I didn't expect to see any drell during the First Contact War, but it would be great to see the hanar's homeworld in ME3. I really hope it gives off an Atlantis vibe. That would be so awesome. :D

And Tasha, now that you've finished reading Evolution, tell me what you think about Saren and his brother in the Garrus/Turian thread. Posted Image

Done Kim :D

And yeah, I didn't expect to see many drell there, just keeping it all on topic ;)

I imagine that Kahje will be almost opposite to Rakhana's climate. I see Rakhana as being hot, dry and with many deserts. But Thane says that in Kahje, it always rains, and much of the planet is covered in water (probably much more than Earth, even.)

I'd love to see Kahje. It's probably a very beautiful planet. I'm also curious about Rakhana. Does it say how many drell actually still live on Rakhana? I can't remember. I wonder if Thane has ever been there.

I'm glad we finally ge to go to earth in ME3.

I've never thought of the amount of Drell still living on Rakhana... Survival of the fittest I guess. Thane said that after the Hanar took a few thousand drell with them to Kahje, and if Shepard asks about the drell remaining on Rakhana, he quoted some human philosopher. And said that the remaining billions of drell fought between them for scraps of food.

Hey, it could happen with Earth...

That's the one! (Second time I've said that to you today, no?)

Also, due to popular demand... THANE VID: FUTURISTIC LOVER MUST BE REPOSTED AGAIN!!

The lyrics fit so well! And the very last scene is HOT.
Different DNA... The xenophile here loves it Posted Image

That video is great. It fits Thane perfectly. I love that surveillance video, especially the way he just turns and shoots out the camera. I love the way it was added at the end. I will probably never be able to hear that song again and not think of this video or Thane.

So true - I heard it for the first time on the radio while driving around town the other day, and it was like the video was playing in my head!  I will always associate that song with Thane.

It's as if she literally sang the song for him. I couldn't think of any better lyrics.

I'm a metal head. And remarkably, futuristic lover is now the only 'dance' song that I like. Just because of that video.

How did you do this to me Thane! And the lyrics are amazing!

So I have a little theory about how we might be able to save Thane in ME3. After fighting and killing (or disabling) a Reaper, Shep teams up with Thane and board it to get info on the Reapers. After exploring the Reaper, Shep comes across a massive Reaper data bank. Unfortunatly for Shep, more Reapers are on there way so Shep needs to leave. This is where the choice comes in, you can either download Reaper weapon data, which could help you develop new advanced weapons to fight the Reapers, or you can download the medical data that the Reapers have gathered over millions of years, and that could cure Thanes' disease and many other diseases. It would also help us develop advanced medical tech that would pretty much get rid of all illnesses.

So, what are your thoughts on this?

Sounds good. I was also thinking of something along those lines, but more like, say, during the ending of one of the major missions, you get a call from the Normandy saying you've found some Hanar research station near where you're at where they've found a possible cure for the disease. Going after it might endanger the team but otherwise, Thane dies.
I'd rather have it restricted to Thane himself, and no other diseases, so we can have a more ethically questionable choice.

I like both of these theories. However, I don't think that the Hanar providing a cure in time will go down well with a lot of fans. This is because Thane says it is very unlikely that the hanar will provide a cure for Keprel's syndrome during his lifetime.

I like the idea of using ethically questionable data from the enemy to cure Thane. But I also think that restricting the cure to Thane would be better. That way, all the Sihas will be happy. All the haters will be, and those who would prefer to use the other choice will be happy.

People said it was very unlikely that the world was round. Scientists have a way of surprising us.

True, but don't you think a sudden 'miracle cure' would cheapen Thane's character? And also, it is hinted that Thane won't get a miracle cure with that statement.

I'm firmly against the miracle cure, but if you have to sacrifice a teammate and precious time to stop the reapers to get that cure, it's not as miraculous.
Edit: All this back-and-forthing is making me worried about you grabbing the next top too.

It will be a while yet Nod. And also, this is the most active the Thane thread has been in a looong time. Must be because I posted futuristic lover... Hehe.

And yeah, a choice seems like the path Bioware will take. I just hope they do the scene well, and the type of choice well. But I still think it will be unlikely that a cure will be made by the hanar. I think it will be cooler if reaper or collector technology was used to prolong his life unnaturally... Hehe.

Meh. If Collector/Reaper technology was involved, it would probably mean that the cure wouldn't just be for Thane, which I hope it will be for reasons already mentioned.
Perhaps not the Hanar then, perhaps a Salarian group? Like the one Garrus contacted?

A sudden miracle cure would be weird, indeed. But... damn, I would sacrifice my whole crew for Thane... I'm probably a bad, selfish commander but if my drell is going to die in ME3 I'll be so devastated. :crying:

Nice to see ya on here Celbess! And I would definately have a playthrough for that. (You know, sacrificing people and stuff for Thane.)

But if it was a choice between Garrus and Thane, then my mind would just implode.
And yeah, salarians are more likely to develop a cure than the hanar.

All Thane fans need to watch that video! Must be reposted on the Thane thread frequently :D

The fact that Garrus, Tali and Joker are part of my crew would force me to leave Thane, but damn, that'd hurt.

But still!
If Bioware forces me to make a decision like that, I will be really, really mad at them.

I admit, on my first playthrough, I will sit there for about 10 minutes just staring dumbly at the screen...
Especially if it was Garrus v Thane. I mean, CRUEL! But I know that won't happen, so I'm safe!

Don't underestimate Bioware's cruelty. I mean, look at Thane:
''Hello, I'm a super hot and badass assasin''
One minute later.
''I'm dying''.
