The last romance scene with Thane (pre-suicide mission) was really touching. The first time I felt a great deal of sympathy for a fictional videogame character.
And he was crying too! Aw...
It's not often you see that level of emotional reaction. I think that scene was extremely well portrayed.

Thane has a terminal illness. It defines his entire character role in ME2. If he doesn't die it will be like Bioware taking a big smelly "Superman 64" on all of you Thane fans. So he should in fact die for your sake.
/thread
Excuse me, but I don't think that his illness defines his entire character, definetly not.
We all here already said 100trillion times, that we just ask for a choice to cure or not.
You think it ruins his character, well don't cure him, but please don't say that he should die for our sake, because a lot of people don't share your opinion. I just don't like it when others tell me what's good for me ...
btw Thane said: "the hanar have funded a genetic engineering program. They should be able to adept us."
He just doubts that he will see results of it, at this time.
So, what's wrong with exchanging their data with Mordin for example, it could fasten the research, or we just have to prolong his life (cryo/stase aso or whatever) until the Hanar are able to "cure/adept the Drell.
Nothing miraculously with it in the Mass Effect universe, but it's just my pov.

ME3 could be set a few weeks after ME2, for all we knew.

Dude, don’t tell us that Thane should die in ME3 for our sakes, I think we are all capable of deciding for OURSELVES what we would like to see happen in ME3 and for most of us that would be either curing Thane or prolonging his life somehow.
That’s fair enough if you think that, because just like everyone else I’m sure you too are capable of deciding for YOURSELF what YOU would like to see in ME3.
But don’t come in here and patronize the rest of us by TELLING us that it’s for our own good that Thane should die in ME3, you are quite welcome to your opinion, as are we, but I for one disagree with that opinion and I’m sure MANY others do as well.

"SOMG HOW DARE YOU MAKE SENSE"
Thane is dieing. They made this clear. They base his loyalty mission on it. The whole "I need to help my son before I die" cliche`. Soooo, it does in fact define his character role in the game, and no one likes a 180. Ask Jack. She will tell you exactly what you need to hear if you pull a 180 on her.
But anyway, the point stands as rational and well thought out based on the evidence provided to us by the game. If you have any other game evidence that might suggest otherwise I'd love to see it. But this nonsense about how you can "imagine" ways for Thane to live isn't really interesting. The biggest gripes about ME2 story all revolve around plot holes and things that don't seem to make any damn sense. Not killing Thane would require exceptional creativity (this thread might not be the best example...) or yet another plot hole or cliche` gimmick and for your sakes I hope it doesn't come to that yet again.

Then go to a thread that isn't designed to support the character.

Mostly just stupid people. But even then it's more because they "didn't get it" and are paranoid or delusional or both and automatically jump from stupid to offended just because someone might have possibely been making fun of them.
But by responding you have basically taken the "hey stupid" bait. Which identifies you as a troll and helps other see the patterns that will establish you being a troll in their mind as well.
Fan threads are extremely troll friendly for obvious reasons. Never ending arguments with no basis in fact to confuse the validity of their assertions that they are correct. Just the existance of these threads is troll food. Let alone that they are technically in the wrong forum and the whole "They made you a brand new forum just for characters yet you post here still like jackasses" issue. That is really just bonus material at this point however.
You see, trolls are like car salesmen, you can sell them on anything. Even if they are "really" good you can still get them to bite on damn near anything using their own techniques against them. It's like brainwashing yourself I guess. There are studies, they were long, I get bored... The point is anything that looks like bait will get snapped at by the trolls following any given thread. Which you and others did, obviously. The important bit of information isn't for you though so beyond that I'm sure your imagination will be more than happy to fill the blanks in for ya. It boils down to establishing patterns in behavior and considering the source rather than being forced to take everything with a grain of salt. It's complicated.

Really, thank you for bumping the thread again. After analyzing the spelling mistakes, grammar structure, emotional baggage content, and literary lack of content, your input has been sufficiently appreciated.
Now, to more important and lucid things: Does anyone know if there is new Fan Art somewhere? I haven't found anything in DA recently.

So cute. Yer like one of those wishing ones with the fluffy hair and the little bum with no crack. Really though responding at all to me just makes you look guilty. Why when I obviously helped the thread by "bumping" it, would you still jump on the chance to make a stupid comment? Because you aren't as think as you clever you are?Mahalat wrote...

Oh and thank you another shining example of my thesis and proof of concept.
Yeah just ignoring it won't work yer still just a statistic now.

I sometimes choose my escapism in the form of an aesthetically perfect, sensually dangerous and intriguingly deep Drell assassin, and take solace in the irrefutable fact that more talented and coherent individuals than I find this one construct appealing enough to make a concerted effort in altering his fate.

If Kepral's Syndrome is destroying their lungs, why don't we have Miranda help Thane? She was one of the lead researchers on the Lazarus Project, and they had to reconstruct almost all of Shepard's tissue. Maybe some cybernetics would augment his lungs temporarily so his lifespan would be extended until they find a cure.
She should still has access to some of the data, and along with Chakwas and Mordin's help, that could very well be plausible. Depending on your decisions, perhaps the team would have to infiltrate the Cerberus facility where you originally wake up. I would like that, plenty of action.

It should come at a price, of course. I like having my Shepard's integrity tested. But choices are grand things. If I wanted to run around playing games with hardcoded deaths, I'd be paying more attention to Square-Enix's newest offerings... but I'm not. There is a reason for this.
