FemShep's song:
That is a beautiful song. I think Josh Groban needs to sing it.
Afterall, I think Josh Groban needs to do a love song for ME3. LOL Something for Thane and FemShep.... :innocent:
Josh Groban for the win! Saw him live in concert a few years ago - that guy could sing in Klingon, and it would still sound amazing.

I just played through it on my most recent run. Never noticed it before, always rushing in, as others have said. It IS hillarious! So glad I lurked by!
Heh. If anyone knows of any other interesting bits in other quests (or for other characters), please be sure to post it. I'm usually pretty thorough, but had I been a little less cautious on that playthrough, I completely would have missed that bit with the body.

Not much of one, but if you return to Shipping after completing his recruitment mission, you'll find that Seyrina (the asari who drives you to the Towers) left you a datapad where she says that she owes Thane a drink. Kind of reminded me of Giana Parasini and her 'I owe you a beer' moment

Let's see.
The email you get after Thane's recruitment mission from Jeirt the Salarian is a shout out to the real Jeirt who used to be a poster in the Thane threads on the old boards. She was around the BSN for a while, but sadly left a while ago.
On Garrus' recruitment mission, if you go up the stairs and to the left (into the bedroom) you can see the covered corpses of his squadmates.
The game orginally had no recruitment order, meaning you could recruit Thane right off the bat.
Thane on Korlus about that crazy Rana Thanoptis.

I will be seeing Josh Groban in concert in just over a month.
There are so many of his songs that I would use for a fanvid of Thane and Shepard but I settled on "You're the only place." I could list about a dozen others but, I won't. I must resist the temptation!

I just wanted to say I support this thread and really hope there is a way of saving Thane, I think he has the most beautiful and heartfelt romance in the game. And his letter from LotSB, had me all in tears. But the letter also left me with the unease that he will die in ME3, depending on how that plays out it might work and be good, but I want to keep him alive! My poor Shep will be heartbroken if he dies.

Slightly of topic, but my hubby got my attention on a poll, that kinda shocked me, so wondered if any people here vote on poll's. There is a "Who is your favorite Character from Mass Effect 1 & 2" and Tali seams to win as always but Thane only had 1 vote and Jacop was in 2'nd place XD - my first thought was "how did that happen??" and I couldn't leave poor Thane with 1 vote so gave my vote.
If anyone is interested: http://social.biowar...88/polls/20662/

Indigo - Oh you!
BlackEssence - I'm truly moved over you analysis of how Thane touched you. I've actually taken quite a lot of time to think about similar things myself, even though my thoughts don't stem from personal faith. It was nice to read someone working through their feelings like that.
Which is why I keep coming back to the delishious drellickers over and over again! Speaking of which, how's everyone doing?

I've quite enjoyed several BioWare game romances in the past, but Thane touched my the deepest by far.

I totally agree and lord knows, you called me out on what I am hiding! LOL! This is the PG "Good girl" version. Now, if this was a totally different board, I would have had to give the Rated M version of how Thane moved me as well. *Blush*

Honey, you seem like a sweet kid, and I'm probably (shudder) old enough to be your mother. So please see this post as genuine concern.
But Thane is fictional. He's a well-developed character, with a good back story, and a talented voice actor. Real life guys - the good ones - are sweet, and loving, and patient, and often forget to take out the garbage or pick up their smelly socks. And yeah, they hold your hands across the table in restaurants, which still makes your heart melt. Don't have your heart set on waiting alone to prepare yourself for some ideal that exists in a game; you'll miss out on real life.
I've been married a long time, almost two decades beyond the "honeymoon phase," and I wouldn't give up even five minutes with the Husband (even when he refuses to vacuum in his shorty shorts, damn him, and can't understand my undying love for the late actor Leslie Nielsen) for Thane.

That's a really sweet thing to say about your husband. I have to admit that it really warms my heart to hear people saying things like this during this age of divorce and family trauma. Makes me want to believe that my young marriage (together for ten years, but married for a year now) might survive this world.
Altough...
I might trade, oh I don't know, a moment or two with my hubby to a moment or two with Thane if that choice ever presented itself. I'm a bad person, no excuses. Thane just rubs my imagination the right way.

I loved how, like another said, Thane was so unsure in how he should display his new feelings, and was quite honest about never having been attracted to other species before, but at the same time not allowing that inexperience to make him closed-minded all at the same time. He MADE you be patient with him without you even knowing it. It was like waiting for a virgin (I am a virgin myself, by choice.) and having waited for him, when he finally showed you that he was ready...made the wait that much sweeter. Thane, having lost his wife in the worst case imaginable, his son, at the time, not wanting to have anything to do with him, with so much lose, Thane was able to come back with a love for me that I had never seen before in my life. Even in real life. That says a lot and I want someone JUST LIKE THATE in real life to do that same thing for me. Thane is the kind of man that you wait and prepare yourself to love just as he, without knowing, waited and prepared himself for you (Shepard.).
I let myself be kind of vulnerable. Sorry about that.
I don't think you have any reason to be embarrassed or ashamed, Black Essence. What you wrote was heart felt and honest. I respect you for writing what you did.
There are many layers to all the characters in ME, Thane is one those that have layer upon layer. Then, just when you think you have a good idea of who this character is, someone comes along and adds more.
To me, that is the best part about Thane as character. Everyone seeing something different and unique about him.
Thank you for sharing that. I know, I am, very glad that you did.

Sister Helen, I know you meant well, but I'm sorry. Your reply back to me didn't seem like you care. It really came across as the nice way of insulting me, only using nice words to my expense. If you really read what I was saying, you would see that it was all about how the Thane, THE CHARACTER, carried himself is what I want in a partner. It was all in describing his personality that attracted me and the reason I desire that in a partner is because for the most part, I carry myself and that in itself is not fictional. Not one bit.
When I spoke about Thane, many of the parts was me speaking about how I thought about myself. Not the lost part, but atoning for my actions. That is not fictional. I doubt that you are that much older than me. I, myself, am almost 25 years old. At the end of the day, your image of me may be whatever you want it to be because, let's be real, we don't know each other at all. But, just because the way I expressed myself makes you feel uncomfortable, it did NOT give you the right to shoot down my character like that. I highly doubt you would have wanted someone to do that to you and then and actually make fun of you by nitpicking at your intelligence. I take that to the HIGHEST offense.
But, I am going to do you, and only you, a favor just this once and completely remove my post all together. Because you statement alone just tainted and, dare I say, destoryed what is not an "idealistic" impression that a character, obviously, designed to my liking of a representation, ALONG WITH THE FLAWS of a partner, I would like for myself. But, you also spat on the very real life description of how I actually carry myself in person.
I don't need your concern. Its not genuine. It insults me. So, forget about the surprise. I'll keep that to myself.
@Gnas: I appreciate that. I really do and everything you said was right on the money and I agree. But, after that open and having someone just spit on it in front of you all is just enough to keep my thoughts to myself. I thought I could come here and speak to like-minded Thane-lovers, but that was my fault in thinking that. I take full responsibility for that. But, I won't make that same mistake twice.
