IMO Tuchanka was a beautiful piece of storytelling and gameplay.  It's the most nuanced quest line in terms of importing decisions.  Even if ME3 as a whole was pretty patchwork, there is some really awesome stuff there that people put a lot of thought and work into, and it deserves to be acknowledged.

@Mnomaha Who is that if you don't mind me asking? Does that person live on the east coast of the U.S? I'm praying for those that are getting hit by the Hurricane!

Yes, I have one friend in Virginia and Tentura is in North Carolina. Or she was last I talked to her. She likes to travel a fair bit, usually to conventions. :)

@Sable...while I agree with you about Tuchanka...I also agree with Annie. After everything is said and done, it's hard to wish them well in any endeavor.

fair enoiugh, but I dislike ME3 enough to negate all that is good in there (which isn't very much IMO).  Although I would agree it is the best quest in the game, I also felt that in the rush to tie up the genophage loose end the resolution felt far too much like space magic.  That in contrast with BWs refusal to even engage with the conventional treatments (they introduced to the lore) that could have prolonged Thane's life is very jarring to me.  I can't particularly remember the playing of the level, it was a while ago but in general I did not enjoy the gameplay as much.  really hated the rolling around.  I also don't think putting alot of work and thought necessarily need translate into that level of acknowledgement, but the fact is that it was acknowledged... I don't think it deserved an award.

A genophage could be cured, but saving Thane's life wouldn't be realistic and he just had to die. Just like Jacob was always a cheater.

...Right.

Ugh

Not to mention the quarians and maleShep's relationship with Tali. I watched my brother romancing her in ME2 and all I could think was: "Why does everything come so easy to maleShepard?!" Having sex with Tali was supposed to be deadly dangerous to her but she's all like "LOL I've got a fever but it was totally worth it" and in ME3 her system has apparently adapted to Shepard..... I can't help but feel like maleShep has got to get his sexytimes no matter what while femShep is... screwed.

Thinking about it, it looks like they were going take femSpe's choices and negate them in ME3, leaving only Kaidan, Liara, and Sam the only choices. Because Garrus was going to be the fling, Thane would die, and Jacob would cheat. But Garrus' popularity caught them off guard.

BroShep would have been able to keep his, because he's male.

Still it would have been sexist as it already is.....I hate using that word but my GOD that is what this game is! Posted Image

I suppose we should be grateful that BW included Sam and Allers as choices. I mean in ME we only had Kaidan and Liara as choices. Of course ManShep has Kaidan, Liara, Steve, and Allers. So, ManShep has 2 straight choices. Us females get 1 straight choice and 3 lesbian choices. WTF.

I think it is a bit sexist because I know that MShep would have never had an LI die or cheat on him. He gets to keep every single one of his LI's.

Does Allers even really count as a LI choice? I saw her as nothing more than a one night stand. I doubt they try to expand on that. She doesn't seem to be anyones favorite.

All casual flirtations or "flings" were female as well. Let's see.....Sha'ira (the consort) in ME1, Shiala in ME2 (if alive and helping the colonists). And this is not a dig on Kelly fans (for those that fell for perky lil' redhead), but Kelly, Samara (should have been different) and Diane Allers in ME3. All of them female. Why no fine gents to flirt with, or have a fling with?

It was stated resently by Gamble (I think....memory is foggy...too much Nyquil) that this game has a rather large female fan base. I find it hard to believe it has taken them till now to realize that this game has a sizeable female player base. If that is the case, why would they not capitalize on that? I doubt they believe all their female fans are bi or lesbian, though some of them are. But considering how some of the F/F scenes are represented, I'm not sure they had the bi/lesbian community in mind. And what of straight female gamers. Does BW believe that the majority of female fans prefer tragic/angsty or with gut punching doses of reality (I'm lookin' at Jacob's cheating ways...), when it comes to their romance choices? I would guess not, since Garrus is one of the most popular romances. Maybe we should blame some of those YA books/movies/TV shows that are aimed towards the teen to twentysomething year olds. Whether these females really like these bits of entertainment, or the pickings are slim anyway, it hardly represents what all/most/many like or wish for.

They offered us a descent variety in ME2, and they should have stuck by it. Even ME1 with it's limited choices, still felt more balanced. Not every female will choose the same, just like not all males will (and one look at the variety of female LI's available to M!Shep proves the point). I am a married woman in my 40's. Even though I don't look at Shepard as "myself", I do fully admit to choosing Thane because he appeals to "me". Nothing wrong with putting some of your own tastes and preferences on to your avatar. Besides, it can help with immersion if you find yourself caring more for the LI you chose for your PC, than had you simply gone with who might have been better for story/character-wise. I have a few Sheps that worked just fine with Thane as their choice, but because of how I played them, they could have easily fit with other characters:

Evan Shepard - my only Shep to have the love triangle, would have also worked sticking with Kaidan.
Mace Shepard - was played with a lot of similarities to Garrus; he also would have been a good choice.
Cate Shepard - had some complimentary traits for Liara AND Jacob.
(Ulee and Chase from an RP standpoint, were perfect for Thane.....Chase would have been good with some fling action as well; she roles that way. heh!)

The point is, I still chose Thane because I find a connection to him. Me. And he still worked just fine for those PC's. No regrets.....so long as I don't play me3. :P

FemShep did get to flirt with James, but that's about it.

@JECW - Very true. So me3 had the first male version. And just because he isn't my taste, doesn't negate him as fulfilling that aspect. Thank you for reminding me. Of course, your flirtations with all but Shiala and Samara, can lead to a fling with the others. Unlike James, where it doesn't go beyond flirtation.

@Mnomaha Yep! I've been looking through all the footage and trying to figure out how I'm gonna do this. I've also been thinking if I can't get this video right...maybe record myself playing ME2 with commentary and uploading it on Yt...and ME 3 if I need to..whichI probably will. But I am going for the video right now. If it ever comes to me doing a playthough...fair warning I cuss like a pirate when shep dies lol....

I wouldn't say my issues with ME3 are significant enough to negate the parts that ARE good, but it's a bit like finding teeth-breaking rocks in a fancy cake.  It makes me pretty wary of the rest of the cake :?

I've never seen him around.  Coldi, have you?

My guess is he'd be at Dante's on West Burnside...apparently they have burlesque!
