Seeing Thane and Kai Leng throw down would be epic, to say the least. Especially if Shepard was engaged in battle, then Thane comes to save the day.
That picture may be when the Normandy is in dock somewhere. That skylight would be a good entry point. Ahhhh, the speculation is killing me.
And waiting for information on Thane is torture.

I'm so glad that they didn't make the Drell the male equivalent of the Asari. I never really thought they were suppose to be, but I guess since Thane was created for the female gamer I can see how it would look that way at first.
I was quite shocked when I saw the first Thane drawings in a GI article (www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2010/02/09/drawing-mass-effect-the-creation-of-thane.aspx) last year. And I really laughed about the female feedback on these drawings:
"we were thinking maybe Thane was like the perfect man. Maybe he had like this mannequin head, but he had this slight fuzz of hair, almost like a baby – with number one you can see it on his forehead. We kept messing around with this red mark that we thought might be his key feature. What we usually do is get feedback from some people at this point, and the women looked at these and went, ‘I'm not sure about that guy. He's got a giant red mark on his face and he’s creepy.’ And we were like, ‘what he looks cool.’ So we went back to the drawing board."
Oh, I wish I could thank these women! ^^
Haha, I remember reading that.
It is a very good thing they asked for female input. I very good thing indeed.

I don't expect my Thaney-poo to have a lame cameo appearance. I think Thane will have a bigger role in this and I do think he was be a squaddie in ME3 along with the other members. Like other pointed out, in lotSB, there is no way they can leave us hanging like that without a conclusion. We still have until the fall of this year and so much can be added, especially, with as big as fan base Thane has. Any idea can be scraped and something new can be formed.
Ugh, a cameo would be awful.
If his role in the game turns out to be the equivalent of the VS in ME2 I will not be happy.
Hopefully, they won't do that.

At least, that's my hope. They also really played up his romance, not to mention that letter you get in his dossier via LotSB. I have a feeling he'll be back for sure.

That article was at least 50% random speculation. It was not good game journalism by any stretch of the imagination.

Pretty much this.
I think we'll see Thane back for ME3. I have no doubt about that. The man never gives up on a job. Seryna (the asari that we talk to to start up Thane's recruitment mission) tells us that. The job ain't finished yet. Neither is Thane's story.

And I agree, but the fact that they are revealing info on (most) other characters and not Thane can only mean that they have spoilerific plans for him! After all, no one knew Garrus was Archangel (apart from speculation) until the game came out.
Oh, what a beautiful moment when he took off his helmet...
And what a beautiful moment it would be if Thane broke into the jail to save Shepard. And had a showdown with Kai Leng...

I think most people will be back especially the characters with a deep (past and present) story (Thane, Tali, Zaeed, Legion. etc). There are just too many blanks in their stories.
Ashley and Kaiden were cameos since they were simply Alliance personnel with a history based purely on military training. Thane had training with Hanar who have Prothean relics, he has shady contacts, he had a woman he cared for before Shepard, he has a son, he's dying, and the list goes on. I'm confident Bioware won't cast him aside, they put too much money and effort into him.

I agree
A cameo would just be awful. If they did that to him than all the time and effort they spent in creating him would be for nothing. I wouldn't wish what happened to the VS in ME2 on anybody. I'm really hoping that they don't do that with Thane. He's a great character and it would be such a waste.

He also fills in the sex appeal for the ladies. I mean, Garrus could handle that section too, but not everyone is into avian looking aliens. Yeah, just me
So unless they are bringing in new LI's. They have a gap in their fanservice.
And in Thane's case, I like fanservice

Thane is also one of the 'semi-popular' characters. Not quite in the Garrus, Tali, Liara and Miranda league. But still quite popular.

I wouldn't call Thane semi-popular. No he isn't as popular as Garrus or Tali, but neither is Liara or Miranda. I wouldn't put those two in the same catagory as Garrus or Tali. Honestly the only really popular character is Garrus. Tali is popular, but It seems like she has an equal amount of people that don't like her. Most people like Garrus. Thane is pretty popular. Maybe not by these boards, but BSN is a small percentage of the people that play the game.

I don't know how popular Thane is, exactly. I can say with confidence that I believe he is far, far more popular outside the BSN main forums. Bottom line, he is a LI for Shepard (which is always convieniently tossed aside or forgotten on the main forums). If one LI makes it through to ME3, then they all should. If one LI gets a happy ending with Shepard, then they all should.

Thanks, Tasha! I've been super busy working on projects. It's hard to keep up with everything.
And I agree with this statement!
BTW, I'm working on something you guys are gonna love... yes, my precious.

This I agree with. Especially the last part. Why shouldn't all LI's get some kind of happy ending with Sheard. I don't think that is asking for to much.
