I don't know if they had a secondary agenda. It does make you wonder though.

Thane explains that the Hanar rescued them, but how did they know that they were in trouble. Had they been watching them for a while. I don't think they were just passing by and saw a planet in trouble. Then decided to help.

I wonder if Thane has ever been to Rakhana himself.

I take the Hanar were looking for resources or planets they could colonize when they ran into Rakhana. But... doesn't the Council forbid interactions with species without spacefaring technology? I know this can be considered an exception, but it really makes me wonder how things really went...

You make a very good point.  I wish we knew what happened, but the game never goes into that much detail.

The Thane snippet is around the 6 min mark, so if anyone says that Thane won't be in ME3, or that he will die beforehand, then they can be shown this

 

This is good news, but it isn't telling us much. I never really doubted that Thane would be in the game  I just don't know how much of the game he will be in. He says if he's alive in your playthrough you will see him, but for how long. One mission and then we don't see him again. Are we going to be able to save him. I wish they would give us just a little bit more.

I just finished reading through the entirety of this thread. All 507 pages, after I made my post... took two weeks plus a few days, but I did it, and enjoyed every page.

My desktop is covered in fanfic links, fanart and quotes from all the amazing people who have talked about teh best LI evarrrr, THANE over the past year.

Haha, just finished my first playthrough romancing Garrus and I had Miranda creating a biotic barrier, (which is apparently a bad idea.) The swarm carried away Thane, and I had to shut my game off. *pout* Also not good for my Femshep is that as he was being carried away my Femshep was very "Noooooo! Take Miranda, or Garrus!" Which probably didn't help the squishy loving feelings between her and my fave Turian.

*sigh* I can't help it that I like Thane best and therefore my Sheps like him best too, working up the courage to restart the mission and keep Miranada away from my Thane... bloody murderer.

I had Thane get carried away during a play through. It was extremely upsetting. I deleted that one.

I would never let Thane be killed on any playthrough!

I have a playthrough in which only Thane, Garrus and Shepard survived the Suicide mission though. Poor Garrus had to hold the line all by himself while Thane and (unloyal)Miranda accompanied my Shepard to fight the Human Reaper. Miranda died during the fall from the platforms so Thane and Shepard made a run for the shuttle. Garrus succeeded in holding the line solo. It was awesome.
