The suicide mission line was: "I hear it, a sea. You look beautiful, my siha."

I say "was" because it had been cut from the actual game, for some unknown reason.

I'm pretty damn sure it was ''You look beautiful, my siha. I can hear it, a sea'' not the other way 'round.
Hmmm, gotta find that thread again...
Edit: Ha! First post here in way too long (I am ashamed), and still I get top of the page. Beautiful.

Out of curiousity I looked it up on youtube, and under no circumstances do I want to see anything like that happen with Thane. I've never even played this game and that was just sad. I'm don't think I could handle something like this happening to him. I want my Shepard to have her happy ending with Thane.

I really hope the Bioware guys don't want to make us cry. Well, maybe tears of joy, that'd be no problem :D But I'm fairly sure they do not intend to break our hearts.

It'd just suck so bad if we can't continue the romance. If every other romance had the opportunity to be continued except for Thane's, I would be absolutely heartbroken!

Let's just hope that Bioware will realize this and not do that to us.

There's no way I'm going back to Kaiden. Not that I hate him or anything, but he's not Thane.

I don't agree with curing Thane, but I think he souldn't die until ME3's epilogue.

If Thane is going to die, I'm hoping it won't be until some time later in the game.

Because to be honest (and I'm being dead serious), I romanced Kaidan in ME1, knowing full well that I was moving on to Thane in ME2, because I've been hoping there's a U MAD BRAH? option if/when Kaidan confronts my Shep in ME3, and I want Thane there when it happens.

I realise this probably makes me a horrible human being, but I can't bring myself to care.

Haha, don't feel bad. You're not the only one.

I actually really hope something interesting comes out of it. Except if it's both of them being mad forever.

That wouldn't be cool.

What I figure is something like Kaidan being all 'but what about us?' and Shepard's pretty much like 'what about it, Mister Alliance?'

I can see Thane trying to be nice and telling Shepard he understands if she wants to end things, and Shepard grumbling 'Don't be ridiculous, get back into bed.'

And Thane will probably smirk a little. :D

I actually did the same thing just to see what will happen. I do have one loyal playthrough for Kaidan, but I wanted to do an unloyal one just to see if there will be consequences. I hope it's a little bit better than LotSB, because Liara got over it pretty quickly.

Hello Thane fans...*waves*

I've been playing ME2 again which has had me pondering about his being cured in ME3. I've always *wanted* a cure but sometimes I've been unsure if it was asking too much.

I'm now clear in my mind that a cure *is* the best way for the story to go with only one exception. If Mordin doesn't survive... it's not going to happen.

Mordin Solus altered the genophage, distracted the seeker swarms, and cured a collector engineered plague in ME2... it's surely going to only take him a couple of weeks in that lab to cure Thane's Keprals, he just needs to put his mind to it. It made no sense whatsoever that we could not have a discussion with Mordin regarding Thane's condition. I'll be optimistic and take that as a discussion we're still to have:whistle:. *crosses fingers*

I'm sure all above has been said already, but I just wanted to put my view across.

Please cure Thane Bioware! I've only got 1 shep who won't be destroyed if you don't

Agreed and agreed.  I think it'd be neat for Chakwas or Mordin to have a hand in curing / finding a treatment (more for the Mordin Solus biography vid)!  I hope that we'll get the hanar involved (because I want to go to Kahje).

Also, Thane.

The hanar will hopefully be involved in some kind of cure or treatment, because I would love to go to Kahje. Especially since it appears we are going to a couple of other homeworlds.

Going to Kahje would really cool, they just need some mordin genius to jump their genetic research forward a decade. It must happen!!

The problem is only half genetic, though. What Thane needs is a way to reverse the process, not prevent it in the first place. His needs are biological/pure medical, as opposed to something like gene therapy.

I'm surprised tissue grafts aren't possible. :/

antibiotic cure + genetic tinkering + transplants??

I really find the whole incurable illness thing to be a bit awkward in the context of the Mass Effect universe and all the medical accomplishments that *are* possible. For me there is no doubt that Thane *could* be logically cured, it's just whether the writers want to make us happy, or would rather make us cry.

Indeed.  Which is, for me, why the whole thing about Thane being a viable transplant candidate yet he turned it down (most likely before epic table fistpunch and drellsnogging) is pretty interesting.

Obviously, transplant is possible which means treatment for Kepral's Syndrome is feasbile.  (It's all in the dossier.)  Synthetic lung generation (hello Lazarus Project) is currently impossible for drell, but have the Hanar made any progress on that front in the time we've been out there chasing Collectors?  And what about Collector tech, could we find something with research that could help? Are we talking a full on complete organ transplant or just tissue?  What is the success rate?  Are there side effects? Complications?  Does the organ / tissue need to be a genetic match? (Because if not, I know this guy who's just hogging space on the Shadow Broker's ship.)

And when you start thinking about it all that way, it kind of gets a little harder to say that Thane needs to die or should die when there are any number of ways around that (well within the medical logic of the story).

The medical report was written well before the epic fistpunch, otherwise it wouldn't make much sense.

Exactly, so many ways in which Thane's condition can be helped in the universe of Mass Effect. I, personally wouldn't want a simple cure. But people who come out and say 'he can't be cured' are beong closed minded when there are all these variables.

Thane Krios 007 FTW! :o

It would be interesting to have easter eggs like that in ME3, like that Legion dance.

How very poised you are there Mr. Krios...

Although I prefer a little drell chest exposure myself ;)

Also, if there is a Thane-related Easter egg in ME3, any ideas on what Easter eggs could be incorporated?
