Does anyone know if Thane is confirmed as being in ME 3? This picture seems to imply that he will be.
I feel like a total noob, but I can't find the image. Have you shared it with Keythe Farley on FB? I think he would like it.

I'm thinking about a nice ending for FemSheps who have romanced Thane in ME2. Keep him alive throughout ME3, and when the war on Earth is ended, he rests in peace.
Thoughts?

Peace Shepard agrees with such ending.
In any case, there could be 2 options for Thane (that was romanced in ME2), one is being cured and second, well, not being cured. Actualy thinking about, there probably should be both ways possible. Just in case someone would want to be in romance with a sad ending. I guess such people do exist. But there most definetly should be ending where he is cured.

I've never had a problem with Thane dying. After ME3.
It always makes me a sad panda just how many people out there don't give a rat's patootie about anyone else's playthrough but their own. And this isn't directed at you Ferik, more at the general forums. Believe it or not, there are other ways to play the game than romancing X-person. I think that, no matter who you romanced, that matters (or should) and just because a character was seemingly unpopular doesn't mean they should be tossed out come ME3. Everyone should see the pay off for their choices. There should be a route to a 'happy' ending or at least a satisfying conclusion to the story for every player.
That said, I have no problem with Thane living either and find it believeable if he does. We're in the future, where medical advances are made all the time. We have holographic omni-tools with blades and ships that can travel from galaxy to galaxy in (almost) the blink of an eye. We've brought the dead back to life. I understand the concept of 'for all our technology we can't save one life', epic and tragic and all that. But it's been done a million times. How about using the enemies' technology to save a spieces? Sure, it's been done too - but alot less and it's in that wonderful gray area of morality.
Anyways, just my thoughts lately while reading the BSN and watching E3 coverage. Here's hoping we see something new about ME3 after Nintendo day yesterday!
Also, Thane!

I would be able to deal with that sure but I wouldn't be happy with it. I mean, they killed Shepard and brought him/her back from the dead. Why can't they cure a lung disease?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't have a problem with Thane dying or living, as long as the story is good. That's not to say "I don't care if he lives or dies," I just hope that however the ending of ME3, however it ends up going, is satisfying. Or at least I hope I can use a walkthrough to get the exact ending I want. Haha. On my second playthrough.

And I am a supporter of having a choice to use enemy technology to prolong Thane's life. It could even be a result of an unnatural practice, but it brings in the ethical spectrum, and allows the sihas to demonstrate how far they will go for Thane

I had no idea ME3 was going to take place 6-12 months after ME2. I am now suddenly worried about our favorite drell, and wondering more and more about that lung transplant...
So, question for you guys and gals: Forget all the talk about Thane dying between ME2 and ME3. What would your reaction be if Thane got treatment on his own between the two games? Would you rejoice, or be upset that such a large decision was made without you having a say in it?

Wouldn't bother me too much if it was dependent upon choices from ME2.
Thane's re connection with his son should give him the will to seek to prolong his life, I don't think Shepard would need to have any input (beyond what was seen in ME2), such a decision has to be Thane's choice.
I actually think it would be better if seeking treatment/cure is somewhat removed from Sheps direct influence and is wholly down to Thane.
edit: I will be pissed off if Thane dies no matter what choices have been made. I have many thanemancing sheps and I'm not a fan of sad endings, there's enough of that in real life.

While the relationship with Kolyat is still turbulent, I can see him getting treated both for his son, and for a loyal Shepard's sake, romance or no. The Reapers are coming, and Shep's going to need all the help s/he can get. Of course, that makes me wonder about a disloyal Thane, but he's unlikely to make it through the SM anyway.
And agreed. I don't think they'd kill him off and have it be permanent. Even with Virmire we got a choice--plus, imagine the fan rage!

I feel the same. Kinda feels like a decision he should make for himself, in my opinion. It's not Shep's place to decide what he does with his life... unless say he decides oh, to reap the galaxy, haha. Of course, Shepard's actions in ME2 will affect his position. From what I understand, he'd already chosen to not seek treatment prior to meeting Shep and reconnecting with his son... so, after working on his relationship with Kolyat and meeting his new Siha (or a good friend in non-romanced Shep), I can see him choosing to change his mind.wildannie wrote...

Yes, when I heard the 6-12 months info I was like: here I was afraid he might die in ME3, now he might be already dead or on deathbed by the time the game starts?!!!
At this point, I'm hoping for some sort of Hanar cure.

P.S. I thought they planned for ME3 to be set immediately after ME2 why do you think there'd be such a time gap?
