Giftfish, you are awesome.  Coldi, the writeup hit the nail on the head.  And that is all I have to say on the matter of Miranda, Shepard, and weiners :kissing:

@Sable I read and saw your Miranda pics on Cosmic Love,Awesome...I like your Jamie Shepard,he is cute...care to share his face code? :D

Credit where it's due, actually.  The face is Scott Shepard from the ME2Faces site with one or two very small tweaks to coloration and hair.  Code for the original face is 541.ISJ.J81.131.MGL.58L.SHF.6CL.3B1.1T5.E55.5.

Word of warning: he looks a lot better Renegade, scars and all.  Without the scars, he looks IMO a little too young.

I only wish that full Renegade kept some of his original eye color.  I gave him brown eyes, and that juxtaposed with the glowing red spots looked really cool. I think when you get to a certain amount of Renegade, no matter how much Paragon you have, you get the undead Terminator look.

On an unrelated note, replaying DA2 with a brand new Hawke.  Maker's breath, Anders, you're a f***ing psycho.

Just for myself, I don't have a problem imagining drell with bellybuttons. Even animals that "hatch", still take nourishment from the yolk sac (as some reptilian and avian critters do), so I don't take issue with a drell embryo connecting to the mother for sustenance. So, I'm good with the bellybutton....plus I think it would be cute on Thane. Ya, I'm a dork. ;P

XD

Well, it's not so much because reptilians can't form yolc sack/placentas* (and to some extent umblical cord) but rather, because of how mammal/reptilian skin work, and the differences on how human skin scar vs how reptilian skin scar.

I'm not throwing away the possibility completely, but I'm personally having a hard time finding a (for me) rational explaination that makes sense to me.

I guess I'm also reading too much into that bachelor party with the asari on Illium;

Human: "There, see that part right there?"
Salarian: "That little dib in her abdomen?"
Human:"That's a bellybutton. Only humans and asari have them. And you are going to be doing shots out of it later tonight".
Turian: "That can't be sanitary."
Human: "Not the point man!"

Again, I'm probably reading too much into it (a bad habit of mine). :/

I mean, the artist in me is saying "bellybuttons=cute" and "Thane + bellybutton = sexy", but the knowledge craving nut in me is  saying "But you can't add something designwise in anatomy just because. There's gotta be a reason for it". Oh crud. I hate it when I dig holes like this for myself.

I think I'll settle for a middle ground (for the sake of my own sanity if nothing else):

Drell have bellybuttons but, they are not as pronounced as human/asari ones. In addition, it's not unusual for the area around the bellybutton to be slightly paler than the rest of the skin.

(Which ties in somewhat with the way reptile skin scar. So there. I made up something reasonable. For me atleast. Heh)

*/ Note: There is only one known extant example of lizard species with vivipary analogous to that of mammals : Trachylepis Invensi. Random trivial fact.

@giftfish

Ha! I admit it gave me a chuckle!

@Sable

Heh, that is quite a handsome Shep I'll admit ;)

Which reminds of what I'm working on atm, a render of all my 7 Fem-Sheps ready for battle!
I just wanted to tribute each of those lovely ladies! Even though Ivy is the "apple of my eye", I do like them all. And I couldn't resist the temptation of a render with all of them!

(But ugh, why is it so damn difficult to recreate a Combat drone and the Tech armour?)
(Psst, I will definetly make a Thane & Wrex render kicking ass too)

So for now, I will return to my meditations renders in 3ds Max.

@Emerald - Hey nothing wrong with being a stickler for design based on science. :) I do remember that convo from the bachelor party. Not sure I take those guys as terribly schooled in all things in the universe....though I am sure they are perfectly decent young men....watching an Asari shake her "thang"...HA! :D :D Just kidding.
;)
As for the reptilian biology, I really like your idea. A small bump or mar that is lighter in color on his midsection. That really does work! ;) Now go draw us a pic of a shirtless (pantless?? *nudge/wink*) Thane with a cute little lighter colored belly "spot". *bigcheekywideshyteeatinggrin!!*

@Roxy - Mmmmmmm......nice pic! <3

@Sable - Glad you liked the little bio! Thanks again for letting us use your pics. The worked out great. :)

Okay, someone seriously needs to draw a pic of Shepard pouring a bottle of vodka on Thane and licking the liquid of his rock hard.... abs. Or not his abs. Either is good. :devil:

An outie though.... not too sure about that. Personally, no. But the "bellyspot" I'm okay with. :wub:

Okay Beanie. I feel better now. I was starting to think no one did miss me. It made me sad.

I'll get those screenies off to you asap too.

Oh, and Coldie? I read your article. Bloody spot on, mate. Great job! :wizard: (<-This is now the high-five emoticon. The myth has spoken).

Hmm it looks like her shirt, or rather, the top part of the "Scientist/Medic" outfit.

Re: Bellybutton

I'd say "innie", just not so "deep", and no "folding" of the skin.
(Gah, hope I'm making sense, describing bellybuttons in English is difficult XD)

Oh, and guess what happened in mums PT?
We completed Thane's LM! And the aftermath of it...

She got surprised at the fact of Thane having a family:

Her. Whoah?! He's got a son? Oh..that was unexpected...Wha? His wife died? :'(

Me:Yes. Irikah died ten years ago.

Her: No wonder he withdrew from the world...That memory of her funeral...He can recall that perfectly..."The hardest memories to escape are those of sadness and despair" He certainly wasn't lying.

*After talking to Mouse*

Her: We really need to find that Kelham guy! I'ts sad that Thane was estranged from Kolyat...I hope we find him before it's too late!

*We reach Kolyat and stop him with the Paragon Interrupt, Thane speaks with Kolyat*

Her: Oh my...Irikah, was murdered? No wonder Thane considers himself guilty...And poor Kolyat, losing his mother and thinking that Thane abandoned him. Sheesh, that kid needs a break! And, so does Thane! Bailey was nice though, he helped from the get-go.

*We meet up with Bailey in the aftermath*

Her: Huzzah! Bailey helped Kolyat! Yay! I hope Thane get's to reconnect with Kolyat; Both of them has had it rough. I...also hope their time won't get cut short...Mordin, we need that treatment for Kepral Syndrome!

(I really can't show her ME3. I just can't...No.)

*We return to the Normandy and talk to Thane*

Her: So, Batarians killed Irikah? And the Shadow Broker be damned! Wha? He feels guilty for killing his wife's murderers? He carries many burdens upon his shoulders...

*The dialogue wheel shows "Just focus on your son" and "I want you Thane"*

Her: Wait, wut? "I want you Thane." What kind of choice is that? O.o

Me: Well uhm...it sounds a bit odd I know, but sometimes the dialogue wheel doesn't reflect the real line that Shepard will say, just the "gist of it" so to speak.

Her: Oh...Hm..."I want you" it is then!

Me: Very well!

*Thane says "Siha. Someday I will tell you what it means"*

Her: Aww...we won't find out what "Siha" means yet will we? We're left hanging over here! You are a devious charmer Mr Krios!

Me: Yep, cliffhanger of the day! We will see what the future brings ;)

(I can't wait to show her the explaination of "Siha"! I'm bubbling with anticipation! :D Oh, And we will do Garrus or Kasumi's mission next)

re: ME3

Tables will be flipped. I can already tell.
(Not just because of Thane, Mordin is a favorite of hers too)

I know for sure that she won't let the; "We didn't let him live because that would be "cheap" and "trivial"" argument slide.

I think she'll be very angry at that reasoning tbh.

Considering her own background, her struggles with her disability, and that some of her friends struggle with chronic conditions, I don't see her letting a thing like that slide.

She's also no fan of fictional characters dying for "drama".
Unless it's a "whodunnit" story, but that's a whole nother story. (Oh, that was punny)

(I'm not sure if we will play ME3 or, if I'll tell her the story instead, I'll let her decide. Obviously we will finish ME2 before we play / I tell her)

You know @Em I was wondering if you were going to import your Mom's character into me3. I say there is no real need to, but you and her can be the judge of that. Making up a satisfying ending for everything after ME2 is just fine in my book! :)

I am probably going to play me3 all the way through now. I can't keep writing in regards to it , if I don't actually finish the game. BUT! I will not be taking an import. I will stick with my Kane Shep (who I started in me3 at the same time as my Cate Shepard import). So not looking forward to it, and I may have to do a "from scratch" fem!shep for me3, so I can get both perspectives. Jebus! I haven't put the disk in my xbox since March 7th.....no shyte!

For now though, I just imported Chase Shepard (she looked great on import. YAY!) into ME2, having finished her ME1 run earlier this evening. I have missed playing an Infiltrator in ME2, so yippee! :)
(oh, and she will NOT be imported into me3....for at this time, no import will go into me3. bah! Still not sure I can even play that game.....)

Yeah, I know what you mean. We will finish the entirety of ME2 and then we will see.
She already knows that I don't like ME3, but I haven't gotten in-depth about why.

And Infiltrators rule!

The answer to any resistance: Tactical Cloak. Headshot. Rinse, repeat. Use Incinerate for variety. Unless, you're up against a shielded enemy, in that case, SMG, Disruptor Ammo; Synthetics go down!

And the bonus of having Thane with you against enemy biotics: Warp, and tadaa; Barriers go down! Finish off with Shredder Ammo and have Shep Incinerate/Headshot. And the enemy have gone to Kalahira!

*Overly dramatic hug returned* Yay! Thank you coldi! But i don't think you want to shake and stir Thane. He'd get dizzy. :P

Emerald I've been wondering what your Mum thought about Thane's LM the whole time I was away. Now I know. I'm so glad she chose the "I want you" option. :) I can't wait to hear if she chooses him, and what she thinks of his romance scene if she does.

You're making me wish that I could do this with my mum, but I don't think she will be up for it. She turned down Bejewelled because it was too complicated for her. I just think she's gotten used to her old stuff and isn't interested in anything new. Which makes me sad because I would LOVE to properly introduce her to our assassin. And Zevran, though I think she would like Alistair more... I don't think she'd like Anders or Fenris, Anders would scare the **** out of her and tbh he does me too, but maybe she'd like Varrik.

I hate infiltrator's though. I made Laura Mae an Infiltrator, and boy, the number of times I died..... oh dear.

That may have had something to do with playing on Insanity though.

But holy crap. Playing as a Sentinel in ME1 is TORTURE!!! I got so used to being able to switch to an SMG or a sniper rifle in ME2 (at the end) that just playing with a pistol is so much crap! And I got the Reave too so since I didn't have a cloak I would: Reave, wait for them to start contorting, head shot when they pop up. Worked every time. Not so much in ME3 which SUCKS but yeah. I also did the: Pause, Zoom in, Aim, quickly unpause and shoot while still zoomed in trick for the ps3. Noticed they got rid of that for ME3 too. Booooo, bioware, booo!

Ever since I recruited Thane for that pt my party was always Thane and Jack, or Thane and Garrus, even though Laura is a humans-first xenophone. She would have loved to bang a certain bastard and TIM.

In ME3 I'd always take a full team of biotics for reapers, and a full team of techs for cerbers. Two rounds of warps and SMG for banshees, two rounds of overloads and sniper shot for nemises and phantoms. Their bodies were dust.

@Emeraldfern I feel for your mom -- Thane and Mordin were my favourites, too. :( Both of them dying so early in the game ruined ME3 for me and gave me a terrible feeling of helplessness; there was no choice when it mattered the most. My Shepard eventually beacame suicidal and chose synthesis ending just to reunite with Thane and Mordin "across the sea", or wherever that might be. (I can forgive Mordin's death, though, cause it was handled pretty well and is not unavoidable. I actually started a second playthrough in ME2 & 3 just to save Mordin -- well, and to see Garrus' romance. :P) But yeah, I'd say don't let your mom play ME3, at least not with imported Thane romance. It's pretty hard to enjoy the game after your LI dies and no one cares and everybody start hitting on your Shep right after. Oh, and that Kaidan/Shep/Thane "love triangle" was just horrible to watch! >.<' No Thanemancer should ever get to experience that, and I wish someone had warned me about it so I could've virmired Kaidan or at least not to romance him.
Ahem, sorry. It's your mom's choice of course! :lol:

@myth

Heh, prior to my mum's PT, I had actually never played with a different class than Solider in ME1; I only had one import on lvl 60, Ivy, and she used to be a Solider before I changed her to Infiltrator in ME2.

Now during the ME1 PT with mum, I thought playing with an Infiltrator in ME1 was torture;

Where is my Tactical cloak? What is up with aiming Sniper Rifles in this game?

But I get what you are saying about Insanity, played it twice; With an Infiltrator and a Vanguard.

You die countless times; Upgrades, Powers, Squad-setup, Weapons loadout, Conservative use of Medi-gel & Ammo, etc, are much more important to consider.

And I bloody hated the Praetorians when playing as an Infiltrator & Vanguard on Insanity.

The usual Tactics for either class doesn't work against them; Since your Squadmates die more often than not against Praetorians, it's up to Shepard to deal with them.

As an Infiltrator, you are left with an SMG making very little damage, whittling down its barrier, then you follow up with a cloaked Sniper Rifle shot. Luckily, the Tactical Cloak saves your butt when you need to find new cover, which is mandatory against Praetorians.

Or, if you're a Vanguard*, you're running around like an idiot, killing Praetorians with mosquito bites.
The Vanguard Charge is useless in that scenario, and only lets the damn Praetorian do more damage to you as you exit the charge.  Worse, stand too close when it recharges it's barrier and *Bam!* insta-death.

Once I'm done with mum's PT I'm probably going to re-play my Solider on Insanity.
Plus, I gotta refresh my memory on Jacob's romance content in ME2.
Writing an entry for a certain blog  will be difficult otherwise. ;)

*/Note: I'm going to be honest and say that I've never been good
with the Vanguard's tactics. The Infiltrator/Solider is easier for me. Espicially Infiltrator.
I never got far enough on my Sentinel to have a real opinion on that class' Tactics so idk.
And I've yet to play with an Engineer or an Adept so, no comment yet.

@DragonSlayer63

Yep.
That was pretty much what I felt while playing ME3. (I love Mordin too so Tuchanka was...:crying:)
But I never finished ME3 personally, I quit when Thane died.

My brother had an on-going PT with his Mirimancer after I quit so I got to see the rest of ME3 and the ending.
And I was unimpressed with anything post-Horizon. And the RGB  ending...
Well, that's been gone over so many times by now that I don't feel digging that topic up again.

But ditto on the Kaidan-Thane love triangle; It stunk. :pinched:

Especially the way Shepard acts stinks.

I loathe that "Physically far apart" line. It's just...ugh. I really dislike that you had to be Renegade towards Kaidan to dump him. And even then the lines really doesn't fit that Shep. Ugh.

And don't get me started on how Shepard "shamefully admits" to Thane she used to date Kaidan. That was a serious WTF moment for me. Just why aer you ashamed? What's this I don't even...

Though not as serious WTF as Thane goimg "Ok. dying. Dying. Hey, I'm dying *awkward makeout* K'ay thanx bai!".
Ugh. That convo makes me wanna hurl everytime I see it.:sick:

Look at all you clever people playing on such high difficulty. I stick with casual/normal (normal until something hard, then casual...cuz). Actually my main reason is, I hate dying. LOL I really do; the reload screens, the trying to figure out wut da hell I did wrong, and then if I figure it out and it has something to do with my setup - I'm screwed. Unless I go to an earlier save to change something/someone...bah! More loading screens!!!) XD

As for the Praetorian even on the easier settings, I hate this guy, but I do love me my Collector Beam. So, I normally "tell" Thane and Jack/Samara where to go for cover, pull out my particle beam, and use it plus Incinerate (I usually play Engineer and/or Infiltrator) and Thane's Warp. Rince repeat. Use Throw/Pull from support team on the few husks/collectors that come into the room, and just burn the big guy to death. heh! I love Incinerate....it's my "I Win" button. :D :D

BTW @Em, looking forward to your Jacob piece. ;)

I really am unsure whether or not I can put that game back in the xbox. Of course, it will be much easier with a non-import, but still.......meh. Not gonna think about it right now. :P
