It was back on the old forums when people were discussing that maybe Garrus had a crush on FemShep since the first game and was jealous of all of the attention Thane was getting before ME2 came out. I think this was before Garrus was announced as romanceable.
He photoshopped some pictures and it just grew in popularity from then.

Haha that does make sense. My Shep and Garrus are buddies but I can't deny he seemed allured by her. Can't say I blame him though.

It's when you're talking to Mouse. You need to not do the Charm or Intimidate options; it's just the regular white text renegade one I think.
Or wait...maybe it's NOT doing the renegade interrupt and just doing the intimidate?

I just jumped on the Thanemance wagon... I usually liked chatting to him but never came onto him because I enjoy more emotional characters. And then I saw his final romance scene on Youtube and it just won me over how distraught he is. "I've worked so hard... meditated, and prayed, and done good deeds." Shot for the head, as it was.

Is there any way to initiate his romance without telling him "I want you, Thane" right after he tells you about his dead wife, though? That's the only entry point I've noticed, and I really don't want to use that if I have the opportunity >_>

Unfortunately I don't think so. It is rather bad timing, but hey, his romance is still one of my favorites from ME2.

No there isn't, but it doesn't bother me because Shepard never says I want you Thane. She says something totally different.

Thane is number one for me, Garrus is distant second.
