From a realistic point of view, I'd expect Shepard to tell Thane to go back to Kahje while she goes to Earth and face the music. Something like "We'll meet again soon... hopefully".

I like to think that Kolyat does not need Thane to be by his side holding his hand, he's an adult and hopefully is doing well and keeping in touch with Thane at that level, another rescue Kolyat mission would be a bit much imo.
Hopefully whatever Thane's doing is cure/treatment related.

The damn realist inside me always suspected that Thane wouldn't be a permanent squaddie in ME3.

But ladies, I suspect we may still have a mission or too with him, helping him 'do something relevant to his character.' And when Thane and his siha reunite, it will be full of kisses and ass grabbing I'm sure!

Also, I am still hopeful that after the amazing reunion, Thane will join Shepard on the Normandy as crew at least. I can't see him being anywhere else. Out of all the LI's, I would say that Thane is along the least likely to leave Shepard's side for any reason.

Where's it been confirmed that Thane is not a permanent squadmate, I keep reading pessimistic posts but I don't know what the source is.  Can you link or quote where it's from please Image IPB

Kahje? the Hanar homeworld where it always rains? I didn't expect this from you Fiery, I bet you also take Thane with you to Pragia!  :crying:

:P

I read somewhere that Bioware doen't want to give too much info, since they want to avoid spoilers after soooooo many people complaining about ME2.

I take that Thane getting cured or not, and specially how, is very spoilerific so it makes sense they aren't giving any info directly related to him. I have my doubts about him being a full-time squadie though, but it wouldn't make any sense if he was the only LI that wasn't.... I hope Bioware knows better than to enrage a bunch of fangirls

Also... where I can get one of those ass grabbing sig? Tasha, mnomaha? Pretty please with sugar on top? <3

@Wildanne...no, it hasn't been confirmed. Nothing about Thane is confirmed. There is nothing. The silence is deafening. Ok, maybe a bit dramatic on my part, but I want what I want.

Yeah, I could see Kolyat still in the Citadel doing some good community service or joined C-Sec and keeping contact with Thane. Sweet =)

I hope they mention Kolyat in ME3 to see how he is doing and how Thane and his relationship is going. Hope it is healing =)

thank's, good to know, I was thinking I was missing something.

I tend to think that Thane, and probably all the LIs will be squadmates (I think it would be a bit of a mis step if they weren't).

All the LIs plus James Sanders/Vega? makes 9, they could have one more new female character to make a total squad of ten.

Personally I don't think that any of the non LI characters will be squadmates, I'd be soooo pissed off if Grunt was in over Thane.

@Wildannie...I love Grunt. I do. He's my little krogan baby. But yeah, I will kill him if he's confirmed before/over Thane. Literally kill him.

I don't really like the sound of him " doing his own thing in the galaxy. "

Makes it sound like we'd recruit when the game is more than half over. I mean, if it means he'll be a full time suqad member after he's recruited, that'd be great. But that would kinda suck to go like 70% of the game without any signs of him.

It just makes it sound as if we'll have to track him down, is all.

And we might not get to track him down first, as with ME2.

I like Grunt too, but I will be more than a little angry if he gets in over Thane. I would like to think that hopefully all the LI's would be squadmates. I think that could work for everyone. It wouldn't be fair if some people get to have there LI with them through the entire if not most of the game , but the rest of us don't. I'm pretty sure Miranda will make it on your squad, and from the sound of it maybe Jack. That just leaves Jacob and Thane. It would make no sense to leave them off you team while everyone else is back with Shepard.

I know they could do it, but it still woun't make much sense. I can't even imagine the reason they would give.
It would make me so angry if they did do this.

*sigh* I suppose it would depend on who was giving the reasoning. Some Devs are way more polite than others. If they even gave a reason at all.

What is with the logging me off ****?

I'm sure they woud come up with some reason. All that work they did in creating him would be for nothing. What was all the work we did in the second game for?

I've been logged off about 3 or 4 times already.

Ummm.... there is a treatment, NOT A CURE. It is a lung transplant

But he refused to be put on the list.

See the shadow broker files on him.

Yes, there is a treatment, and no cure YET. I'd pit Mordin's brains against the Hanar's anyday and win.

We already know about the transplant. We've all read the dossier, and we know he refused to be put on the list.

We haven't forgotten that he refused to be put on the list. However his refusal was probably before he met Shepard and joined her team. It was also before he reconnected with his son. Things have changed for him now. We also don't know why.  Hoepfully he still wouldn't refuse to be put on the list. Maybe we will get the chance to talk to him about it.

That medical record appears in the dossiers as soon as he's recruited so I would say that's his first check-up on the Normandy and yes, things have probably changed for him since then if he's loyal/romanced.

There are many reasons as to why he may have refused. The fact that it's temporary and that it probably takes away another's chance to get a transplant is likely 2 good reasons.

As for Thane returning in ME3, I'm not worried. I know I was the one who organised the whole cure collaboration but the way I see it, I've done what I can do. I've helped make our opinions known. What BioWare chooses to do with that is ultimately up to them, but I have hope that they will do it right, whatever it is.

I don't mind grunt either but of the non LIs my favourite's Mordin...he's not welcome on the Normandy if Thane's not there either Image IPB .
It would be madness if Miranda & Jack were to return but not so Thane or Jacob, losing the two new femshep LIs from ME2 while manshep keeps them both, I don't see that happening.
Thane's much more popular than Jacob, and, I think, popular as a whole amongst the new ME2 characters.  The popularity of Garrus and Tali is rooted in ME1 so it's not fair to compare them with the newcomers.
Obviously the maleshep LIs are most popular because the majority of players being male.

One easy way to keep all the fans happy is to make sure their chosen LI can become a permanent squadmate.
One easy way to ****** a section of fans off is to leave their favourite LI in the sidelines, at the same time this is unlikely to improve the experience for the rest of the fans so there is little reason to do this.

While there could be many valid story reasons to leave characters on the sidelines there are just as many that can bring them into the fold, I hope that they take the latter route and write amazing storylines that don't alienate any of the fans.
