@Beanie - Anytime, darlin'! :) Just an FYI, I have the whole dialogue (plus the LotSB Letter) from me3, and a dialogue analysis on my dA page. I'm also coldwetn0se on dA. Forewarning; the analysis was during a "ranty" period, so there are some fairly snarky remarks. I never really edited it, so...... :D

@Sable - I agree with Beanie about the lack of research that went into his small portion in me3. I love science, but only employ basic knowledge in the subject. Without "looking" for problems in Thane's content, it *smacked* me in the face with them...no need to go looking. I was literally in shock at what came out of Thane's pixelated mouth, AND Shepard's. And yes, it does go beyond the mere changing of his disease come me3. I think most writers (who were not the original creator of said content) realize that a certain level of research is necessary with established lore and characters. I know that I research for much of what I write (hell, even some of my rants have been researched...hehe), and I am not writing anything of import for sale or the sake of millions who follow said storyline(s).

I make no claim to know WHY his character and various arc's were not adhered to, come the third game. Whatever the reason was, it really was a dropped ball. I will not make disparaging remarks about the writer's overall ability, since we don't know what the reasons were for such sloppy mistakes. Time, money, lack of interns, drawing of the "short straw", whatever it was, Thane's part was just one of many that I couldn't get past. :(

On another note......! Happy T-day week, everybody. Hope to see any/all around the thread, over the coming holidays. I am cooking, as usual, but I will be popping in here from time to time. ;)

**EDIT**

Forgot to add: @julia_xo was the one that provided me with the in-game dialogue for Thane and Shepard.  She was seriously johnny-on-the-spot with the content last summer.

BTW, I have an ME2 Thane question. Have any of you given Thane the task of the "Biotic bubble" during the SM, and had him SURVIVE it? I could have sworn I read somewhere, that if you are fully upgraded, all loyal, and all the other assignments are well chosen, that he COULD survive "the long walk". Am I remembering incorrectly....making s**t up? hehe!

^Person who does Biotic Bubble never dies, but one of your other squadmates.

And you probably read it wrong.
Originally, every loyal Biotic could have succeed in doing that.
But got changed later in development of ME2.

Thanks Mesina!Posted Image  Hmmm...weird.  I could have sworn that he could die if you chose him for the bubble, with certain circumstances.  But then again, I have always been to chicken s**t to have him try it.  Ya know, only the past six months, did I finally start switching up things on the SM.  I got everyone to survive the first time, so I just stuck with that lineup...heh! The only thing I would often change is the other person (besides Thane), that came with me on the final run to "ze Terminator".  Such a creature of habit.  Sheesh.  Thanks again for the info.  I think he will be the bubble master as soon as I get Chase Shep to her final run in ME2.  Posted Image

I found something interesting on twitter, at least for me. A small conversation between Patrick Weekes and a fan.
fan: "What are your thoughts on the possibility of Drell and Batarian females in the future?"

PW: "I'd love to see them. No reason it's out of the question in some future content."

A drell woman would mean something special for drell, so this is not a good news. But maybe later...

Dishonoured and Skyrim. Actually started a new pt on Skyrim. I got bored with the last one, so now I've got a sneaky archer chick rollin' about Skyrim, picking pockets and whatnot. ;)

Why did I have a flashback to the 70's. and commence the song in my head...damn...

Agree 100%!

@Mnomaha  You've been playing Dishonored? How do you like it? I like it though doing the game in a stealthy way is not easy lol!

I've been playing DA 2 (Yes I gave in *facepalm*) and I really like it,to me it's better than the first...oh and Feeeeeenris! Posted Image

LOL sorry had to do that! ^^

@Mesina...LOL and thanks!

@Vlk...probably only in MP

@Roxy..I do like Dishonored, but only in short plays. Too much time and I start getting tense, which is rather counter productive. :)

To each his own I suppose, I found DA:O far more superior than DA2, but once I got past the entire let down about crappy things happening when I pushed a button, I found it rather enjoyable. And yes, Fenris helped. What they did to my Zevran was inexcusable though and I doubt it can be forgiven.

So see, they've ruined two of my romances, three if you count they way DA2 finished. It was rather...lackluster.

And Thane does look different in that picture...more...harsh perhaps.

Wow. Thane looks sweaty. I wonder if his sweat is also hallucinogenic?

He and Shep were probably having a private "sparring session" and got interrupted. No wonder Thane looks so unhappy! :P

And mnomaha..... did you steal one of my Skyrim saves? Your character sounds suspiciously like mine. If you come back and say she's accidentally been turned into a vampire and that her only friend is Calder then I'm definitely going to know something's up. *eyeballs mnomaha"

Oooh! And guess what? One month and one day until I'll be banging on your front door! Yippee! *dances... and does NOT bang her knee on the computer desk... ha!*

Thanks for the info Beanie. It definitely helped get me out of that tough spot, and cleared up the rest of the Kepral's section. That section should be finished soon, now. Then I'll just have to type it up! :P

@roxy... I've started another DA:O pt so we're both week. Two actually, one on the pc with all those delish Zevran mods, who is basically a copy of the PS3 one I started while I was sick. I just went back to Skyrim to finish Freya's pt and now I've got another one planned because I keep finding wonderful mods to add to it but that aren't suitable for Freya's pt.

And vik? Like mnomaha said it'll probably only be in mp... and since lore has established that drell have absolutely no need for breasts, they'll give them massive hooters, too. *bloody unimaginative men.*

Boy. That took a bloody long time to type with only one hand (and maybe three fingers). Oh, don't worry. Nothing serious. I just forgot that I'm a tall person in a house with low ceilings, and even lower ceiling fans which are always turned on high. Ouch. :S

At least with Fenris, you can easily headcanon (and not in a, "making up s**t that is lore opposing", way) what happens with Hawke and Fenris AFTER everything is said and done. But yes, don't know what the hell happened with Zev. Since his role is still fun, I have been able to come to terms with it. Still, doesn't mean I like it. (and the easiest way around the import bug with Zev.....don't invite Issy on that quest, and don't have Hawke flirt with Zev. Of course, you should make multiple saves though, so you CAN flirt with him later for the Fenris jealousy lulz. HA!)

Haha. Fenris jealous is certainly lul indicing! He was so adorable! Though i don't know what that import bug is. I've never gotten it. Or if I have, I've never known about it so I don't know what it is. Yeah I'm rambling.

I do hate what they did to my Zev. So i'm headcanoning that he and my warden were having problems, and that Zevran was trying to heal a broken heart the only way he knew how, but that he and my warden get back together afterwards.

hehe....that IS the bug, @myth! Zev won't say the lines relating to a relationship with the warden (and yes, they are in the talk tables, as I understand, but do not "fire".). If the warden had successfully romanced Zev (earring and all), he will brush off any advancement from either Hawke or Issy. This is even if the Warden is dead....which makes the lines even sadder, if you think of it.....poor, alone Zev....*squish*

What? He has relationship lines? Did they fix the bug? I almost never took izzy on my Zevran mission and I never got a relationship line. Then again I never have my PS3 connected to the internet anymore so I've never once installed an update...

Poor Zev. That's so sad.... :(

No, they never fixed the bug. Someone was able to extract the unfired dialogue for a romanced Zevran in DA2. As for Issy, I have taken her once with my Ezriel Hawke. They were involved (and frequented the Blooming Rose quite often...he was utterly depraved and was into EVERYTHING!) :D
So of course, he and Issy had a three-way with Zev. I scarred Aveline for life....HAHAHA! He was a fun play through. ;)

sorry for delay on response......I believe someone transcribed it (might be @ejoslin - maker of many of the Zevran mods in DAO), and it might be possible that someone has recorded them and posted them on the internet somewhere, but I don't know......

Would have LOVED to hear them in-game from Zev himself. It's part of the reason, that I use my Ali+Warden import more often than my multiple Zev imports. :P

You can get around some of the import bug with the gff editor.  I spent a while monkeying with it before I imported the Warden who romanced Zev into DA2.  There is also a mod for PC that attempts to fix a bunch of the romance import bugs and Awakening bugs at once.

You can get Zev so that he doesn't flirt with Izzy or Hawke if romanced, and he comments on a dead Warden.  I don't think there's any way to fix him commenting on a Warden who romanced him and lived, however.

Thanks for the info, Sable!Posted Image  I have never used the gff editor before.  I've been to chicken....lol.  But I think I might try it.  It's funny, I have a new(ish) warden that is currently waiting to be finished, who is with Zev and will be doing the US....so it would be nice to have the lines spoken from Zev in DA2 regarding such a path.

All of the DA:O flags are stored in a section called the "worldvault."  If you're going to make changes from an Origins import, do them as early as possible in DA2--make two saves as soon as you have the option, keep one as a backup, and muck about with the other.  GFF is merely a save file editor.  As long as you have backup saves, you can muck with one all you like without destroying your game.

I've got a question about Thane, specifically his potential death in the SM. I only did 2 PTs and I had to save everyone. Just don't have it in me to let them die if I can avoid it. But I've seen the YT video where everyone dies. Meep.

My question is if there's any other way for Thane to die other than getting squished by a falling girder? If you do his LM will he always live?

This thead should have every eventuality you want to plan for on the SM, as well as all of the potential squaddie deaths and death order.

Personally, I just do everything normally, then use the Gibbed save editor and swap Thane from loyal to disloyal right before the SM.  If you do this, then take some of the heavier hitters with you to the Reaper larva instead of letting them hold the line (Grunt, Garrus, Zaeed), Thane is almost certainly going to die during "hold the line."  You can even do this with Xbox saves if you transfer them to PC.

Did anyone see the thread about WillU's Mass Effect Genenis comic? People were saying that Thane, Jack, and Jacob were not options for a romance. Miranda (maybe)was the only possibility from the game.

So for femShep she could have Garrus, Kaidan, and Liara
BroShep Ashley, Tali, Liara, and maybe Miri.

...I don't know what to feel about this. But this sucks on a larger scale.
