybe I am. Hehe. Seems that way anyway. It was made by disjunction reaper. All the bright colours definately have a hallucinatory effect!

And I still enjoy ME1. But the gameplay and combat system are much improved in ME2, so I can see why comparatively, it can be dull. But occassionally, I get a line I haven't heard before on ME1, or a tidbit of information. But I know ME2 too well now.

But I can see Thane as being far more than a fling. VS, Liara and other LI's seem to be suitable for a fling, but not Thane. He can only be something more important. Especially when he starts pulling the old 'Siha' line. And yeah, I've done a 'loyal' and 'unloyal' playthrough for Garrus and Thane.

The fireworks shall be interesting...

I like certain portions of ME1 better than ME2, and some ME2 portions better than ME1, but I HATE having to go back and forth between the two games, it just confuses the hell out of me. Most of the time, I end up trying to reload in ME1 and then throw a grenade at someone, only once I get back to ME2, I forget to reload. All, the, time.
Liara isn't that suitable for a fling, what's with all the mind melding going on. But I think Thane is the least fling-ish romance, followed by Tali and then Garrus (What do you mean I'm biased?).
Edit: I simply had to share this:

I still enjoy ME1, of course. It has Saren. :) And I wouldn't play a Shepard in ME2 without playing them through ME1 first.

Honestly, I think any one of the romances can be a fling from Shepard's point of view. But romanced Thane loves Shepard, and there's no question about that. The Garrus, Tali, Liara, and Paragon Jack romances definitely don't seem like flings from their point of view either. Shepard can be thinking whatever the player wants though. xD

Liara came across as a little obsessive to some people. She expresses interest in you right away when she doesn't really know you, and at first she seemed more interested in your visions from the beacon than she does you.

I do agree about Thane. He just doesn't even seem like the type of person who would be even interesed in a fling.

Who knows? Maybe he's just a womanizing bastard that pretends he's dying to get girls interested in him? That would certainly make for some hilarious romancing in ME3 :D.

Haha! Love the facepalming Garrus in that picture. Why is Kolyat the only drell to facepalm. *Facepalm*'

And I would pay the fees for the Drellicking experience. How much would the next level cost me :D

And damn Thane! You smooth drell you... Maybe Bioware will do that...
*After the steamy kiss and aftermath in Shepard's quarters*
Thane: Siha, I have something to inform you of.
Shepard: Sure.
Thane: I am... not dying.
Shepard: What?! Is there even any such thing as Keprel's syndrome then?
Thane: No. I have just learned that females prefer those whose mortality is closing to an end.
Shepard: Why lie to me then?
Thane: Because Earth girls are easy.
Shepard: YOU WHAT? So why the HELL are you telling me all this now?!!!
Thane: For the angry sex.
Shepard: *Pounces*

*Tasha whistles innocently....*

Hehe, I don't really write smut. (Just the fade to black scenes I'm afraid ;) But if I did, I would go for it! After my current fic, I have some AMAZING ideas for a Thane fic. Unfortunately, I can only focus on one fic at a time. But my plans for Thane...

If you want, I can tell them, but it will mean spoilers...

Fade to black never really bothered me. I do wonder if they are going to do fade to black again in ME3.

I don't rewrite anything from the games in my fanfiction. So it isn't the pre existing fade to back scenes. But I never had a problem with them really.

As much as the perverts in us would have liked it, a computer game is hardly going to put in graphic scenes are they? Hehe. And I will send you a PM Ava about the Thane fic :D

I like the sweet, emotional scenes better. The romance scenes that get too physical are just awkward to watch, in my opinion. Maybe that's partly because my least favorite characters are the ones who get those kind of scenes, but it's nice when the romance scenes are more "aww, how cute" than "don't need to see that, look away and give these characters their privacy." Thane's scene was romantic, and a little sad at the same time. Very fitting for his character.

I liked the ME1 romance scenes. The only problem I had was that they were all the same. Only Liara's was a little different at the begining. I like the scenes from ME2 also, and was glad that they were all diffenent. Kim I agree that Thane's seen was very romantic, and emotional. It is my favorite one from the game.

You know, I never noticed that I'm with Kim on this. My least favourite characters have the more sexual scenes, and my most favourite characters have the more emotional scenes. Funny that...

And yeah, everyone else is jealous of Thane's but-grabbin' lovin' :D

You don't like Miranda and Jack much?

Though Jack does have very emotional scene.

I count Jack's Paragon romance as emotional rather than physical, and it is among my favorites. The Renegade "romance" is physical, but a lot more tame than some of the others. Miranda's scene could have been more tastefully done, in my opinion. And I don't like her character, but I don't quite hate her either. I did like some of her romance conversations, just... not the end scene. (I like her end scene for a non-romanced Shepard though.)

And just to make this Thane-related, a list of my overall favorite Mass Effect romances, in order:

1. Garrus
2. Tali
3. Thane
4. Jack

I don't particularly like the others, even though I'll have Shepards for each of them. Ironically, Miranda probably is #5, in comparison to the others - but it's a distant #5.

I love Jack. But like Kim says, I count her scene as emotional as opposed to anything else. Miranda's scene. I don't like Miranda, but I see that as a sign of a good character, because I feel about them strongly in a certain way, doesn't matter whether it's a positive or negative reaction, still shows a well created character.

If that made sense?
I think Thane's is the most emotional scene. It contains, anger, confusion, love and passion. Very varied in such a short amount of time.

Would like a shirtless Thane for ME3 though... :D

Thane's romance seems to be the most "romantic," in my opinion. That's using the traditional sense of romantic. He is the only one to admit that he loves Shepard.

Miranda made a horrible first impression with me when she said she wanted to put a control chip in Shepard's brain. Although, that helped TIM make a great first impression with me for refusing it. If not for that and her choice of words in the argument with Jack, I would probably like her. Her personality is pretty similar to my Katherine Shepard, and I like all of my Shepards.

Yeah, the control chip remark really got to me too. Also, her personality in general, but this is a Thane thread, hehe.

Kim, I have just read Evolution 2 and 3, and I am dismayed by the lack of Drell. But so excited that we got to see Palaven!!! I hope we get to see Kahje though. I love sea aliens (like the Zora) often in fantasy sci-fi. So I would love to see what the undersea cities of Kahje look like.

And I want to see where the drell would live, and in what sort of state? I imagine it wouldn't be pretty, but considering the state of drell, that is expected. Even though we have no information as to how exactly the Drell live on Kahje.

I somehow always imagine Kahje having small towns on small islands in a completely massive ocean where the Drell live.
Also, I hate Miranda personally, despite I probably agree with her on many, many aspects. Same with Jack. Funny how that works.
