Hey!

The Thane group and the Ash/liara/kaidan groups are awesome! but i'm extremely biased on the latter one :D

So, if a Hanar can become a Specter, than obviously it wouldn't be unreasonable to have one as a squadmate in ME3. Thane would be amused.

IMO the whole reason why Thane was such a compelling character was because he was going to die. I think it needs to happen.

He was compelling because of the perspective it gave him, not just because he was going to die. That interesting perspective will remain even if he is cured.

As a :wub:Thane  convert after playing ME2, I endorse this message! You can't kill off such an intelligent, romantic and sensitive character! Well, I hope you can't - my FemShep would not appreciate losing her drell sweetie. :P

** I can appreciate a tragic outcome, but still, I'd be happier if he lived.

Thane was awesome! He had a really deep story and his personal mission was moving. I didn't pursue him as a L.I, but if I wasn't faithful to Kaiden and eying Garrus from across the room...I would be by Thane's side within a heartbeat!

I fully appreciate the facets impending death gave Thane -- it was a huge part of who he was and who he had become and who he had resigned himself to be -- but the most profound thing is that he actually grows past who he had resigned himself to be through his relationship (platonic or romantic) with Shepard. This is especially obvious if you romance him, but in short he realizes he still has many things to live for and now he has trouble letting them go. This frustrated doom is compounded by the fact that if his soul does not embrace the sea before its time, it can be lost forever. This is something he still has to deal with.

TBH while I would be ecstatic if we were given a cure point-blank I would still be happy if his recovery were only hinted at or at least given some measure of hope. Perhaps we can hear how the Illuminated Primacy has made a breakthrough with Kerpal's Syndrome, or at least a cameo in ME3 showing Thane alive with only a brief reference to how that could be. I don't know. I'm not asking for a hanar hallelujah chorus descending from the sky in an aura of light to perch a dove on his head or anything.

I won't lie and say I'm not being selfish. I am. I adore Thane and he was an eerily perfect match for my MainShep, Selah, and I would love to continue that in some way. His fate is left open at the end of ME2 if you kept him alive. He's not the type to wander off when things get rough and he pledged himself to Shepard ("my arm is your arm, my gun is your gun.") Arbitrarily offing him without giving us a way to explore this devotion and come to some sort of closure would feel cheap. He deserves to see the Reaper threat through to the end; what better way to know that he finally brought some light into the world?

Besides, my Shep and he were planning a desert vacation. Maybe they'll take Kolyat. Shep can shoot a lamp by his head again for the lulz.

Thane carries a lot of burdens and I found it pretty interesting seeing his instant detailed descriptions of a certain time in his history. He's a really good friend. I believe in the Hanar!

/sign Thane was easily one of the more interesting characters in ME2. I was hoping Mordin was gonna help me out when my FemShep was chatting Thane up but to no avail.

I don't get why you couldn't ask Mordin to cure Thane. Thane probably doesn't want a cure, as he's ready to move on, but Mordin could always sneak up on him with his STG skillz and stick him with it. If anyone could cure him, Mordin could!

He's ready to move on, until he falls in love... then it's heartwrenching.

Thane is a very interesting character. Although his impending death actually adds to his intregue.

I think they can actually work around it. Although there is no cure for Kepral's Syndrome including lung implants etc that can increase Thane's lifespan to include him in ME3, then what happens to him after can be up to the minds of the player. I say leave his fate ambiguous.

I do however, support having him be a main character in ME3.

Imo, his character can stand alone from his illness.  I don't see his illness adding to his character.  Though, for those that do, simply having the choice to save him or not could easily make us all happy.

All we really want is a choice to save him.

Unless ME3 takes place the day after the events from ME2 then Thane has to die.

I'm not saying that he shouldn't be present in ME3, but I would be totally disappointed if Thane is granted a miracle cure. IMHO hat would totally wreck the character.

Thane is one BAMF. Hands down my favorite new member, inspite of never bringing him with me, out chats were always, interesting to say the least.

Again, why would it hurt to give us the option to save him?  If you don't want to save him, you don't have to.  ^_^

I don't see how it would wreck his character. He'll still have been affected by his illness mentally and emotionally and would continue to be the Thane we know and love, simply now with the time he needs to really do a lot of good for the galaxy.

It's not an easy way to go around this. Half of us wants him cured. The other half doesn't. Gonna be hard for Bioware to go around this, but again, that's what choices are for!

Those who want can cure/save him, those who doesn't, can have him killed. Everyone's happy! >.>

Thane pretty much says that he has less than a year to live....and it seems to me that there might be a gap between ME2 and ME3 just like there's one between ME1 and ME2. So months will pass....and I wouldn't mind if his death/funeral takes place during ME3, because that should be more interesting storywise than him doing the same thing as in ME2.

Personally I do think that quite a few squad members from ME2 won't return in ME3, well, at least they won't be able to be part of Shepard's party...

We know almost nothing about ME3. The gap could be only a couple of weeks or even less for all we know.

And I still don't see how his character would be negatively influenced by a cure. A death/funeral would be emotional, no doubt, but it isn't instantly superior or more interesting compared to what they could do with him should he survive and be cured.
