Hey all, just dropping in to show this sweet sketch card commission I got from Aimo:

*Thane and Samara snip*

It's so amazing how his DLC outfit looks better without the shades.

Enjoy! =>

Excellent!  Aimo is a good artist, I like her style.

I love Thanes alternate outfits, just not the shades though!

I just read some news from that very PSM saying that some characters are gone and some are coming back and had the nerve to put the word "unpopular" beside the likes of my beloved Thane, and cool women like Samara. I believe that this is a scare tactic. I truly do.

I plan to stay with Game Informer...because PSM is trying to make us have a stroke saying that we won't see Thane AT ALL in ME3 and I know that's a lie...you can read about it here: Characters "So-Called" Gone From ME3.

*WARNING* Read the information given by PSM that the poster speaks about with a GRAIN OF SALT mixed with nasty CASTOR OIL and vineager!

"His story feels played out and his allegiance to Shepard is isn't as strong as with the other crew members."
Arrrghh! They forgot about all Thane/Shep?

Thane had less than a year left when he joined Shepard, right? Cut off a few months and the increased physical activity, he has maybe half left unless he gets 'cured'. Assuming he doesn't, what would you guys like to see in ME3 that would fit his "Dying moments of Awesome"?

Nothing they can do will make it justice.

First off I don’t see him lying in hospital being treated in a game. Him being already dead before me3 not only is impossible from what facts we know but is also really unfair. Him having to sacrifice himself and go in a blaze of glory would make the whole thing less noble since he is already dying. If the disease just kills him in the middle of the game I do not think Shepard’s sadness could be represented in a way that I would be satisfied. She’ll go on like nothing happened and I won’t be able to role-play that kind of cold character anymore.

So Thane MUST NOT DIE. I hope the whole fiasco was just a glimpse into the difficulties hanar and drell are having. And I hope we get to see Kahje and that we finally get the stupid cure from those big stupid jellyfishes.

I can't imagine Mass Effect without Thane [now post ME2].

Never been much of an advocate because I never felt he needed the support.

Edit: Maybe Thane could skip death by giving up his physical form to become a Virtual alien if no cure is possible?

I always thought that taking Thane to Pragia was kinda ironic given his condition. Mind you, Jack wearing no protection from what is likely to be deadly climates is also kinda odd.

Of course, it doesn't beat bringing Legion onto the Flotilla Image IPB.

lol! I brought Legion into the Flotilla just to see what ANYONE would say and they said nothing. Thought I was the only one who did that. LOL!

Is it just me who (on first meeting thane), thought that we were going to have a plot twist where it turned out that the drell were effectively the asari male race but had separated early in evolution - like when all the penguins split up to seek hot and cold lives or whatever - or been forcibly separated by the reapers/collector experiments? seems really stupid now I read it back lol..

I love the drell. I hope that they explore them, thane in particular, a lot more (if not in ME3 then in a damn good followup!) besides, they've got great potential for awesome looking females and plenty of diversity in skintone, markings, facial structure, 'gills/whatever-the-head-things-are'... we've only met thane, kolyat and feron in game, but they were all fricking bad-ass - and looked real cool. If I was ever to play as a non-human in a mass effect game, it would obviously be the drell =)

Edit: that video above is ****ing awesome

Also bear in mind that increased physical activity increases the time he has left to live, according to Chakwas, the god-queen of medicine.

That "death time eta" was based on "not taking care of himself anymore and am basically just waiting to die" Thane. I'd wager that "taking care of himself properly" Thane has significantly more time in him. I still think he should be in trouble, at least for the majority of the game, but bedridden both isn't his style and isn't consistent with the way we've seen this illness described.

I honestly thought the drell were going to be the men-only counterpart to the asari, esp. given Thane was essentially a Design-by-Committe type of character meant to appeal to the female fanbase like the asari were for the males (not that it ended up being a bad thing, but let's be realistic here). And if they reproduced, it'd probably be spore-esque like, uh, the Namekians from Dragon Ball Z.

(Don't judge me)

If you use the editor and bring Thane to the plague quarantine zone, well.... let's just say it's EVIL.

Legion does get a few mentions in the flotilla. Keyword is FEW.

Oh and hi BlackEssence... I think we've met before XP

I have never taken him to Pragia. Mainly because I do that mission early in the game.

What? Really? How does that work? Any references like a video or some-such? This is gonna mess up my fan fic for sure :pinched:

Anyways, about turning into a virtual alien : Plausible, Thane mentions in-game that the soul can be seperate from the body right? This would be a more literal version.

J, Kai Leng is a Cerberus assassin from the books. Said to be one of the best in the galaxy, but I bet Thane would kick his ass.

And lol at drell being the male equivalent of asari! They sure looked like that at first, but when you get talking to Thane and learn about the culture and personality of drell, then they couldn't be more different.

And I thought the gif was gonna show that bit at the end, but it doesn't... LOL!

That explains why I didn't know who he was. I haven't read any of the books. Since Thane is rumored to be the most skilled assassin in the galaxy he probably is one of the only people that could kick his ass Tasha. I wish Bioware would let him since Cerberus is sending Kai Leng after Shepard.

I'm so glad that they didn't make the Drell the male equivalent of the Asari. I never really thought they were suppose to be, but I guess since Thane was created for the female gamer I can see how it would look that way at first.

Mind you, drell have so much history and their past is tragic. Whereas nothing much has happened to the asari. But in terms of appearance, I can see it.

I actually thought that drell looked like a race that would favour the water. But the fact that Keprel's syndrome is casued by an aversion to moisture kinda proved me wrong there!

If Cerberus are sending assassins after Shepard, there is a lot of speculation that Kai Leng would be sent. If that was a case, then I agree, a Kai Leng/Thane showdown would be epic.

Kai Leng has been confirmed by Casey Hudson, Tasha. He will be the one ultimately sent to deal with Shepard.

Also, thanks for the support, Skarwael! Appreciated.

A Thane/Leng showdown would have to be melee. Let's see...

Thane has denser muscle tissue, making him stronger. But I think his throat might be a weak spot?
Kai Leng uses knives (I think) while Thane uses his fists, but Thane has biotics.
Thane was trained from a very young age, while Kai Leng had N7 training, which could mean that Kai Leng possesses a stronger natural ability to fight.

Really? In that case awesome! A Kai/Thane showdown is necessary then!

And Thane's biotics will definately give him the upper hand.

Besides, the fact that TIM got Thane on Shepard's team as opposed to Kai Leng says that he may be the better assassin. He was trained since the age of 8 after all. And if TIM didn't hand Kai Leng over to Shepard's team in favour of Thane...

You know, if Thane leapt to Shepard's defence when Kai Leng tries to kill him/her, then that would be ridiculously awesome. Let the showdown begin!
