Quick question:


I've seen a number of Thane related fanart with similiar body markings when he's shirtless. Is there some sort of canon source for this, or is it just a fanon thing?

There is no canon source for this. Are you referring to the dark green stripes, yes?

However, Bioware once said that they had the dark green marks on his face (such as under his lips) to provide a contrast and balance to the tones of his face. So I think a lot of people have used that for his whole body. I think the dark green markings on his body in fanart look good though!

I love how some of the artists render Thane. If I had any artistic talent, he's one of the characters I would choose. Just so much left open to the imagination.

Oh, I don't have a problem with the markings, although what I picture mentally is different. I was just curious because I've seen a handful with very similar markings and thought I'd missed something. Thanks guys!

I think a lot of artists draw inspiration from other artists when it comes to deciding how a shirtless drell looks. When it came to deciding myself how to draw them, I was particularly inspired by this piece by IccaRa.

Big, BIG NEWS! Well, some of you may have heard already, but I just read and article of what is to be expected in ME3 and in not so many words....well, NO words at all, our beloved Thane is coming back!

These LI WILL meet each other...and it won't be pretty.  Can you just imagine Thane, shockingly, losing his composer for just a minute against Kaidan? Goodness...I need a glass of water.




























So, who all is excited about the news? And a bit nervous? Lord knows, I am. Big changes are coming to ME3. When it comes out in 2012, we are gonna have our socks knocked off!

You're scaring me, Valentia, because that SAME thought came to me when I read that article. I was like, "O-M-Freakin' G!". And like you, I want to handle Kaidan the way I wanted to but couldn't in ME2. I wanna tell him off and what I hated about the way he treated me on horizon was that even though I was "dead" at the time, he moved on so fast. I mean, REALLY fast. Then, he sees me, won't be reasonable when I tell him what I have been through, and then sends me that, Lord forgive me, half-a**ed email and expects me to just take it all in stride when he makes it seem like he doesn't know if he can be with me. That's why I left him for Thane and should those two meet.....lawd have mercy on me!

Muahaha. In my headcanon, Shepard shows the letter to Garrus, who then proceeds to write a b--chtastic letter to Kaidan calling him a doucherocket (or the turian version thereof). ~*bros4lyfe*~

I'm curious to see whether Thane maintains his composure. Part of me wants him to stay serene, because somehow this translates into troll!Thane and Kaidan looking like an arse. But (and I think the majority of the fangirls feel this way, but I could be wrong) there's something really attractive of jealous!Thane telling Kaidan to step off his girlfriend before he judo chops him out of an airlock.


Give me drama, bioware. I want the lulz.

How do you guys picture the conversation between Kaiden and Thane? I would love to hear your guys thoughts. =)

I picture Thane being calm and collected yet maybe raise his voice a bit if Kaiden gets touchy. I don't expect them two pulling punches (That's not like them even though it would be funny XDD).

Kaiden: So did you enjoy your sloppy seconds, Thane?
Thane: Your jealously towards me is understandable but I will not discuss Shepard's and my private matters with you.

This just popped into my mind, guys. Sorry about that. I just found it funny. No offense to Kaiden (I like the guy, really.) XDD

I vote for Thane cleaning Kaidie's clock! Not gently, not after they way he treated Shep on Horizon. Don't know, maybe bff Garrus wants a piece as well. He was there and saw the whole thing.

Every time I write out how I think it will go down, Kaidan looks like a massive douche. Hm.


I imagine Thane at least initially being very polite, offering to shake hands, trying to be the adult while Kaidan gets angrier and angrier- like maybe Shepard and Thane were making plans to have a quiet, romantic dinner and Kaidan, who came to make amends with Shep, overhears this.

Depending on whether Shepard chooses the paragon, neutral, or renegade option, Thane's behaviour might be a little different. With paragon Shepard, Thane might keep taking the high road. Neutral behaviour would probably just that, neutral. Renegade Shepard might provoke a slightly more protective/aggressive Thane if he feels Kaidan crosses a line.


I want Thane to call Shep siha, though. I feel that it will make Kaidan's panties bunch up in rage.

But, seriously, I do agree that depending on how Shepard handles it and Kaiden's response in return, Thane will comment differently.

Okay guys, this is the most important question:


Do you want calm, unflappable Thane being all 'Siha is not a trophy to be won; she is a strong beautiful woman who knows her own mind'? Or do you want super protective or aggressive Thane?


Because I can't decide. Either situation is diabetes inducing for me. I enjoy Thane's calm intensity. But let's be honest; riled up Thane is pretty damn awesome too.

I can't decide either but thinking about it for a bit, I can see Thane being like: calm and cool, knowing that his Siha can take care of herself but he will defend her by any means necessary if it gets out of hand.

It does take alot for Thane to lose his cool.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting 'I'm going to jettison you over Mars' Thane. I was thinking more... obviously in a different context, but if you do the renegade interrupt with Thane on his mission whilst talking to Mouse, he gets a little agitated. 'My son is out there, in the darkness.' or what it is he says. I guess 'aggressive for him' would have been a better turn.
