Oh hi girls and guys!

So instead of fixing the me3 romance they just shut down the forum where we could vent about it ?

Meh.. it is fitting though.. last good game of the series was me2, so might as well meet here :P

I played Soldier ONCE and never went there again. I like biotics, I like biotic combos and I like freezing my enemies and then having Thane throw them. The shattering of enemies into a zillion icy bits. The good times. Which are very few in ME3. And I played it again as Jackhole Shep, the biggest douche in the galaxy. He romanced Ashley, then Jack. Everyone died in ME2, well except Thane and Mordin but that wasn't good enough for him..I gibbed their deaths before I loaded the game.

The game was less painful because I really did not care. I had no ME2 squadmates to miss. Imagine running the game with your only choices being Javik, EDI, Liara, and James. But the Death Wall, it was glorious! All but one spot was filled..until the end when I picked Destroy EDI's got put up there. Jackhole...sided with the Geth (Quarians die) and then picks Destroy so that the Geth die. Meh, he also cured the genophage with Wreav in charge. He did not leave the galaxy better than he found it. I bet Wreav goes after the Turians and Salarians. By the time all is said and done I bet there will be very few races left. Jackhole also screwed up the Hanar mission, he saved the Spectre so the virus got uploaded and I believe that left the hanar and drell open to reaper attack. They are probably all dead too.

The only thing that irked me during this playthrough was when Liara asked Jackhole how he was doing after one nightmare and he said, "I miss Jack." WTF...My FemShep never said "I miss Thane." I wonder if she would...if Thane were dead before ME3? I doubt it and right now I'm not interested in playing as FemShep.

If I recall correctly, that dialogue took place right after Mordin had died. My FemShep said to Liara, "I miss Ashley." Wtf. Why would she bring that up when her dear friend Mordin had just died and she even had a dream about him? Yeah, that was a totally random moment. Now I kind of want to kill romanced Thane in ME2 to see if femShep will say she misses him... that would be more mourning than what we get if Thane dies in ME3. :P But if Thane is dead I'll be forced to kill Kaidan/Ashley because you can't have Kirrahe alive in PS3... ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) Argh.

Oh hey! I found everyone again. I missed you guys even if I don't post much. I

@Emerald, I'm so glad I was able to hear about your mom's PT. Yay for her picking Thane, at least potentially. She sounds cool.

I can't believe BW is keeping the forum closed so long. At this point I think they might just keep it permanently closed, but why can't they at least post an update about what's going on? So many people were posting there that it seems incredibly rude to close it with no further explanation.

I'm trying to do another PT on DAO, but I picked a rogue type so I could try the Zevron romance, and I suck at rogue tactics. Keep dying which puts a damper on my enthusiasm. I never have been a great player of shooter type games, preferring normal or casual difficulty. I'm also working on my fan fiction where I rewrite ME3 since I had so many conceptual problems with it (beyond Thane's death).

Oh, so it's here everyone went? :P

Shutting down the forums came as a big surprise to me, I suppose that's one way of avoiding the complaints. Sorry, in a rather bitter mood today and replaying ME2 and seeing how Thane SHOULD act, is making it worse. :D

Good to see everyone again though, even if I don't post that often.

Good to see some old faces returning. :)

@Utaker - your Jackhole Shep sounds hot.....number? :D

@Askeebe - If you need any thoughts/tips on a rogue for DAO, let me know.....I LOVE rogue, and out of a dozen play throughs, only four of my Wardens are not rogues. ;)

So I imported Chase Shepard into ME2, and I tried everything I could think of to get Horizon to trigger BEFORE completing the first four dossiers (not including Kasumi and Zaeed, whom I also picked up). It was a no go. I think those that had Horizon trigger (on the xbox version) were either experiencing a glitch, or it USED to be possible, but some patch changed it. I don't know....bah. This was my second attempt to try and trigger Horizon before either completing Jack's RM or Grunt/Okeer's mission. :P

Let's be cheerful today Ladies....all this killing everybody in ME is depressing me...although I can understand where you all are coming from! When I finish ME 2 I just head canon it from there.....I've gotten to the point where I can't play ME 3 it's to depressing I played it that couple of times to take pics and videos of it! It's gotten to the point whrere I don't care about the ending as long as my shep takes that breath I think she/he is alive...I just want BioWare to give us an option to Save Thane!

Anyhow I'm trying to cheer you all up and it's probably not working lol...sorry! but I'm gonna give you all a group hug! *hugs*

I was running Jamie Shepard through ME2 since he's been much neglected.  Got to ME3 and thought "Hell, I'll reinstall ME3 once there's an ME3EM version that's stable and skips the Catalyst."  I really like ME3's main quests up to the conclusion of Rannoch, but after that, it is so incredibly asstastic that it's almost painful to play.

So I went and replayed Dragon Age instead   Snarky Hawke is a pretty good humor-based remedy for all the unhappy feelings from ME3.

You know what's weird...I started Jack Shepard from ME2 imported him to ME3..he kept everyone alive,Thane and Garrus was his best pals,he romanced Ashley, when I got to the end with him and picked Destroy..after it was finished it felt complete with Jack...with the male shepard... when I did so with female shepard...it didn't because the female shep get's screwed over so many times in this game it's not even funny! *facepalm* ....sorry...a little rant there...

Anyhow I'm curious is DA a good game? I don't know if I could play another BW game..but I've read how you all like it...just curious..is it worth playing, what type of game is it? I know I can google it but I'd like to hear from you guys! :)

I've been busying myself the past few days playing Dishonored and Sims 3! :D

I've been seriously craving a DA:O dose this last week, but I'm about halfway through my Thief, Nord Stormcloak Dragonborn playthrough, and I've still got to cure her of her vampirism, because she is so depressed she'd probably be suicidal IRL. (I feel so bad for saving after a vampire den and then forgetting where I had just been after I reloaded..... Oops). I've been missing my Antivan, almost as much as I'm missing my Drell...... I even named my new wireless network SereKrios!

@Roxy: GROUP HUG!!!!! *HUGGLES*

Yup. Dragon Age (Origins) is a great game. It's back from the pre-EA Bioware days, when they actually cared about us. Which is evident by the fact that both men and women have equal number of love interests, even if they do share Leliana and Zevran. But Zevran prefers women. He says so, so it's okay. But yeah, Zevran.

DA2, not so much. I still enjoyed it as a stand alone game in the universe, but they aren't done like the ME games are. New story lines and new protagonists, just in the same universe, to the continuity isn't so jarring when something goes wrong. The only real issue is the recurring dungeons and the design. You'll see it when you look at Zevran in Origins, and Zevran in 2. Oh, wait, let me see if I can find a screenie.....

Nope not yet. Will be back with a screenie if someone doesn't do it before me.

I was trying to put Margurite through ME1, but truth be told once I installed Skyrim I lost interest in it. It's SO much easier to mod the ever loving **** out of it..... especially since Renmiri made a certain mod.....

And... my own turn to post something. This thread hasn't seen this lovely pic yet....

The studio label might be the same, but the design team and ethos is entirely different.  It's not like The Hobbit will be bad because New Line Cinema also headed up the Friday the 13th remake

DA:O is a great game with a couple of significant gameplay flaws.  To put it bluntly, just mod the hell out of the combat, especially if you're not planning on playing a mage.  The crafting system is clunky, there's a lot of inventory management, and the unvoiced protagonist can be very jarring coming from ME.  It's a more old-school game--lots of numbers to dig through if you want to actually be able to tell what does precisely what.  On the other hand, it's got a brilliant cast of characters, four great romances, a solid main plot, engaging sideplots, and lots and lots of juicy dialogue and choices.  And a character customization system that's just stellar, with three races, three classes with hundreds of possible builds, and six playable (roughly two hour long) backgrounds to choose from.

DA2 is a somewhat unpolished attempt at storytelling innovation, but if you can look past its rushed state, there's a great game there too.  The gameplay's much faster and IMO better, though less tactical.  And while the game has some clear plot holes and narrative leaps, it also has my favorite companion cast in any BioWare game to date, if taken as a whole.  Hawke is fully (and very well) voiced, male and female both, with a much-improved dialogue tree building on the ME2 version.  Less character customization than DA:O, but more than Shepard ever got.  DA2 also contains some of the best emotional sucker punches I've ever had in a game (the good kind of tears as opposed to ME3's bad kind.)

Again, both games are available on PC (DA:O in an ultimate edition with all its expansions and DLC).  And PC gets modding, which works around many of the minor (and major) gameplay frustrations in both games.

Haha! Back thanks to the awesome power of GOOGLE IMAGES (cause I don't have anything saved. Bad, bad Sharlene! Bad!)

So, roxy, Zevran in DA:O

Ha! I only just noticed when I copied that that this pic came from the "Ridiculously Awesome" Zevran Thread! haha! :D

And now Zevran in DA2

So yeah, you see what I mean. Horrible, HORRIBLE, design. For the elves anyway. I actually quite liked the city design.

So... to keep it on topic. Another Thane picture. This one by mappeli. I can't wait to write the accompanying fic to this!

@Coldi...yeah Jackhole is real hot...heh heh..it's Sheploo. His name was Jerk Shepard in ME and ME2. I found Randee Giles Shepard and wondered how he would fare in ME2 and ME3. He was real fun. LOL...I tried to make him look like Spike..well, at least he acted like him. For anyone whoever watched BtVS, the Randee is a throwback to the episode Tabula Rasa.

I tried to play Skyrim and got 15 minutes into it and wasn't interested. I know, hard to believe but it was boring me and I just can't be bored in the first 15 minutes of anything if it stands a chance at keeping me playing. Same with Assassin's Creed everyone loved it, I hated it.

I like DA:O, it has gotten me through some bitter moments in life as it provides for lots of mods and choices. I can have any ending I want. Happy, sad, bittersweet.

Who mentioned the Friday the 13th remake? I loved it. But then again I would, I happen to love Jason Voorhees (not so much this particular one, I will always believe that Kane Hodder rules all Jasons). Plus it has Jared Padalecki in it (Supernatural anyone?). If New Line Cinema should be guilty of anything it should be that Nightmare on Elm Street remake....ugh...Robert Englund is Freddy Krueger and trying to give me someone else is just insulting to my love of slasher movies.

Hello all! So this is where everyone is hanging out...love that the forum is still closed. Hope they come up with a solution soon.

Anyway, when you see Zevran like that (the 2 images) yikes! I knew he was "ruined" but holy. And yes, I am a Fengirl for sure. That voice...and I really did like him better than Anders.
I couldn't tear myself away from Alistair either (again, his voice!). I always carted Zev around though just for the banter.

And back to our regularly scheduled drell....

Thanks to Savvid from dA....

*le sigh*

I just finished a complete ME1 playthrough and started on ME2. Such a world of difference. You could tell they still cared back then. Some of the dialogue in ME1 made me pause and go "what the **** happened to this?" The first *two* games are about dark energy and reapers. Not some hair brained catalyst character. Oh how the mighty have fallen. :(

@Utaker - SNAP! I knew who you were talking about the minute I read it (Randee Giles...."Randy??") It is one of my absolutely favorite episodes ("We all know what happens to kittens if you wait to long, eh Mr. Spike? They turn into cats. And nobody wants that!"). XD

@Cosmo - Yup, Fenlady here too. Though I do tend to go for Zev more than Ali, I still dig Alistair. I get a complete kick whenever I see Steve Valentine on TV. Even Rog recognizes his voice everytime...ha!
BTW, Beautiful Savvid art....I just love Savvid. <3

@mnomaha - I just did the same thing. There was only a couple of instances that reflected on man vs machine (a codex entry, the gaming AI on the Citadel, and one of the planets I scanned did have info on previous organic vs synthetic war. And of course, the Geth/Quarians). Problem is, they weren't interesting (subjective yes, but....), and they were nothing but a buzz in the background. Some of Saren's speechifying could also be used loosely as examples, but again not what many focused on. The mystery of the Reapers made it so much better, and I kept recalling back to Vigil and things it said. There were a number of directions they could have gone (and actually, I think ME2 helped keep those options open, by not hemming us in, for one or two possible outcomes). I still love these first two games though. Funny aside, I had just gotten finished talking to Gianna Parasini in ME2 (on Illium), right before I went to bed last night. One of the last things she says to you, is that her bosses were having her check into "Dark Energy" stuff. She prophetizes about what that might mean for the future. Just interesting that THAT is the last thing I heard before bed. *ponder*

@Roxy - Chin up lady! Love your Big Headed Thane! :D

Monday Musing should be up in a few. I will edit this post with the link as soon as it's ready. If you can spare a minute, it would be much appreciated. :)

No Buffy references before my coffee!!! I can't believe I missed that. :(

@Coldi...I just wished they hadn't done a complete 360 on the story line. Sure, it was about the Reapers, but it was about the Reapers and Dark Energy. not a ****ing ghost boy with tons of space magic and circular logic. It's just epically stupid.

Oooh...Buffy! Been awhile since I re-watched that series. Ah, good memories :)

And DA2 Zevran...The goggles! They do nothing! Sheesh I had forgotten how they mucked up his face. Ugh. If only there was a toolset for DA2 eh?

(And ME3 too)

And the Dark energy plot did make more sense, it was atleast a better explaination than:

ZOMG! Crucible!
ZOMG! Starkid!
ZOMG! Synthetics vs organics!
ZOMG! Reapers destroy organics to keep organics from building synthetics that destroy organics!
ZOMG! Crucible go RGB BOOM!

Lol, wut?

Hm. This is a short post I know, but I'm going to finish Kasumi and Garrus' LMs on mum's PT.
And, we will hear Thane's explaination of Siha! :3

So, off I go! ;)

I've never been a fan of Buffy the vampire slayer (don't stone me) although I did like the movie...does anybody remember that?...it surprised the heck out of me to see Pee wee Herman in it lol! ^^

Now I've heard that Anders is not very nice...am I wrong?

Well, that's what the ME3EM is for :)  And if you're interested, the alpha version of the ME3EM does restore the dark energy plot.

His entire character arc is covered in warning flags from here to the Moon, especially so if you're like me and decide to romance him in spite of the crazy.  He's an interesting mix of contradictions--gentle, compassionate healer and idealist meets fanatically pitiless and uncompromising revolutionary.  And even his writer described him as really bipolar, capable of going from kind to cruel on a dime.  IMO Anders is too complicated to pin down as "nice" or "mean": it depends a lot on your Hawke and his/her relationship with Anders.

He is certainly a polarizing character, in-game and out.  Your other companions tend to either love or hate Anders, and that seems to be true of players too.

@Roxy..oh man, I always died laughing at Pee Wee in that movie. Especially where he keeps going, "ooh awww owww" during his death scene. LMFAO!!!! Funniest death scene ever.

As for Anders, didn't romance him. He got friendzoned in Awakening. Perhaps had I not played it, I might have thought of him differently. Never romanced Merrill either, I couldn't. Being a Dalish Elf was always my favorite background and she annoyed me when I had to take her with me. "Let's make haste." Why yes, Merrill we would get to that cave much quicker if YOU would stop pestering me. Besides there is some severely unfinished business between one of my Wardens and Hawke/Merrill. The game where they killed all the elves. I NEED for my Warden to avenge the slaughter of her people.

The Catalyst...that is by far the dumbest thing they did to Mass Effect. It had everything to do with laziness and losing Drew as it's writer. http://www.strategyi...ffect-3-endings

I liked the movie too ("Does Elvis talk to you?  Do you see spots?".........."Got any gum?")  Kristy Swanson did a great job.  Funny thing is, Joss said that the director changed the course of the movie to be a giant parody, and that wasn't what he was going for.  Apparently, that was his motivation to start the Buffy series.  I still enjoy both though....and I love me some "Big Bad"!Posted Image
