Don't like that the realease date was pushed back, however.

I just hope there aren't any serious conseuqneces for so-called "cheating", such as both characters being unhappy with you.

I doubt that, seeing as how Garrus and Tali are both willing to date you and they'd most likely know about any previous shenanigans. Plus, the former LI's make it seem like they want nothing to do with us. I'd honestly just say 'I thought it was over', because the writing is vague enough to make any reasonable person think it would be over.


At least in my case, I got that letter from Kaidan after I'd recruited Thane (is anyone else amg frustrated that we can no longer recruit him earlier in the game, like they were originally going to do?!) and it was pretty much too little, too late.

This same thing came across my mind a while ago. I wanted to see if it was possible to some how do that, but I see that it can't since you don't get to the last 4 dossiers until AFTER you visit horizon. So frustating indeed!

I've seen some of the dialogue of later companions in pre-Horizon missions, which only makes it more annoying. I wish BW would have suggested burning the discs to harddrive in order to lessen disc swappage, but ultimately, I would have taken switching discs if I could get my people in the order that I wanted. D:

It's great news, and makes me so happy. I'm still wondering what they are going to do with him in ME3. While I'm not always a patient person I don't mind that it has been pushed back until 2012. Hopefully that means a much better game for us.

There shouldn't be any real serious consequences. I really hate that they called it cheating. I consider it moving on. Some people have an issue with Shepard moving on so quickly. To me it depends on your Shepard I guess. The one that moved on from Kaidan to Thane didn't really think her relationship with Kaidan was that serious. I don't think they had a lot of time together anyway. 

Maybe the the consequence will be that the old LI will be a little upset with you. Maybe they won't even talk to you. Other than that I don't think it will be anything to terrible. I do find myself looking forward to seeing what happens when they meet. I don't think there will be any kind of fight, but I think it will be interesting.
 
While I did think Kaidans romance was nice, one of the main reasons I chose him was because he was the only option. After the first two playthroughs I found myself wishing they had given us more options. I was thrilled when I saw that we had three in ME2, and I knew that I would be going for Thane. I really liked what I saw, and I loved the trailers of him. After I did the romance with him the first time, and was able to talk to him that was it for me. Thane was what I wanted for my Shepards and there was no going back.

I agree. I do not think it's really cheating seeing as they weren't actually together during ME2. Plus it has been 2 years (not really for Shepard, but for everyone else).
I think there will be some conflict, as I'd imagine your original LI still has feelings for Shepard. Maybe your ME1 LI won't approve of your new LI and that could cause some dislike, but I do not think it's going to mean as soon as the LIs meet, they will have a round of fistycuffs.

Speaking of fanfic, I recently started brainstorming and outlining a Thane-centered story. I have no idea if I will ever actually write it up and finish it; I have a bad habit of losing interest halfway through my stories. Currently, the story is set to take place post-ME3, with the assumption that Shepard, Thane's lover, had defeated the Reapers by giving her life. The initial title is Thane Krios: As I Lay Dying.

Should be interesting to see if I can pull it off.

Maybe that will help if you don't make it too long. Six chapters sounds pretty good. I thought maybe you were going for 25 or 30 chapters. Good luck with the story, and if you finish I look forward to reading it.

Also, I am glad that they have put it back. The estimated date was set for beginning of 2012 at first anyway, but I think EA wanted to rush it. I think it means more time and effort will be put into some lovin' with Thane

Also, I think I prefer a cool, calm Thane. I think that something would REALLY have to rile him up to get him angry. And then he would go all out. Like someone killing his Siha... They had best watch out for neck snapping vengeance!

If it's a true info, Im wonder if Thane is " cured" and we have chance for " happy ending" with him, or he will be with us only by certain part of the game..

Thane seems to be holding steady as of the end of the game, and he still has months left. If the game doesn't span more than a few months, I can't see why he can't hold on, unless they plan to make him degrade in-game.


I was thinking that for a side mission (maybe another damn anomaly) you find out that there's a potential cure or at least something that can blast the disease into remission. It might involve losing Thane for a set period of time while he goes in for treatment, which I'd be cool with if it means making him better.

Every major character has been confirmed to return in ME3 (if you didn't get them killed off in the previous games), which means Thane! Still no confirmation on whether he is a full-time squadmate, but it's looking likely! :happy:

So far, Ashley, Kaidan, Garrus, Liara and now Tali have been confirmed!
