Who has been confirmed as squad mates?? Missed out on a lot I have, hehe

In the new issue of the journal GameInformer great article on ME3. There is information on the confirmed squad mates and characters. There are many more interesting things.
I liked husk-batarians (identify by the number of eyes). They are terrible. I hope they make terrible sounds, that the image was complete. Remember how many years ago, I was afraid of monsters in the game Doom, but still switch on a computer and play. It was a disturbing fear. Nostalgia.

And monima kitten! Where have you been? You changed your profile pic recently so took me twice to realise who you were! Great to see ya back! And Im sure it's Thane too :D

Had a bit of pc trouble then I got lost a bit in DA2.But did not forget about my favourite green alien and fellow drellickers:D
Still await news, but I dont think they will tell us much about Thane before the game really.

With ME2, the big spoilers weren't revealed until JUST before the release of the game. So I am wondering if the same will apply with Thane. I mean, his fate is one of the more controversial subjects of ME3. Probably one of the 'big' spoilers.'

And of course, who can forget about us awesome drellickers? If you need a new drellickers sig monima, then feel free to use one of the others or mine :D

I didn't read any spoilers before ME2 came out. I probably won't be able to do that with ME3. At the very least I have to know what happens to Thane.

Ok, here is one of my favourite Thane fanarts. Made by the arty, nekkid expert lydlyd here in BSN. (Yes, lydlyd, I am pimpin' you again!)

Haha thank you!:D And I'm a nekkid expert?!?! AWESOME!!!! I didn't know I had it in me. ^_^

I don't want to think negative thoughts about Thane's prospects in ME3.  SURELY all that development on his character, and on his romance isn't all for nought?  Well that's how I want to think it, at least.  Ah drat all this talk of Thane in ME3 makes me want to play ME2 all over again.

Haha, you certainly are lydlyd! We don't even have the pleasurrre of seeing a shirtless Thane, and yet you do it very... nicely :D

And I'm wanting to get a perfect playthrough for my Thane shep and mainshep now! Because Thane WILL have an awesome role!

I'm trying to stay optimistic but I can't help but worry about Thane. The article says the characters weren't introduced only to be swept under the rug yet some of them might only end up with cameos or join up for one mission. I'm hoping Thane's status as a potential love interest will make it possible for him to be a full on squad member.

ME3 takes place a couple months after the end of ME2. Arrival can happen anywhere between Horizon and after the suicide mission so we can't tell exactly how long after Arrival that ME3 starts.
Because there is no canon order to things, we don't know exactly how long it's been since Thane told Shepard he has a year left.
I am pretty certain he will still be alive at the start of ME3 plus a few months even without a cure :)

Love your optimism. I do agree though. Even without a cure who knows how long he can live. Its a disease, so nothing is ever certain. Bioware could just say that he lived longer than expected if they wanted too. Happens in real life as well.

Yes, it's from the Game Informer article. Casey Hudson talked about how “Some characters are going to be absolutely core to the story. They’re squad members. The whole structure of the story kind of pivots around them. Others will be conventional squad members that you can choose to have with you or not…. Some characters might be there for just a mission, but they’re a squad member in that mission. And some characters might have cameo appearances.”

The article goes on to say that you can “safely assume all the major characters will return in some capacity.”

I'm just wondering in what capacity Thane will return? I hope he's there for the majority of the game not just one mission or a quick cameo. If he's not there it would break my poor Sheps heart (and mine).

In ME2 Bioware put alot of emphasis on Thane's romance. I really think they played him out to be the primary romance for Femshep, "The dashing hero with a tragic fate, despite all odds they end up loving eachother" kind of deal. Garrus was EXTREMELY underplayed, (much to my dismay). And Jacob....did anyone really care about him? I just saw him as a simple fling that would flirt with my shep everytime I asked him how his day was.

Indeed Thane was most definitely more than just a throw away. I also think Bioware knows that there will be an uproar should anything happen. In a way they kinda safegaurded themselves in making it so the Hanar are looking for a cure for Kepral's syndrome.

I dont really care so much that hes around the entire game. I just hope he lives.

I want him cured too. Just saying its not far fetched for him to be in the game even if they dont decide to cure him. I am hopefull my shep gets her happy ending. She has suffered enough

I dunno if someone mentioned this pages back, but does anyone else think of Thane and/or Garrus when they hear that Katy Perry song ET? It's not my type of music, but I can't help but think of Mass Effect 2, aka "Alien Sex: The Game."

Thinking of Garrus makes that "fill me with your poison" line take on a whole new meaning.

But back onto your topic, Jacob romance seemed weird to me after they added Kasumi, since it's clear she really likes him. If your Shep was dating Jacob, doesn't Kasumi still make those comments and pine after him? It's a bit odd to share, or for Kasumi to drool over her friend and Commander's boyfriend.

I agree that it feels like Thane is the "primary" choice, but I'm a bit biased. Garrus could have been the primary choice, but you're right, it feels almost wasted. Maybe that romance will be fleshed out better in ME3 and less of an awkward tension reliever.

Thane is a romance option so I am pretty sure he will have more than only a cameo in ME3. I hope that the romance options are available for all missions (or at least most of the missions) because it does not make sense that they leave Shep. Maybe all LIs will have a personal quest too (I think this was said for Garrus).

Surely Bioware is not going to give us all details about ME3 yet - we have to wait until end of this year, which is a long time and so it is understandable that they will give us information only partially. So characters not mentioned or confirmed yet has nothing really to say - it is just to make it more thrilling.

I didn't do his romance myself, but from what I've heard Jacob got a lot more lines than Thane or Garrus. He even got lines after the suicide mission. He also seems to be the only one that they let ask Shepard how she's doing. I know Thane askes her also, but I think with Jacob she gives more of an answer than I'm fine. I agree Garrus didn't really get to many lines at all.

I certainly hope Thane is not a throw away character. I don't remember how long, but I think they spent a lot of time creating him. It would be a waste to just toss him aside.

Jacob was just so lack luster. So undefined. Although this is purely my opinion. I dunno I just saw my shepard romancing him, they flirt then all of a sudden hes like "OOOOOHHHH I didnt know my commander was an option." I'm sitting there thinking how stupid this boy was. Its true you do get a nice snip bit after the Suicide mission, but I'd rather hold Thane's hand than kiss and hug Jacob.

I can point out alot of bad points about the consistancy of Jacob (And Miranda).

I just realized how much I hate human love interests in these games....

I didn't do Jacob or Mirandas romance so I don't know much about those two. The only human LI I have in the game is Kaidan.  I also have one for Garrus and the other two are for Thane. He's my favorite and I love the fact that they let you hold hands with him. It's just one of the many things I love about his romance.

I did Jacob and Thane and I am pleased with both guys. For me, I guess, Jacob, if you continue to talk with him, reminds me A LOT of Kaidan. He really does, only he takes more and is willing to be more open with you and does show more emotion than Kaidan (Even though, Kaidan was my guy until Thane came into my life.♥).

However, I have people trying to get me on the bandwagon with a Jack and Thane pairing and from a very famous fanfic that someone wrote using the couple, people seem to be moved by the pairing. Personally, I hated Jack's whole personally and how she carried herself and I have explained that she would be a pure insult to Thane in every way possible. Thane is not someone, with the way he carried himself as a spiritual man (The main thing that I love about him.) with someone who is just off their rocker like Jack. I just don't see that happening and I don't a rat's bootay what some fanfiction says (Attacking the pairing, not the writer!).

To me, she is beneath him mentally, soulfully, and spiritually. However, in a hypocritical way, I like Jack for how strong-willed and bad@SS she really is. I mean, the girl is BAD when it comes to battle. But, even though I helped her, I was friends with her at a distance and I feel that Thane is too much a blessing for her come and screw up. I think Thane would see a lot of his son, as far as rebellion is concerned, in Jack and be interested in her in that sense. But, as a romantic interest...? No. No way. Thane is a one of kind man and the mere thought of someone like Jack tainting him just makes me wanna throw something. LOL. But, that's just me and how I feel on that.

I've romanced everyone in ME2 (the ones who grant paramoure and Samara), and no one in ME 1. The most disappointing ones are of course the people i mentioned earlier. Tali was my favorite romance being a maleshep, but that comes from my obsessive personality towards her. I just find her sweet, I think it was adorable how she talked to Shep and how she mentioned she was interested.

Jack is also a favorite of mine. She develops nicely over time, the thing that confused me is I could actually have my shepard like, have sexual relations with her which I did at first and had to go back, it was only later why I saw that was a bad idea. So in a way you have to overcome that hard shell she has on in order to get to the soft sweet inside. I didnt like Jack UNTIL i romanced her. As for a pairing on ThanexJack I can actually see it happening. Thane has this overwhelming desire to take out corruption, heck I think thats why he sees himself as a weapon. Jack has alot of "corruption." I can see it working.

I never romanced Kaiden, never wanted to but my husband said that Jacob and him are alike. Hes just to plain, too samey, he has father issues like Miranda, and yes they are both justified, but dwelling on it as long as they did is idiotic. Miranda I can go on and on about. But really her air of "I'm perfect and theres nothing I can do about it, whoo is me." Just pisses me off, she constantly mentions it. It was also wrong of her to take her sister's life into her own hands, she was barely old enough to live on her own when she took her sister. Yes she knew what was to come but that was the choice for her sister to make, and it was a radical one. I also dont like how she treated Jack, knowing the torture she had been thorugh, she should have stepped down in her fight with her, knowing Jack's instability. I think thats what pissed me off most, her being perfect and not realizing when its just best to shut her mouth. When Legion and Tali fought, if you gave the Paragon option Tali compromised and even apologized to Legion, her sworn enemy. But Miranda couldnt even say sorry to Jack. Miranda's Omage 4 relay scene was also just REALLY ackward.

So anyway tl:dr version. Thane and Tali =best romance options.
